Me and my girlfriend are visiting NYC and wanted to try something local (a mom and pop shop), but also with good food. We were starving from walking all of central park and astoria for 10 hours so we looked up a bunch of places. Low and behold, this place did not dissapoint. First off the portions were enough for 5 small children, the savory flavor and authentic tastes were enough to make your taste buds jump out of your mouth then jump back in to taste it again. The calamari was exceptional, not rubbery at all and perfectly seasond with a light crisp flour and fried to perfection. The chicken parm was the size of a large frisbee and tasted like a piece of heaven, the penne alla vodka was mouth watering and the baked ziti was just screaming with flavor. I do not come to nyc often but when I do... I will definitely be visiting this place again.

First look I was skeptical, but, upon a recommendation, went in. WOW, THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD EVER!!!! TRULY PHENOMENAL DINING EXPERIENCE. The prices are incredible, the portions are HUGH, and the taste is nothing short of excellent. The server was a delightful young lady who served us piping hot food, try the garlic bread, feast on anything your heart desires because everything they make is perfection! The fried calamari, the lentil soup, the Pasta Napoli, the Manicotti, the Putanesca- and dont forget the Carbonara- all are hands down best in all NY. Not fancy décor, but, if you want to eat like a Queen or a King, and you like taking home a little something for later, you can certainly do so with anything you order from this fabulous hidden treasure. Buon Appetite!

Read pretty good reviews, so decided to stop in for a quick slice. Chicken + tomato pizza was good (but nothing spectacular), crust was a little too flimsy (fell apart right away, even after folding in half, & became really messy). Young girl & Mexican guys were really friendly & helpful. The old guy was ok, but very unhelpful. Me: "whats your fav slice - what do you recommend for someone who eats meat, veggies - basically everything?" Response: "I dont know, what you like?" That went on for about a min before I just chose the freshest looking slice. Dont let that discourage you, try it out, its not bad.

I stopped coming here years ago because I felt things were slipping and recently rediscovered this little gem. Man am I glad I did. I think its better now than it ever was when I first started going there. The food is excellent as is the service. Its a family business so Antonio has both his kids working there. Its a tiny little downstairs Italian joint thats pretty specific to the neighborhood. You wont get fancy here, just fed really well. Youll probably get out of there for around $20/-30person all in. That aint bad.

My wife and I were staying in Queens while I ran the NYC Marathon. Post race we didnt want to make the trip in to Manhattan again, so decided to walk the 3/4 mile from the hotel. We ate a great pizza(Napoli Special- easily serves 4) in a relaxed simple atmosphere. The staff was courteous and friendly. We had a pleasant bottle of Italian wine (the selection was sparse), As good a dining experience as we had in Manhattan the other three days we were here!

Hands down this is the best pizza I have ever had anywhere in my life. Seriously, the lasagne slice is like a religious experience. I have been meaning to write a review for so long and have been prompted by recently moving from Queens to Manhattan and not finding anything that can touch this. Also it is $2.50 a slice. What more could you ask? Havent tried the entrees but hear great reports. Will be going back to Queens for Napolis and Napolis only...

I have lived in Astoria for over 20 years and there are 2 places left from the "good old days" that offer great value and great food: Napolis and the "Cronin & Phelan". The owner is almost always present in both: Great food, great value! The ($5) wine refills are poured directly in your glass! The dishes are massive, good and delicious. The clientele is strictly local and colorful. Experience what Astoria was like BEFORE it became "chique"...

Ayo this is my spot son, its literally a few feet away from my house and I still sometimes order food from Seamless and pick it up in-store; and if Im really lazy Ill simply have it delivered to my place. Bottom line is this place has great food, people and service all in a nice and cozy environment. Highly recommended if you want affordable and authentic NYC style pizza, pasta and other Italian grub.

Ordered Chicken Francese and it was the weirdest tasting chicken Ive ever encountered. The chicken was spongy and had a strange consistency. Had to toss the entire dish. A waste of over 10 bucks. Really disappointed and this isnt the first time. I wouldnt order anything but standard pizza here and that leaves much to be desired. I hope management reviews this feedback and puts out a better product.

Ive been coming to NY every three months for about a year & almost every time Ive order from here. While their phone service stinks the food arrives at my hotel very fast, its always hot and ohhh sooo good! Tonight I ordered a Stromboli, Pasta alla Napoli & garlic knots and it was soo delicious! My wife always orders the Breast of Chicken Parmigiana and she love it!

An Astoria favorite for almost 20 years. The salads are generously portioned and perfect for sharing. The pasta a la vodka, marinara, or garlic and olive oil versions are my top three pics. For more casual dining, head for the pizza (veg or Margarita) or an eggplant Parmesan hero. Thankfully there is a ramp leading back to the sidewalk.. Youll be too full to walk.

I really love the pizza dough. Whether its still hot or cold, their dough is very fresh and remains a nice crunch here, unlike some other places where its saggy, hard and chewy after it cools down. I would only complain about the waitresses...very unfriendly with a sh*tface on and no smile at all. Other than that, food is delicioso!!

It is a nice family atmosphere at this restaurant. Its a shame they pay under the table then the boss dodges phone calls regarding hours. When confronted in person, they say my work was great, yet I dont get called for more hours. Probably because his prejudice employee at the counter prefers Spanish speaking workers.

Ive had there pizza a few times and it was good. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana pasta dinner and it was awful. The sauce had a sour taste. I got 4 pieces of the thinnest eggplant Ive ever seen. Hardly any mozzarella cheese. Not worth the $9.50 I paid for this meal. Had to throw it out.
