The sandwich was AWESOME - i know the word is over used but it was. The staff was either great or not so great - two staffers were standing around eating - yep - eating - and one guy kept getting in the way of customers while shoving down a bbq sandwich - very irritating and unappealing - an older gentleman waited on me to check out and was very friendly - gave you the feeling he had been there since the 60s? The young man that made my sandwich was enthusiastic but when asked which is most popular the corned beef or pastrami his answer was "I dont eat either - corned beef kinda freaks me out so I guess pastrami" - NICE SELLING DUDE! I didnt ask what you wanted for lunch - I asked which was most popular - oh well got the pastrami toasted and it was really, really good - so two thumbs up for food - two thumbs sideways for staff.

Our coach ordered dinner from here for our team after our track meet and after seeing some teammates take out some excellent looking salads I was excited to receive my salad. I was extremely disappointed with my order however received a small box with barely anything in it. It was a pile of sad lettuce and "toppings" with a very burned vegan burger on top that was increible salty. It literally looked like a pile of old compost vegetables. I had to throw it out. The only redeeming quality was the excellent cookie and hope that if I ordered a Sandwhich which next time it would look and taste as good as the ones I saw. Im sorry but if my restaurant sentnout something that looked like that "salad" I would be extremely embarrassed. My review remains at 2 stars at most till next time I have to order through the team.

So how much credit can you give a place for assembling a sandwich to order? I sort of wrestled with this a little bit, but having had sandwiches at all sorts of restaurants and delis something about Shortstops is a cut above. The other day I went there on my way back from the Commons and got a simple turkey and swiss on whole wheat with fixings. The quality of the ingredients was great and the sandwich was almost two typical sandwiches thick. It hit the spot. If this were closer to my job I would be eating lunch there all the time. And as an aside, my girlfriend was buying me lunch and when she paid the lady at the cash register said, "Thank you, baby," which was really cute.

I went here A LOT last winter, simply because I work late and its the only place you can get a warm meal at like 3am. Sandwiches are affordable with an okay selection of breads, fillings, and fixins. My orders been dramatically screwed up a couple of times (Egg salad instead of tuna salad? Veggie burger patties instead of seitan??) but I can forgive two bad mistakes out of, say, 40 orders. Nice place to grab a quick sandwich and a couple of packaged snacks late at night.

Nothing is better than a Sui at 2 in the morning. I load mine up with all the vegetables and multiple sauces. Its messy and hits the spot! I have also eaten here at more reasonable hours of the day - their toasted subs are delicious! They have great deals on the breakfast sandwiches if you go there before 10am. In addition to good grub - they have a great selection of coffees with unique flavors! They may just be drip but they do the trick and add variety.

After a very disappointing meal at Moosewood the night before, we decided to stop at SSSS for a seitan sub, hoping for some vegetarian redemption. Boy did we get it. Absolutely, hands down, the best sub Ive had in years. I am back home in PA today, wishing I had packed a few to bring home. DO NOT miss this place. I hope my daughter picks Ithaca College so I can hang out here all weekend.

Their coffee cups are horrible!!!!! I actually really like their food and their coffee. If it wasnt for their coffee cups Id give them five stars. But I am so sick of getting coffee from them and having it explode all over my car! I dont spill a drop of coffee with any other businesses cups but for some reason the ones at shortstop drip, and spit out coffee all over the place.

Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for all your Hot Truck food cravings. Its so good -- there is no other place in the country like it. Ive lived all over and even tried to replicate the recipe to no avail. Every time I am in town, this is a mandatory stop. The pizza subs are of course my favorite, but its also a pretty good deli in its own right.

I travel a lot.... So that means Im a traveler. When one travels, things like space and time converge and dissipate....So when Im Travelling through The Time with my Wife , we peruse here at 1, 2, 3am. I keep my 2 friends with me :Smith & Wesson , while the Mrs holds stagecoach with the shotgun while I advance towards the unlocked Time Machine. Good, toasted meal.

Outrageously good subs but the prices are appalling. A footlong (a double) is upwards of $10-$11. Whenever at home and I want to go out to eat ShortStop always is weighed against all the other options in the area and I inevitably go somewhere else because I dont want to pay $10 for a sub. I have to reallllllly be craving it to actually go.

Its Ithacas only 24hr deli. They are a little pricey but you can get anything you want, for example a grand slam, soup and soda is almost $20. This place was a must stop after the bars for a quick meal before home... Dont get me wrong you do get a lot of toppings for the price, but its defiantly not sub-way $5 foot-long.

I love this place. When I lived in the Binghamton area Id take a ride here for some lunch or dinner. Now that I live in the Scranton area I do the same. Great place to get some really great sandwiches. Usually pretty quick and reasonable prices. Parking becomes a problem when the ice cream place next to the deli is open.

I ordered a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, and it was the best sandwich Ive had in a long time. I rank it in the Top 20 meals Ive had so far. For under $10, I got a medium sandwich, a large drink, and a huge cookie! And the drink was only 25 cents! I give this place 5 stars.

Been coming here for over 10 years now since I was an Undergraduate at RIT. Their "hot truck" sandwiches are still delicious and you can add a fountain drink for about 10 cents. Careful with the grand slam - its a lot of food. I will definitely come back.

Seriously is the worst place I have ever had a sandwich! We got an Ithaca Cheesesteak and there wasnt enough meat to cover the roll and was 1/2 inch thick in the very center! It cost $12.00! We threw away 2" of bread all the way around the outside of it!

I grew up eating shortstop subs.. I no longer live in Ithaca but I go home every summer and it is the first place I go to eat... multiple times! I may be a little bias knowing the owners but I promise you will agree that they have the best subs in the area!
