First of all let me start by saying that I have gone in delis from Mastic to Massapequa, Idle hour deli by far is probably the best one I have ever been to. The Deli business is probably one of the most demanding businesses to run. This place has it down to a science,great food,great service and very clean.Alot of people go into places that might be a little cheaper,but look around at those places they are probably very dirty. They spent alot of money recently on new salad cases,new floor,new coffee island and also a facelift on the front of the store.The catering is excellent as well as the quality of the food. I know that nothing is perfect but they are very close. I f you think about writing a bad review ,why dont you try and put yourself in the owners shoes..... you probably wouldnt last to long. Remember take notice of small details in food establishments.

I have worked all over the island. Now that I am in Sayville I have ordered from a few different delis near by to get a feel for what was available. I have to say Idle Hour is the best I have dealt with so far. They have gone the extra mile to make sure that my orders have been not only accurately made, but they actually label the sandwiches by the name of the person to whom the sandwich was ordered for. Keeping in mind I am usually ordering for a minimum of 6 people every Saturday, that is pretty impressive. As far as pricing goes you get what you pay for. As far as deli sandwiches go their pricing IS competitive. If you are going to complain about how you can get a cheaper sandwich at a deli inside of a gas station just remember that you are eating a sandwich from GAS STATION not a DELI.

My experience let me see well my sandwiches were wrong 3 days in a row as well as on the 3 rd n final day I went there i saw a girl with extremely long nails picking at the pimples and bloody scabs on her face then with no gloves on and without washing her hands started making food on the grill . How nasty and disgusting.dont ever go to this place .and half the staff looks like there on drugs the other half is nasty and the few good ppl they had over the years seem to be gone .

had to cal back 2 times because the gentlemen hung up on me 2 times and than when i went to go pick up the food the same gentlemen get the order wrong and has the nerve to argue about it as if he was right. deffinatley not the first but it sure will be the last time that we deal with this

I used to come here all the time, until I saw the big tall dude in there not using gloves and touching my food. I even tried to give them another chance thought maybe it was just once in a blue moon, and STILL NO GLOVES. Wont ever step foot in there again thats just repulsive.

The food isnt bad by any means its just expensive for a deli. I could never imagine ordering two sandwiches and having it cost over $20 anywhere else. On another note, the iced tea is really good here.

Some of the workers tend to have a bug up their butt, even though your paying top dollar for the sandwich..that being said, the food is great!
