My fiance had a reservation at Fifth Season for 8:45pm on Valentines Day. The day before they called 1x to confirm. The next day they called 2x to confirm and told him that if he cancels, it will be a $50 fine charged to his account. It was 8:45 when we pulled into the parking lot to look for a spot and by the time we found it, we may have run 9 minutes late, in which they had called us again a 3rd time to ask where we were. As we walked in, the lobby was packed and they had asked us to either wait upstairs or downstairs, both were full with customers. We decided to wait upstairs. I waited about 15 minutes and asked when we will be seated. No one had an answer. I waited another 15 minutes and they had the manager come over to explain to me that they are running late because of the snow in the parking lot. There was no snow at all. We waited and waited a total of 45 minutes with a reservation and still no response on a table. No one was leaving the restaurant either in that 45 minutes of waiting. We had decided that waiting an hour with a reservation was too long to wait, especially since they called us 3times to confirm. We decided to leave and had told management. In that case, Management had apologized and offered us a $25 gift card. Then turned around and told me that the computers were not working. They did not offer to take my address down and mail me one later. That would have been the right thing to do. We had walked out an hour later still hungry and dissappointed. Unfortnuately, this is not the first time that we made a reservation and had to still wait to be seated. I understand that it is Valentines day, but when you triple book and charge $50 for a cancelled reservation, that upsets me. I should be charging them $50 for lost time and no service. Terrible management skills. I would not recommend this restaurant in the future. Go to Kitchen A. Bistro, Cassis in Huntington, or Prime. They are terrific with great decor and service.

Went here for dinner on a Friday night. Two person tables in the dining area are quite close together, but not the most claustrophobic I have ever experienced. The wine list is quite good, offering a decent range of prices and some less expensive but great tasting wines (ie. Charles Smith Boom Boom Shiraz @ 40$). Had the winter squash and wild mushroom profiteroles which were tasty, but not mindblowing. Mrs. ordered the prawns which were salty, but delicious and the salad which they were served with was phenomenal. For dinner I had the duck, which was tender in the middle and crispy on the skin. Perfecto. Mrs. had the fluke which was well prepared, but should not have been served on top of the side dishes with which it came. The plates are quite small and expensive and the sides that are served with the main courses leave something to be desired. Overall, I would say that while the meal was quite tasty, it is only worth the price if you order from the price fixe menu. The size of the portions were small, which I like, but not well presented and the sides are unimaginative. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Will probably wind up eating here again since it is definitely one of the better restaurants in port jeff.

I wish they had a different category for service, the service was great. The brunch was lacking, it could have been so much more if the presentation was a little better. I received an omelet that was completely naked. Parsley may be passe but a drizzle of any kind of oil, to dress the plate, would have been welcome. The menu on line, is not the same as the menu that is offered for brunch. I was hoping for the caramelized pear french toast but it wasnt on the menu. If they are offering brunch there should be a few more brunch items, like sausage or home fries or hash browns instead of house cut fries. One of the orders was completely wrong when it was brought out and the server noticed the eggs was wrong and took it back. I hear dinner is much better but I was hoping brunch would be up to the same standards.

This is, usually, a gem of a place. The staff is friendly, warm and very professional. The food is always excellent. The cocktails here are the excellent. The bar is diverse, with a really good range of drinks. If theres something not on the menu, chances are the youll get to have a friendly one-on-one with the server and get to know the "real" bar, which has even more options! Another aspect of this place I really like is that they stress on locally sourced food. And you can taste the freshness. The only reason I will give it a 4 star review is because one out of the three times I have been here, the server was extremely unprofessional and kept disappearing for long intervals. However, for the two other dinners I have had here, the servers were exceptional.

Best meal Ive ever had on Long Island. And the cocktails were excellent - balanced, not syrupy. The server accommodated my friends gluten allergy and was pleasant throughout the meal. Another friend ordered a beer, which was expired. And the server got his order wrong. And there was another mix-up with the drinks. These things can derail an experience, but the staff was quick to accommodate and all of the food was excellent, so we hardly noticed. There are even two vegetarian mains - a rarity in this area. I cannot wait to try all the seasons at The Fifth Season!

I opted for a seasonal vegetarian dish, the mushroom and tomato rizzoto with baby bok choy. It was cooked to perfection! Bursting with flavor, the dish was a treat for 3 of my senses. Very varied and fairly good quality beer menu , with an option for a flight of their beers on draft. Very happy with the food, a point off for it being a little too pricey, although it was in Port Jeff (which is known for being fairly pricey) and boasted farm-to-table cooking for locavores, so I suppose its par for the course.

A little pricey, but I guess thats par for the course in that town and with a locavore menu. The chef knows what theyre doing. The charcuterie plate was easily the best meat Ive ever tasted. Staff was attentive and I appreciated that the menu has symbols for guests with dietary restrictions. Very helpful, simple thing that other restaurants choose not to do. The artwork on the walls is cool, too. Id recommend taking someone here for a fancier date, or a nice family dinner.

We held a luncheon party for about 40 people at the Fifth Season, and I had fairly high expectations, but also wasnt sure if the menu for a large party would deliver on that expectation. They did not disappoint. The appetizer choices (a salad and a mascarpone crepe) were both delicious. The strip steak and gnocchi were both outstanding, but I didnt try the salmon, but those who got it liked it very much. The desserts were very good as well.

We had a party of 8 for a celebration. the food was good to excellent. However, we were seated at 6:45 and we left 3 hrs later. We had to wait for every course for excessively long time periods, which is unacceptable. The cost of the dinners were also excessive. The only redeeming quality was the taste and presentation of the food. I will not go back for dinner because of the negatives. However, I might try lunch there.
