Message: Hello, good evening. I appreciate all your hard work youve put into your business. I dined at Taos restaurant/lounge today with my significant other and we were very disappointed. When walking into the restaurant, the restaurant smelled of dish water. We decided to hopefully enjoy happy hour to try out the multiple different items prepared on the menu. The happy hour menu was so large it led us to believe the executive chef did not specialize in anything. We ordered stuffed mushrooms, mini burgers (after rudely being told short rib sliders werent available), calamari, blackened chicken and sautéed mussels. I only enjoyed the mussels and the calamari was doable. Im sending this letter in hopes that your team will overall improve your place of a business. The menus were not cleaned and some were dated as far as information, not a good first impression. My server seemed to be in a rush though we went during restaurant down hours (4:30pm-6:00pm). I hope someone reads this message who cares enough to make small changes in the restaurant as far as cleanliness, professionally trained staff or honestly just genuinely hospitable. No one wants to be rushed to order food and or told "No Problem" repetitively. My companion and I are both proffesional servers and I genuinely care about every establishment I walk into and spend my time in. I can not get my day back today and unfortunately I wish I did not make the choice to go to Taos. Instead of trying to have 100 items on the menu, maybe.. just maybe a team could condense the menu down 30-50% and make good food.

I like going to Taos with friends for Happy Hour. Ive eaten lunch there before, and it was enjoyable as well. They have a good selection of beer on tap, and their wines arent bad like many places in the area. The food is an Asian fusion style, and some of it is quite delectable. My better half LOVES the swordfish dumplings. Appetizer sizes are pretty good for the price, and its nice to get a few appetizers for a table and just share. They recently got rid of some of the seating in the bar area, to make room for larger, public free-for-all seat yourself tables. While not terrible, it becomes uncomfortable to have people sitting next to you that you dont know, especially if youre there as a group of girls.

Second visit yesterday.... SOO awesome!!! Taos has such delicious food, especially for the price. Huge variety on the menu, everything from sandwiches to sushi. Lunches include a free beer -yay - and happy hour includes 5 small dishes for $15 -super yay! Cant wait to go back and try that! I havent experienced anything but great service, contrary to what a lot of others have posted. The place has a warm ambiance and I thought the staff was friendly, genuine, and everyone was smiling. I couldnt think of a bad thing to say, even if I wanted to. It is certainly my favorite place in the Rutherford area. 5 stars!!!

Great place but the ethics of the restaurant are out of the line. I would be careful with giving them the debit/credit card as they decide to tip themselves. Also I have a pending charge on my card, and I have not visited the restaurant. Complete BS as they would have to go through the dispute process with my bank.

My brother in law had his engagement party here so we had a room for everyone, the staff was attentive, appetizers were served before the main course, which were all very good! The main course was buffet style and was good also, definitely recommend.

Great first date spot! The bar has unique features, and the food is really delish. Cocktail specials are a must, but prices even without Happy Hour arent outrageous. Nice mix of young professionals and folks from town.

I love this bar, the happy hour specials are good, the food is good and the drinks are great. Not much parking in the lot but street parking is plentiful. Staff is friendly and fast.i recommend this place

Wow, the best shark fin soup I have ever had. Very hard to find in New Jersey, but Taos delivers in this area. Overall the atmosphere is newage and business casual. A very pleasant place to dine.

We were group of 50 people. Service was so bad. Waiting for food over two hours. Was awful.. we all had to leave Hungry and upset. Unbelievable. I give them 1 star because zero is not an opinion.

I have been coming to Taos for many years. Lately I have been feeling the portion sizes have been getting smaller. This place used to be a great buy. Of late it has been just average.
