I have eaten at Ocean Empire many times over the years and it continues to be my favorite restaurant overall. The quality and taste of the food has remained very consistent throughout. If you are knowledgeable about oriental cuisine, you can order dishes not already on their varied menu. Mr & Mrs Woo, the owners, are very hospitable and will check on the customers to make sure they are enjoying their meal. My favorites are the sub gum wonton soup and the ginger scallion flounder. Except for the soups and brown and white rice, all dishes are freshly made to order (of course if you like ready to eat microwaved food, you can always go to places like the Olive Garden :).

The steamed vegetable dumplings,however, were a good start to a lousy finish. Waiter was nice and uninformed. I had asked to stay away from salty and sugary sauces, but my "sizzling steak" could have been "sizzlin" but it was submerged in some salty sauce! The broccoli and chicken had so much gooey, salty sauce, too, that the entire family now, the next morning, has a sodium hang over. Have fared better at this place before. I think they can do far better. I simply had to speak up.

I truly love this place. Theyve stood the Pomona restaurant curse and have been around for a decade. Its a lovely place to go out to eat and they have a surprisingly good bar. The foods a but better then the usual Chinese take out places but i give em four stars instead of five simply cause if they delivered it would be an improvement. I cant really think of any negative things other then lack of delivery service. The people are always great there so leave a good tip.

Ive only eaten her twice since I dont quite live in the area but those two times the food has been amazing. Their crab rangoon are simply the best in Rockland. I havent sampled enough to give them 5-stars just yet but the GT chicken, orange beef, chicken with garlic sauce are all stellar meals.

Best mai tai cocktails anywhere Ive ever had. Worth traveling from the city just to have one of their famous libations at the bar. O yeah, the food is pretty good too, but you could go for a cocktail and go home, its nothing unusual there.

A good Chinese restaurant that you can sit down and it is not a buffet place. The owner comes around to check on the customers on their food. They have regulars who sit around their bar area too.
