Be sure you place a reservation beforehand. Theyre still willing to work with you to seat you, so this wasnt an issue for us, in fact we didnt even have to wait. Staff was very friendly and helpful and definitely made us feel welcome. Also they bring various fresh baked muffins and rolls to the table before the meal which was a nice touch! This place is very expensive. Some menu items are reasonably priced for a nicer/higher-end restaurant, others are grossly overpriced. I was tempted to get a taco salad and really regret not getting it. The Italian Pot Pie sounded interesting despite being $15 (making it the most expensive pot pie on the menu). I dont normally go for expensive, but it was a good day and it seemed appropriate to try new things, I assumed I was in for a treat. This being a nicer/higher-end restaurant, I expected presentation would be taken into consideration but it was a bowl on a much larger plate with no side or garnish, making it a much larger, otherwise empty plate. Not a big deal, though I was surprised by the portion size for the price paid. I decided they must have priced it per the ingredients and that this would be a very delicious dish, surely. At $7-$8 for this dish I would have described this as a good meal at a diner. At $15 in a nicer restaurant, I was thoroughly unimpressed. We did order dessert, but I was alarmed that they did not have a dessert menu, instead the waitresses were expected to remember the desserts. That would be fine except after that $15 price gouge, I wanted to know prices of the dessert. My friends were happy ordering without knowing prices so I figured I was "in for a penny, in for a pound" as the British saying goes. I ordered the ice cream with creme de menthe. Geez, talk about literal. Somebody put 1 scoop of ice cream in a dish and poured creme de menthe over it. Apparently this restaurant wants to be a fancy restaurant but apart from price gouging and going el cheapo on a dish that *sounds* fancy, they have no idea how to get themselves up to that kind of status. Overall, I would say Id go back if I were in the area. My friends meals looked good and the taco salad that I wished I had gotten was a portion size that was appropriate for the price (one of my friends ordered it). But Ill never order anything with a price over $10 there and Ill never order anything that sounds fancy there either. They need to keep it simple. Wanted to give 3/5 stars but apparently I just bought all the worst/overpriced items on the menu. Try to avoid those when ordering!

Beware. I worked here for a short time & was horrified of the practices & how they cook there menu. The chef had me cook 3 day over expired angus burgers. The leaf lettuce isnt washed, the potatoes arent washed before cooking. Theres 2 microwave on the line. 76% of the menu is reheated in a microwave (liver, porterhouse, meatballs, stuffed mushrooms, beef pot pie, Alfredo, liver, meatloaf, clams). Reheated or thawed from frozen in a microwave. Even the fresh muffins & breads are microwaved & wrapped up so you think its hot out of the oven. Nothing is seasoned & the frozen carrots they use are reheated in hot water with nothing else. And again I never seen a tomato or cucumber get washed. Not 1 time. This place should be ashamed at how little detail is put into the quality of food.

This is one of those places that, once youre a regular, youre a member of their family. There are fancier restaurants, but the combination of food, ambience and service is truly unique, something Ive enjoyed since the restaurant opened in the early 90s. Dont see it on the menu? Theyll give it a try. Want a special that you had the last time you were there? Not a problem. And the catering: theyve done several parties for me, and they do a wonderful job for HALF of what anyone else charges.

Friendly, homey, welcoming, delicious. Its easy to describe this restaurant. We typically visit for breakfast and despite not visiting for months at a time, the waitresses knows our drink order and food choices. Granted, we always get the full stack of coconut French toast - you have to try it... its that good. When we have eaten dinner at the D&R Depot, its always been excellent. Definitely recommend taking the short drive from Rochester.

I had a casual business breakfast here with colleagues. The steak and eggs were delicious, steak cut being Filet Mignon... Breakfast potatoes yummy and wheat toast... Pleasant coffee, bold and tasty... My colleagues had crunchy Coconut French toast and the other had a monstrous omelette with fresh fruit... Total bill: $31 bucks! Service was prompt and friendly. What a find! Highly recommended.

Beautiful and quant place to eat. The food is excellent. Love the two celling decorations which are Upside Down renditions with trains included. And one more point, I love the sweet hostess who greets and seats you and later comes by to see how your food is. She is the Sweetest "Grandmother" roll model ...

Service was a little slow, but it was well worth it. Food was excellent. Servers were very nice and cute. I had a very warm feeling while dinning. From out of town, plan to make a special trip back and I will be sure to share my great experience with friends. Thank you D&R Depot for an excellent lunch.

This place was really good. Its an old train station and really cute. I took a star off because the wait for the food was ridiculous. It was only my table and another table. The wait for the food was at least 35 mins which was a little ridiculous for only two tables

Price was a little high for the amount of food you get, BUT the quality makes up for it. Paleo, whole 30, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. They even has saltless salt on the tables! Read more on my travel blog: datesinthestates.com

A railroad depot turned restaurant, the atmosphere is awesome. The service is the friendliest in the business and on top of their game . The food keeps us coming back whenever we happen to be in the area. Anyone who loves pancakes must stop!

The ambiance is awesome - especially for the holidays - the servers and staff are great, but the food comes out a bit bland. In our party of 6, half had this opinion. Mind you, there were no bad meals! Just left a bit to be desired.

This place is a hidden gem, the atmosphere is quaint, cute, great quality. The manager is very attentive, the food is very good. If you are cruising down i90 going west or east take a 4 mile detour to D&R Depot

Excellent food and service! The chicken pot pie must have had at least 2 whole breast because it was so much and well seasoned. The steak was very tender and cooked to perfection. We cant wait to visit again.
