This place is a solid 4 because of the food. Service for us was excellent but I could so how it could be sub par. It was two of us and we chose to sit in the bottom floor. I didnt know this restaurant had so many tables. I definitely prefer the bottom floor but you do hear the subway. Other than that, its quiet, clean air, and you get a table for 6 all to yourselves =P (Well, thats what we had). It was quiet and very pleasant. We ordered Beef Stew Noodle Soup, Pork chop over rice, Sauteed Chinese Crest, and Chicken and Ginseng Soup. The food sounds better in chinese but anyways. All these dishes reminded me a of California. However, I think these dishes that we had were better than the ones in CA. The flavors were all there but felt much cleaner and the sauteed chinese crest was not as oily and they used tons of garlic which was awesome. They did not skimp out on ingredients. The beef stew noodle soup was not salty at all and they give you lots of meat!! I will say that the meat could be a little more tender, but I wasnt complaining because it really was like comfort food. The water was nice and chilled and the waitress even filled out water and tea at least twice. Probably more service than what Ill get at majority of chinese restaurants. The pork chop over rice was not overly fried and not salty at all. It was on the drier side but I was able to forgive that because of everything else. I do also wish they had more vegetables with the dish but I could see how the sour flavor from the vegetables could over power the dish. The ginseng soup used a lot of ingredients. They even used this little red bean/seed like ingredient which my family uses to sweeten up the soup. I know that ingredient isnt exactly cheap and I was surprised that they had it in the soup. One cool thing is that they give you free salted peanuts and this chili radish dish. Loved it. Definitely made it a more "Taiwanese" restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place and come here again and again!

Some things never change - this restaurant has stayed consistent even though the area around it has changed so much, albeit at a much slower pace than Downtown Flushing. Food: the three cups chicken here is significantly less oily than the ones offered by other places. The fried shrimp was great, but our fish was overcooked and flavorless, and our dried tofu, Chinese celery with pork was also less flavorful than expected. Service: the servers appear to know almost everyone in the restaurant. Our server even didnt have to write down anything we ordered, though she forgot one of our items, which we ordered again, of course. Tea is plentiful, but hot water appears scarce. Decor: this place has stayed pretty clean despite its age. Theres a parking lot in the rear - a must for an area as congested as this. I shall return.

Ive been coming here since the 80s, back when it was in Jackson Heights by 82nd Street and called "Three Rice Bowls" after a former red-light district in Taipei -- but this place, after changing owners at least three times in as many decades, just gets worse and worse service...the foods definitely good, though every five years or so someone tinkers with the recipes but theyll deny anythings changed: most recently, they made the stinky tofu dish a peppery-hot one (as opposed to the old garlicky-oniony affair they had since the 80s) but claimed nothings changed at all -- and then after a year or so switched back to the former style! Interestingly, this place gets a ton of hispanic guests...maybe thats why the recipes keep getting changed??

Im so surprised they failed on this simple Taiwanese noodle soup! Their chief is not Taiwanese and only few are Taiwanese staff. Obviously, you can fake on the outside but you can never cheat on the taste. No real Taiwanese will go there after few times try. The food sucks!!!! Even random Taiwans street food is wayyyyyyyy much better than this so called traditional Taiwanese cuisine. Im very disappointed.

If youve never experienced Taiwanese food but would like to try this is the place to do it. I have been to Taiwan multiple times and sometimes just crave some authentic Taiwanese food. This place does not disappoint. All the staff members are extremely friendly and the service is top notch. The food comes out of the kitchen really fast and you cant really go wrong with anything that you order there.

Very solid Taiwanese food in a city that does not have all that great a representation of the cuisine (compared to, say, Dallas). Of the many items that Ive ordered ranging far and wide, the only problem that Ive found was the level of saltiness. Everything is invariably a bit saltier than I would like, causing a massive thirst for hours thereafter. N.B., they open until 2 am everyday.

Great service, friendly staff. My favorite dish is chicken leg over rice. I literally get it every time I get takeout from here, and so do several of my friends. They recently came under new ownership I believe. Prices went up a dollar or two. Still worth it for that leg.

Customer service is good, the employees are really friendly. The atmosphere is good, giving you a friendly feeling. If you are the type that likes to eat in quiet places, I dont suggest you eat in. The food is also good, and it prices are in the mid range.

Assembly line generic Taiwanese food. Everything was average at best. Good prices but the food is honestly just not that good, and not authentic, i believe their original chef left as it used to be very good years ago. There are better places nearby.

Reasonably authentic Taiwanese food and best Chinese/Taiwanese nearby. Overall good quality dishes just some have too much oil. Prices are reasonable for its portion. Lots of seating but maybe bad air sometimes at lower level.

Delicious and authentic Taiwanese food! It looks small but there is a basement and its open late. Just be prepared to drink an extra cup of water when you go home; many of the most delicious dishes are a bit salty.

Delivery dishes can be very inconsistent, especially shrimp dishes. In restaurant is much better but can have a long wait at peak hours. Overall food is good and go regularly, just delivery is inconsistent.

Luv the specialty dishes. Beef chili is great. Basil clams awesome. Pork tofu with celery. Lot of other favorites include chicken and other exotic dishes. Writing this makes me want to visit again.

Stopped by here for a quick meal of pork chops over rice; my wife got shredded pork with noodled. The food was cheap, delicious and large portions. Service was quick. Great value in Elmhurst.

Ive been there twice and tried several dishes. NONE of them satisfied me!!! They even use microwave to heat the food, can you imagine that? I am not there for microwaved food !

This is a popular place with good food. It opens late so it is a great option for late night. The feedback from Taiwanese foodie friends was the it didnt quite feel like home.

Lots of traditional favorites, the pork chop with rice is the standard bearer of Taiwanese cuisine (at least for the working class) and they do this dish very well.
