Let me begin by saying that this restaurant was one of our favorites and we were going for years. Probably have been there over 25 times. After waiting for 1 1/2 hours we were called to a table. The waitress, Roses came over and she looked unkept. She definately looked like something was wrong with her. We gave her our order and talked amongst ourselves for a while . I then proceeded to the bathroom. I was in the bathroom and someone came bursting in and violently started throwing up. I was like oh my gosh, i thought it must have been a patron who had too much to drink at the bar. I went back to the table and informed my party what just transpired and watched from my seat to see who came out. The waitress, Roses came out of the bathroom. I was shocked and appalled as she would be serving our food. I proceeded to get Pellars (the owner) attention and told her what happened as I was concerned for our health as well as all the customers involved. She said she was unaware and would speak to Roses. She came back to me and told me that Roses choked on a piece of candy. That was so far from the truth as I was the one in the bathroom and knew what exactly happened. Pellar told me that Roses was the ONLY waitress upstairs and said she believed her not to be ill. So the bottom line is, serving as many tables as possible with no concern to the health of her customers was her mission. We talked amongst ourselves for about two minutes on how to handle the situation when our food was brought out and the men were the ones that were serving it to us but Roses was so angry that we had told on her she grabbed one of the dishes and went to serve us stating that she is not sick. We told her we did not want that dish as no one wanted to get sick. She took the dish back and gave it to one of the men and they tried to serve the dish. We were shocked. We told them no. The owner was aware of the situation. I have to tell you that the owner had no regard for anything except pumping out the food. So now one of our favorite restaurants will never be attended again and I will tell as many people as possible. This is not acceptable. The health of many people were at stake. I only wish I could go back because I should have made an announcement at the restaurant that night to warn the other patrons.

So first before getting started Id like to address the three negative reviews. One of them is poorly reviewing the restaurant because they mistakenly thought it was Mexican food. Thats just completely irrelevant. The other two reviews are about the service. I have been to this place many a time and will easily tell you avoid the female waitresses at all costs. Im not sure why but they just are not as good as the men. We know on a first name basis because they are cheerful and excellent. I cannot say the same thing about the ladies sadly. Now for the food. The food at this place is awesome. I think there are a few dud dishes like the surf and turf and I personally didnt care for the Chilean Seabass a la Chef. However the lobster is perfectly cooked, the seafood in green sauce is a staple at our table, although Im not a filet eater Ive had may people at my table love it, and the Fred Flintstone size ribeye Ive had and its excellent. The lamb chops are great. Although its good Id avoid the churrasco steak as its very rich. However I would warm folks that some of the portions are just so big they are worth the extra $6 to share the plate. We dont have too much experience with the desserts (no space after the mains) but the flan is good and the rice pudding from what we hear is to die for when its freshly made. Also this is a place for garlic lovers. If youre not, let them know before hand otherwise youll be wildly disappointed. Also you dont need a starter unless youre sharing with a large table of folks. The mains are just too big. Is this place cheap? No. However is it a good value? Resoundingly yes. You get your moneys worth.

It was 9:45 me and my husband were starving stopped by and were happy to be seated. were greeted by a young female gave her name moved my purse out of her way to get the extra 2 plate settings of the table , took the order to return back with the salad .salad smelled pretty bad as if the onion was sitting there for hours and my husband asked her to replace the salad since it wasn’t fresh .she replied yes it is I just made the salad he replies no she says yes he says no she replies yes as if he was arguing with my 2 year old nephew me and my husband were amazed on how she is replying to the complaint and not just taking the salad away and bringing another one out , all the tables around us were looking at what happening in disbelieve when we asked to speak with the manager she says she is the manager and when we ask to speak with the owner she says well maybe you will not like the food here then . I was in a shock how can a waitress tell you maybe you will not like the food here then .she walks away for an older man comes out with this chef jacket telling me the salad was fresh refuses to hear anything me and my husband have to say about how we were treated at his restaurant and …wait for it he tells us well maybe you will not like the food here .this was the owner??? of a restaurant ? in paramours?i got up and told him you are right we will not like the food here and walked out .how can an owner and his staff say the exact same line unless this is what they are used to tell the customers .i have never seen or heard about a restaurant disrespecting its customer as much as I felt I was disrespected and literally kicked out of the establishment

hey el cid thank you for a wonderfull dinner we had at this restaurant for the first time on veterans day ot was excellente and the triple lobsters and tge whole meal and appetisers were great we couldnot eat ours but the next day when we arrived home me and mr. lobsters we had a mighty mighty good time the fourr dozen of mussels in the broth made from scratch just tantalizing excellente and yes we do want too eat their forever or return many times thank you for your hospitalites through it all and services also this restaurant el cid is beautifull the pictures of a homeland that picture is wonderfull and the inside and around side front side of this facilury is immaculate much love and hats off too el cid we are glad we had fun and enjoyed ourselves it felt like home calgon take us all awau too el cid again have a blessed Thanks Giving much love too yoh all.
