I vacillated between 4 and 5 stars here, but after consulting with my husband, decided upon 4 stars but Ill explain the missing star later. First, I want to say that I had a fantastic time! As a new mom, its a rare opportunity to get a little dressed up and go out on the town with my husband, while babe sleeps at home under a babysitters watch. I hate to waste such a chance and City Winery did not disappoint! We were at City Winery to see Leo Kottke, one of my husbands favorite musicians. I was also at City Winery for the wine and the ambience, a feeling that I got just from looking at the website. I knew it wouldnt disappoint! We had seats at the "VIP" table on the main floor, with an excellent view of the stage, in the banquette seats. We shared our table with 6 perfectly nice, non-annoying strangers (I worried a little bit, I did!). It being a winery and all, the wine list is extensive and our waitress was very helpful in guiding us towards a great, inexpensive bottle of Malbec (she asked, "under or over 50?"). There is also a pairing menu, white wine on one side of the menu, red on the flip side. It provides a diagram of which wines go with which small plates. We stuck to that menu, and ordered a cheese plate, a salami plate and one small dish each. I had the scallops, which were delicious (a little too done for my tastes but not overcooked at all... I just like em on the raw side!). My husband ordered the sliders, which comes with either salad or fries. (He asked for salad, but got fries. No biggie, I suppose...). We ended the night with coffee (me), double espresso (him) and a molten lava chocolate souffle. And now for the missing star... I loved the intimate, jazzy feel of the place but some might find it a little TOO intimate, especially if youre a big, tall guy like my husband. He felt that the layout and table arrangements couldve been altered to provide more space. Next time, well get the VIP seats up on the mezzanine. (No banquette seats up there but you get your own table, and room to stretch your legs...) All in all, Im definitely going back here... Id like to try the brunch and its a good place to meet someone for a drink at the bar.

I dont eat fast food much but when Im in the mood for some I will sometimes swing by this checkers. They make great fries and milkshakes! I know some people have complained about the service but I never really had an issue with anyone at this particular checkers. Sometimes the wait is a bit long but they seem to be busy whenever I do end up going so its understandable

I was in shocked when all my food was burned last night.The nw Cheddar shrimp and fries were overcooked and slighly burned.The fish sandwich was slightly burned.The lemondade was water fown.The only thing was good was the mozzarella sticks.Shocked because I have been eating there for years.Not sure if its new management but the food was horrible.

Best Checkers I have been to. Unlike other Checkers, food is actually served fresh here. Fries & burgers are awesome. This location actually has a drive-thru. The only thing about this place, doesnt have indoor seating. Service needs improvement, especially in the night.

The people working the drive thru are ridiculous twice on two different occasion I had to park my car get out go in the store to redeem items they forgot to put in my order smh I like the food but the nonchalant attitudes is enough to make me spend my money elsewhere.
