What an exquisite restaurant in so many ways tucked away in the heart of Malverne village! A hidden gem if you will, upon the recommendation of a good friend I couldnt wait to check out the much talked about hype, beautiful stone outside w a large pane glass window showcasing the beautiful stacked bar with patrons, as we entered through the beautiful large wooden and metal door the gracious hostess was waiting for us, luckily I made reservations and we only had to wait a couple minutes, like some of the other reviews stated it does remind you a little bit of medieval times LOL but in a good way, just has a cozy rustic feel, dimly lit ,nicely decorated with Italian scenic pictures & large melting candles w a wonderful aroma throughout, the dining room was almost 3/4 full on a Sunday evening, wifey & i were seated by a couple large parties, and the noise level still wasnt that bad, we immediately got water and wonderful fresh warm and lightly toasted Italian bread with a mouth watering dipping sauce consisting of finely chopped what tasted like cannelloni beans Parmesan a little garlic and olive oil mixture, creamy goodness !! I was wise not to load up on the bread though and youll see why !Luis came over to take our drink order and seemed very nice and informative, after a couple nice house white wines, we delved in! Had to go with the much raved about egg plant balls! OMG! They were gone as soon as the food runner dropped the plate on the table!, Im not even a huge eggplant fan but just the way they were prepared w great texture, just the right amount of eggplant and italian herb mixture and the sauce was just nothing but flavor & perfection! Tasted homemade as can be like Nonna was in the back rollin em!Lol,onto the Brussels sprouts!yes I said brussels sprouts, perfectly sautéed w balsamic vinaigrette, parmesan reggiano of crse, pancetta and I believe pignoli nuts.. outstanding! And good for you!Lol,the burrata was next & like the rest certainly did not disappoint!came w roasted peppers and grilled hot copa! The Burrata cheese was so creamy and to grill the hot copa was ingenius! Amazing flavor throughout!, A must have order!trust me,now I love how Luis the waiter brought the Burrata cheese as the middle course!, no rush feeling here, finally onto dinner! I went with the special venison ravioli! I listened my fellow yelp elite reviewers after they stated the specials should not be ignored here! Boy were they right,Even though the menu entrées are outstanding by themselves, this was an amazing dish especially if you are a fan of venison like I am, you could tell it was made fresh that afternoon, the venison meat was so tasty & tender, not to salty and the sauce on this this was just absolutely mouthwatering in every way! Im still licking my chops morning after!wifey went with the gnocchi and was able to pick her sauce, she went with butter/sage, great portion great flavor perfectly rolled gnocchi that was some of the best I have had after I had to twist her arm to share!Lol finishing up with a totally rewarding brownie crumble dessert was the perfect completion to a phenomenal dinner that has me wanting to go back for more!!Well Done

Went here in December........Never again ! Worst meatballs ever had (all 3 different kinds) pasta, and everything else. Very dissapointed and surprised because most food we had from Antonios Deli.(.same owner) was excellent. Great atmosphere, great service but no holiday decor, although restaurant was very clean,Horrible tasting food and Very expensive. Owner was there and Never greeted our group of 10. Thats the 2nd Malverne restaurant that I can never go back to if they paid me. We couldn"t believe how bad the holiday food tasted. I mean how do you mess up pasta? We all felt the same......Never again !

My review is very mixed: Excellent food, have been twice so far. The building and parking lot are very cramped however, and the whole experience is certainly not tailored for small children and those with special needs. Waitress the second time around (a Tuesday night) was unknowledgeable about the menu and impatient with questions (on the weekend we had better service). Not extremely vegetarian friendly. As far as dishes go, would highly recommend the Gnocchi! Wine selection is exceptional. Overall would recommend but get a reservation and scope out the menu beforehand. Wear layers as they keep it cold.

Would love to give them 5 stars, but service was poor , waitress was a bit rough around the edges, made numerous mistakes, insisted that food she brought over to us was what we ordered, didnt want to bring it back to kitchen!! blamed us for pronouncing the appetizer correctly!! came to our table 2x, throughout all courses served and only 5 tables in restaurant.

This is a happy place. There is a great inexpensive wine selection along with good bourbons and whiskeys and of course, eggplant "meat"balls. Theres a dinning room but grab a bar seat or at the large communal table and shoot the poop with new friends while eating a tasty meatball or eggplant ball or whatever they are serving. Loads of fun off the beaten path!
