I visited this restaurant while attending a wedding. Our server Isaac was hilarious, inviting, and made the whole room fun (while even making sure to attend to our youngest attendee when he accidentally spilled a dish). The serving staff was knowledgeable and amazing, just the mere mention of "gluten-free" was not the sometimes worrying experience it can be. The server Colin immediately knew what to look for, provided gluten free soup, soy sauce, and dressings, and made sure our chef was informed with no hesitation. Our chef Joe was similarly well informed and even made sure to ask about the severity of my allergy so he could make arrangements for completely quarantined cooking if necessary. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. I have been to probably a dozen hibachi restaurants, and this was hands-down the best. Literally the only thing I could ask is for them to open a location in Cincinnati (far fetched though it may be).

Based on last experience. Its been great other times. It was Jan 28th Sat at 7pm. Place was packed. They were understaffed, took a while to get anything at all. We didnt get discouraged. If anything we felt bad for our server. He was running around frantically. Food finally came out it was good. However the server added in the gratuity for his check stating their was 6 of us counting my 2 year old daughter as an adult. Techinically only 5 of us my daughter shared my food.. That irritated me because I planned on tipping him out very generously, but I felt like he was taking that away from me because he thought he was going to get stiffed. Did I mention our food came out one person at a time. I like to watch others eat while I wait in anticipation. Honestly the food was great. Service, not so much.

The service was horrible! Seated 40min after our reservation, had one person running entire front of restaurant incl the bar--cant be done by the way. Had to wait 20-25min to get one drink while we waited. Had to watch 10 college kids make drunken idiots of themselves while we were ignored for an 1hr...literally seated at habachi grill for an hour watching the other side eat, drink and be merry while my family my children and a US Marine on our side went hungry....it was not until I confronted our drink waitress that the chef showed up. The food once presented was good. Was there 3hours total did not eat for 1st 2hours....avoid this place like the plague.

Had an opportunity to eat lunch here last week. The sushi " boat" that came out for the three of us was beyond compare in presentation & taste. The quality of the different fish types was tremendous. Joe and Anna are the friendliest restaurant owners Ive ever met! They will make sure that you are 100% satisfied. Food is always amazing and they even named a sushi roll after me!!! Ask them for the special "Ruben roll" if you something delicious thats not on the menu. We ate here so much, the owners treat us like family.

The food was not great as far as sushi and sashimi are concerned. Mediocre at best. The house salad had lots of water in the bowl. There are definitely better Japanese restaurants in New Hartford for the same price. Sumos has much better quality and atmosphere, and their food is reliable time after time.

The quality and service at this restaurant is better than anywhere else in the Utica Rome area. Their lunch menu is one of the greatest values around. They have the best sushi and sashimi in the area. The calamari and rock shrimp appetizers are amazing. Very under appreciated restaurant in this area.

Best sushi around! Service is excellent & great variety of rolls. Monday night they have a special on the sushi & on Tuesdays they even do buy one, get one half off on the hibachi! Definitely reccomend. They even have a private room for parties and a rewards card! Favorite restaurant around!

It was my fist time and it was nice not overly noisey and it was neat to watch the gentleman cook the food in front of you Food was very good I had a spicy crabmeat crunchy salad that was Delicious. Their soda is different as they dont use brand name products. I will be going back again

Always sit at the bar for the best service, especially when you are only concerned about sushi! Yellow dragon for health and a crazy Friday roll for a crash your diet delight! Seaweed salad and goat cheese wontonsare a must have staple too.
