Cash Only ~~ I would personally recommend then more than Ippudo simply because of comfort feel and less wait time. Minca is a small restaurant. So there will be a few minutes of wait. Most customers are very consider that they are people waiting so the wait is not too long. 1. Tsukemen- Dipping style ramen with the choice of hot/cold noodle and broth flavor I chosed the Salt and Garlic broth with hot noodles. Dipping style was a bit of a hassle for me because I am a messy eater and often causes stain on my clothes. But this was a new experience for me. All the ingredients are serve separately from the noodles on another plate. I think this helps creates and clearly distinguished what each ingredient taste like separately and together with the noodles. One thing that took me by surprise is the salt and garlic level in the broth. The broth was a bit too salty to drink on its like the pork broth. The broth is better when it is used as a dipping sauce. 2. Pork Broth ramen - exceed my expectations. This was name as one of the popular options. The broth was consistent in flavor. I can not begin with the pork slice on both of the ramen. I personally do not eat meat because of certain texture I dislike. But these slices of pork are soft and easily to be pulled apart. The pork was well seasoned and flavorful even before the broth has submerged the slices. Both ramen plus tax and tips, our total was $34 The presentation was clean cut. Service was great. It is a small restaurant with little room to walk around, the server makes sure that you have what you needed. Often refilling waters and making sure customers enjoy their food. I personally love ramen, and this is one of the best ramen I have ate at a decent price.

Honestly I dont know why there are so many 3 stars for this place. I was in a party of 2 (yes 2 for dimsum...not all that crazy!!) and we were seated very quickly at a huge table...way bigger than we needed but we didnt mind. It was during Chinese new years so it was quite bustling and there were dragons wandering around throughout the venue. I really liked the food a lot. I loved the taro / turnip cake, shumai, cheong fun (white noodles with the black sauce), taro fried dumpling, pork spare ribs, sauteed greens, etc...I never get the porridge because I always make it at home when Im sick or feeling soup so its kind of an unnecessary filler. I thought the prices were very reasonable. My friend and I ate a TON and spent $30 and that was on a weekend/new years when they sometimes jack up the prices. So ++++ for that! If you think the servers are ignoring you, just get up and go get what you want...seriously they dont mind. Also on the sides of the venue there are cooking stations where you can get your food fresh off the stove! I love that. I thought the staff was pretty attentive and got us our tea/refilled it pretty fast and came towards our table when we flagged it down. I did take one star off by being soo farrrrrrrr from the subway. My friend is very good at directions so hes been here once before and memorized how to get here so we didnt have trouble...but imagine me by myself. gawd...i would be an hour late than my usual 15 minutes :P

I dont know how to feel about this. Maybe because I was biased over the wait of an hour+ for at best mediocre ramen in Manhattan. There are far better places surrounding the area. I rather hop on the subway to go to my safe haven - Ippudo or walk back to Ivans Ramen Shop to try. The place is extremely tiny like Totto Ramen, but above ground. There are customers trying to wait INSIDE the restaurant. I just wished they waited outside or the bar across the street. My cousins and my friend ordered the "Basic" while my other friend and I tried out the spicy miso ramen. For the basic, there is much to be desired. There was something off about the broth that day because it tasted like bad pork went into the broth. I definitely taste the garlic, but I wished it overpowered the bad pork based. The noodle are pretty good and bouncy. I would highly recommend getting the Spicy Miso Ramen because it was as close as youre going to decent rament, but lets get to the real issue I have with this place. The seasoned egg or the shoyu tamago as its called. The york is cooked all the way. They didnt time it correctly nor did they care to seasoned it correctly. They only marinated for possible 12 hours so its a light brown color. I dont ever think I can live with that and nor will I be coming back because of this. I take my shoyu tamago very seriously. If youre in the area, you should give it a whirl, but this isnt a place you go out of your way to try.

Went there for the Howie Day performance. The venue is actually very nice, you can get a pretty good view of the perfomer from most angles. We were seated in front of a pillar but after some wrangling with the seating chart guy we got moved to another table. My seats were up on the mezzaine, and we were by the water station so throughout the night we didnt have trouble getting a hold of a waiter. Food: Had the half chicken, it was cooked and seasoned well. The sides which were limp rice noodles and sad looking string beans were not so great Appetizers was the grilled octopus - That was suprisingly cooked very well. There was a pesto sauce with grilled potatoes on the side. The potatoes were kind of mushy/ over cooked but they were flavorful. The important thing was that the octopus was not over cooked and chewy. Dessert was bread pudding, whichw as moist and creamy with bits of caramel. Wine was a carafe the house made sirah I must confess I was very suprised by the quality of the food, my expectations was quiet low have rarely had a good food experience in a music venue. In terms of price this place was relatively expensive in my opinion of the level of food, they offer but they do have a pretty focused menu and I would rather have better food at higher prices that enhaced my experience than disappointed food which would have left me in a bad mood for the performance.

Flew into La Guardia on a rainy night so we decided to give Minca a try. It was Wednesday around 9ish, tables were all full but 2 bar seats were available.. Fantastic! We shared an order of the pork gyoza and the tsukemen ramen. Ive had tsukemen at Tsujita LA many times and was really excited to try Mincas. They brought out the braised pork and mushroom first. 10 minutes later came our noodles and broth. The pork and mushroom were cold as it was sitting there for so long but we scarfed it down as we were so hungry from our long flight. The noodles al dente and tasted like the ones served at Tsujita. It was thick and chewy just how I like it. The most disappointing part of this experience was the broth. It was so watery and plain. I was expecting a thicker broth and more flavor. We were torn but couldnt say anything as our server was extremely nice and we were exhausted.
