A very nice Irish bar owned and operated by an actual Irishman. I say this because many Irish pubs you find are not owned by Irish people, usually just some arse who wants to make a buck off the popularity these types of bars have. Anyways... Come in on any weekday or afternoon and youll find a bunch of swell local folks chatting around the bar. All very friendly (Peekskill is known to be a friendly town) including the staff here. The food is also pretty good, Ive had the nachos and a burger and was pretty happy with my choices. They even have a keg you can reserve, and you can pour your own pints from it. During the week they have games and things to do such as a jam session, bring your instrument and play with others and have fun. On Friday night and weekend nights it usually gets pretty busy, but they do have an outdoor patio which is pretty nice. All in all I like this place, the people, the atmosphere and its location and will definitely find my way back here time and time again.

I happened to be in the area on business and was looking for a decent bar with appetizers and what not. Someone suggested we try out this place. It had been many years since I was in the Peekskill area and was somewhat reluctant. What a pleasant surprise! First, for those of you who remember Peekskill from the 90s- this city has changed. Charming bar/ restaurant district, nicely restored with turn of the century adornments. The quite man offered the simple elegance of a true Irish pub with some fun authentic Irish fare. Mixed crowd ranging from the 50 something bracket to 30 something professionals. I visited at about 6:00pm, I dont know what the later part of the day would bring. The waitstaff was efficient and attentive and the drinks were great (I dont know how many places Ive been recently that have amateur hour bartenders that seem to only cater to the "drink of the month"). Very pleased. Next time I am in the area (or heck, even near-by) I will be visiting again.

I actually stopped into this pub during restaurant week and it was too crowded so I made it a point to return at another time. When I did I was terribly disappointed in the food. I ordered a short rib sandwich and the meat was like shoe leather. My dinner partner at this time was hysterical laughing watching me trying to gnaw at the meat to get apiece into my mouth. (I finally gave up) When I told the waitress she said "Ill tell the cook and disappeared." She seemed preoccupied and there was an older gentleman walking about and greeting people. She did return... with the check and no comment about what the cook said and no indication that she ever even told him. I was terribly disappointed and will never return. I have told this to all of my friends as well. There are many fine restaurants in Peekskill...no need to go to The Quiet Man.

A nice, local Irish pub with a great atmosphere. The menu is mostly pub food, so choices are what you should expect from a pub. Theres a decent selection of wine, beer and cocktails. The service is excellent but can be a little slower if theres a show that same day at the nearby Paramount. We go for the Sunday afternoon live music. If you check their music schedule and look for singer/songwriter Christopher Brown, youre sure to get a nice mixture of Irish ballads, 70s music and some really wonderful original compositions. Its a place we keep coming back to.

The Quiet Man is a very friendly place with a lovely back garden. I had the smoked salmon, which was very good, and a glass of Guinness to wash it down. The waitress, the bartender and the owner were all convivial hosts, and the owner is very active in supporting his community. A great place to stop by and enjoy old time hospitality.

Great food, horrible service. Took over an hour just to get our appetizer- and it came at the same time as our entree. She also messed up our order and forgot one of the appetizers. We had to remind her web she brought the food out- and she STILL forgot about the order. Anyway, the food was delicious. Too bad it took well over 2hrs.

I live close to the Bronx county and. I found the Quiet Man by pure luck. My waitress was informative and really nice. It was a Quiet, cozy interior with good eats and reasonable prices. I would like to visit again to try the sheppards pie. I would definitely suggest stopping in for a bite.

Awesome place. Bartenders take care of you, great atmosphere, and pretty good food. Deals all the time on drinks and food specials. It also has this real Cheers vibe with so many regulars all calling each other out by name when they walk in.
