Sorry, I have bad service every time I come here. I feel as if Im treated like Im unwanted. Im cast aside in the back each time.. and the food is not prepared well for me. This will be the last time. I ordered a shrimp tempura and a sumo roll. The tempura roll was freezing cold, every tempura roll Ive had has a little temp to it because of the fried shrimp. The tempura was very hard and crunchy. The sumo roll was supposed to have shrimp tempura in it. It had imitation crab tempura. I mentioned this to the waiter who stated the sumo roll has shrimp AND crab in it. Which I didnt remember if so, but checking the online menu home as I remembered before ordering, it does not. Because Im sure I would remember if it included crab. But there was no shrimp and fried imitation crab. I believe that they may think people dont know what theyre eating because the rolls can be similar. But that was a cheap way of preparing my roll. To put fried fake crab instead of my shrimp I had paid for. I eat a lot of sushi and I know what I ordered. This was for my daughters birthday, and I wasnt too happy. Will continue to take the 45 min drive to kotos Syracuse mall. The best Ive had so far!

This restaurant sucks! Been there one time and the food was totally disgusting! The manager uses a lot of MSG! They also hide profits and hires illegal immigrants working in the restaurant. Many of the workers are reporting low and incorrect taxes. Please report on this restaurant. This restaurant deserves punishment as the manager are committing illegal activities. Food inspections must also need to be perform!! Please advise that hiring illegal immigrants washing dishes in the restaurant and reporting false income/ profit to the IRS and government is committing illegal activities and must be resolved as soon as possible. This restaurant earns up to $30000 to $40000 per day on most days and charges ridiculously on customers for tips/ gratitude.

Weve eaten here twice now, and will definitely be back for more. Once was in the normal dining side, the 2nd visit was for one of the hibachi tables. Even though we had reservations, we still ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes, but I expect they will get better at gauging times as they get used to their success. Food was top notch, and the entertainment by the cooks was first rate. Ive eaten at both places in Syracuse, and Sumo trumps them in terms of quality of food and entertainment value.

Ive been to a ton of hibachi restaurants and this was by far the worst. Rice tasted like dirt/grity, everything was super salty and just not appetizing. The Saki they shoot in your mouth got all over the place and smelled funny.Their sushi is the worst sushi ive ever had also. If you want a good hibachi place... take the 40ish minute drive to syracuse and eat at Ichiban.

Best Japanese restaurant around. They serve the Japanese classics but the sushi and sashimi selection is my favorite. A must try appetizer is "Tuna Dumpling" - spice snow crab inside covered with honey wasabi sauce. But if you want something other than sushi or sashimi, hibachi is always a great alternative.

I am new to Utica and was surprised to find a sushi place that was so good. It is a little pricey but when it comes to sushi quality, you get what you pay for. If your on a budget like me, go for the lunch prices or take out. Try the Green River Role if you are a sushi lover!

Absolutely my favorite place to eat, you not only get great food cooked right in front of you Hibachi Grill Style but you get entertained as well by some serious top-notch chefs and free sake while you dine. The bar itself is a little bit pricey but its so worth it.

We LOVE Sumos. It is such entertainment and the food is wonderful. My 2 Grand daughters couldnt talk about anything else the day after we took them to Sumos. They loved it. We did too, and we are frequent visitors!

Awesome place for birthdays or any special occasion they have a hibachi show or you can do table or sushi bar dining. Their sushi taste amazing must try their ocean roll and sumo roll. Those are 2 of my favorites

Yummy food here. The hibachi grill and performance is supercool. I appreciate the miso and mayo dipping sauces. The meat and seafood are prepared perfectly. Birthdays held here are awesome.

It would be helpful when they put their hours of being open - that when it says they close at 10 - its really that the doors are open till 10 but the kitchen closes at 9:30. ridiculous.

Ive eaten at Sumo several times, trying both the Hibachi & regular dining, and each time to food was delicious, and the service was great! Definitely worth a try, not one to miss!

Average in every way. Slow service and not very helpful. Average rolls and some were a little soft and the rice kept falling off. Ambiance is cool and restaurant is fairly large.
