I have enjoyed the Laurel Diner since the early 1970s and was really quite excited about the fun and beautiful renovation. Last night a brought a friend from out of town to share the Long Beach landmark. Im hoping it was an off night. I ordered a steak sandwich and a shake. The shakes at the Laurels have been legend. That wasnt the case last night. The "ice cream" was on par with McDonalds stuff. I know real ice cream is costly, but this stuff tasted nasty. Last shake Ill buy here. Thats over. The steak? I know it was a stretch ordering steak at a diner, but we do go back 40 years... It was foul tasting grizzle. Do the owners ever try this stuff, or is it just coming from the bottom line of Performance Food Groups order form? Please, guys -- your love for your business is evident by your devotion, work ethic and design, down to your menus beautiful graphics. Its time to get back to the business at hand -- the food. What you served me last night just didnt rate, it wasnt acceptable by any standard and it dares me never to return. I hate losing an old friend, and well wait awhile and give you guys one more chance. Youve been good friends, neighbors and just about family. But this guy cant pay for stuff like this more than once.

My friends and I had a horrible experience. We were seated at a table and we just wondered if any booths were available in the back & we were rudely told by the hostess that there is none and its "literally the same thing in the front but in the back." Then our waitress came, and acted miserable, not one smile, she was just going through the motions. When our food came, she knocked over my friends lemon on the glass of water and she under her breath said sorry & just threw the lemon back onto the table. Also the fries were bland & the mozzarella sticks werent great either. Next, our waitress NOT ONCE came to the table & asked us if everything was going okay or if we needed anything. Then, another waiter came to our table and asked if we ordered 3 chocolate milkshakes(we didnt) and my friend said no, and then made a joke saying "well take them anyway!" trying to get a laugh out of the guy, and he gave my friend a nasty look and walked away. What a way to treat a paying customer. The only thing positive about this diner was the smoothie I ordered. Service is trash. Left a penny as a tip. Never again coming back.

I have been a customer of the Laurel Luncheonette for over 30 years. From a little boy walking in with my buddies for the wide variety of candy to a couple of Cherry Lime Rickeys. I have seen the laurel pass through a few different owners only to end up in the hands of the Loucas family. They take such pride in their food and service! They completely renovated the restaurant from top to bottom for the first time since the laurel opened in over 80 years. By far the best the Laurel has been since I have been going. Not to mention the only place to get food immediately after Superstorm Sandy for weeks if not months!! If you havent stopped in to grab a bite for lunch or a laurel breakfast, then you should. There isnt a line out the door every weekend because the food is terrible, Its Worth The Wait!!!

How come this owner hasnt opologized to we post you decide ? what does he have against the one complaining here ? if this is how this owner responds to complaints, imagine in person. ok my wife and I stopped by her lastnight, this is not a diner nor fine dining, no tables with table clothes, no one escorted us to a table, we had to seat ourself, anyone interested in witnessing is welcome to know what we found out, the counter area was done over, where the cooks are is now enclosed, you can no longer view your meal being made. my wife works for the Suffolk County court system, the owner had better get rid of the poor reviews before he tries to sue us and press charges ? 240.26 penal law, alarm has been dropped. Majestic Diner is a Diner This is a made over luncheonette

No Trip Advisor Tag on this store.Low class standards, patrons who follow waitresses like puppies around the store. Ask for a second cup of coffee waitress resisted, new owner who is obsessed with good reviews even though some patrons had a bad experience. The reviews are the nature of ones business. Owner slandered a friend here online over his review, actually threatening to arrests him maliciously. Sanity issues at this business. Read reviews from trip advisor. False review ? I will be by to video tape the business and upload to youtube and take pics at my leisure. Andrew, you instill fear into no one here pal. Still waiting for your internet investigators after what, months ?

Absolutely horrible. Service is the worst. We were seated in the kitchen practically. Dishes were slung behind us, floors were swept under our feet while trying to eat. It took the waiter 17 minutes exactly until we were greeted. We were served oir soups before we even got our drinks. Then our drinks were served to us in kid cups because they werw out of big cups. The place wasnt even packed. The hostess, waiter and cashier had the most horrible attitudes. DONT WASTE URR TIME!!!! The food at the Long Beach Diner and the service is by far way better.

Ive been to the Laurel Luncheonette twice since the reopening. Although the food is great, I will not be returning with my family until something is done about the poor customer service. Rudeness makes an appearance in small but noticeable ways. Just a few weeks since the reopening and every time we needed our waitress she was nowhere to be found. There are other significant shortcomings mainly having to do with the help. The veteran waitstaff is the worst because they act as though they can do it anyway they like. Major management flaw.

My friend and I walked in and were seen by multiple employees as we stood there. We then proceeded to sit down and were not even acknowledged for at least 3 minutes. We both ordered burgers which were pretty good for a diner burger but fries were $3.50 extra which is ridiculous in my opinion if Im paying $8.50 for a burger. At the end of our meal we sat at the booth for what it seemed like forever as they did not bring us the check for a solid 15 minutes. All in all wasnt a horrible experience but would not recommend.

The service here is excellent. Our waiter was nice, funny, and strived to make our experience comfortable. They made sure that we were always filled up with water, and that we had everything we needed. They even went above and beyond to fit our needs. The restaurant was incredibly clean and the environment was enjoyable. On top of that, the food came quick and was delicious. Also, the serving sizes are big, they really make sure your filled up. They will definitely be seeing me again!

we too exp. the same conduct as otter patrons, we in a party of ten had no where to be seated after making a call here and at time specified, we did witness patrons very loud. We post you decide is correct on their site and their report, sad how andrew suffers from schizophrenia. we do read about his opologies, not to We post you decide, something wrong there, I see harassment and no recourse. Hes targeting them and not the others. Hudson street, Long Beach east end
