Buffalo guy born and raised I generally enjoy any restaurant in the area, my childhood friend returned home with his new Fiancee from San Fran and he wanted to show her a great hockey expierence. So after Party @ the plaza....Pearl St. 1) gave our reservations for 10 away to some drunks that squatted at the table they had set aside for us.(made 7 days in advance) 2) attempted to seat us in the only corner of the bar without a tv (that was our only reservation request) 3) argued with us, saying we never requested that, even though the day of they called and we again confirmed our reservation and the request 4) Ordered 2 tubes (100oz beers) for our table, the waitress came back 20mins after the order to tell us they were out of tubes, ok no problem can you just put the 100oz (of the same Beer) in Pints? Our waitress told us she would charge by the pint and its not her fault they were out of tubes. (after threatning to get 10 waters the manager stepped in and fixed this) 5) ordered 3 entrees and 100 wings. Wings came out over an hr later completely cold, entrees were fine. 6) Throw up all over the bathroom and in the only downstairs hand dryer. This issue was noticed before dinner and not resolved by the time we left 2hrs later. 7) We were overcharged (again Manager stepped in and corrected) My best friend who lives in San Fran is getting married at home in B-lo and looking for places for the reception. He was hoping his Fiancee would consider Pearl St. after this we wont even go back for drinks. I will take my business to Cobblestone, Fat Bobs or another local pub and in the mean time warn everyone if you want a place to get drunk then you may like pearl st. If your trying to entertain friends and family then head elsewhere. Im embarressed that I chose this bar to represent my city to my best friends Fiancee.

FIRST, let me start off by thanking Josh Ketry for taking the time to answer my questions via email and be SO thorough. Before even walking into Pearl Street, I felt safe and taken care of. I have celiac disease, am lactose intolerant, and multiple food intolerances. Quite often, I have what I call “out to eat anxiety” because I am fearful that my food will be cross contaminated or the kitchen will not be careful, and due to my celiac disease, lactose intolerance, and other food intolerances, I will become very sick. At Pearl Street, I walked in relaxed, and felt relaxed the ENTIRE time. Our server Kyle, was INCREDIBLE. He was friendly, but also took my conditions very seriously and said he would mark “allergy” alert all over my meal and let me build my own sandwich. The atmosphere was awesome, with sunshine and fresh air as we enjoyed our rooftop views. The food was SO DELICIOUS and Kyle was super attentive to checking on dressing ingredients for me, as well as ensuring the grill top was clean and had not been used yet, he even said "let me hurry and put this in for you before the grill is used by an other party here" and did not make me once feel annoying when I asked a slew of questions. The salad was fresh and the raspberry vinaigrette was so flavorful! The chargrilled chicken was cooked to perfection on a grill top that was not even used by anyone else yet (plus points!) and the sandwich was left open faced because Kyle “thought I might want to see each of the ingredients” which I did, so I loved this. The gluten free bread was crumbly, but still tasty, and the fact there even was a bread option, was awesome. Overall, AMAZING experience, and I WILL BE BACK!

Beer was good, atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately those are the only good things I have to say about this place. I went during a bigger event they held, and stood at the downstairs bar for 30-45 minutes waiting for a drink. Three waves of people came and went and I basically had to shove my money in her face before she served me. Then she didnt know the price of anything on the drink menu (which was overpriced). Every time you asked her something the answer was "I dont know." They kicked my friend out without her coat or phone and made her stand in 20 degree weather while I looked for her everywhere. Finally someone who worked there offered to stand with her by the coat check until I found her. He was very polite and nice and we are both incredibly thankful for his help, but when he tried to bring her in a brunette bouncer was extremely rude and DIDNT EVEN KNOW THE EMPLOYEES WHO WORKED THERE. So unprofessional. She was extremely rude to me while I was exiting the venue. Im not sure if she was a temporary bouncer hired for the event but because of her we will probably never go back. Perhaps they have good food, but I am so disgusted with the service I received I dont even want to try it.

Dissapointed. We have been to Pearl Street twice before, and both times were excellent. This time, it was uninspired at best. I had the black and blue burger, which has crumbled blue cheese and fried onions, served on a ciabatta roll. The burger was cooked correctly, Ill give them props for that, and the blue cheese was good. The rest was not so great, the fried onions were not rendered down, were thick cut and crunchy with no flavor. The ciabatta roll was served cold and was dried out, and the lettuce was yellowed and not fresh. Not what I expect from a nearly $13 burger. The fries were good, and the Smoked Gouda Beer Cheese Soup was still excellent. My wife had the Ditch Digger burger, and it was lackluster as well, cold dry roll, same lettuce, and her well done burger was beyond well and dried out. Will likely take our business somewhere else next time we are downtown, as there are many excellent other options available.

Oh I have been to this place Oh SO MANY TIMES. The beer during the game, the date by the patio, the drink with buddies or the dinner with friends and family, this place suits almost all occasions. I am particularly amused by the belt system that drives all the ceiling fans together. The patio is beautiful during the summer evenings. Oh and about the food, the pizzas are huge. The chicken and cheese buffalo nachos go well with beer. The six cheese pasta has waaay too much cheese(then again, it does say SIX cheese). My favourite entree was the Girlie chicken(Im not sure if I have the spelling right) Now to the good part, the beer. Lighthouse is my favourite light beer there. Towards the darker side, the Chocolate Stout is really good. During the season, Oktoberfest beers are splendid. You can ask the waiter for the what are the in-house seasonal beers. All in all, a place for any occasion.

The food was good overall (went with a group of about 20 people). The place is a little noisy but that is the expected ambiance of such a setting, in my opinion. The waiter we had seemed to be keen of who got what and where, which Im always glad to see. I dont drink beer, so sorry, no review on that for you but its my understanding that all drinks are brewed by them. The wings - definitely a hit in my book. The fish tacos - I enjoyed them. I like fish tacos, which is why I gravitated to this entree. The chance of them being a hit with everyone is doubtful though, as the flavors were bold, tangy, and a little sharp. From the consensus of the group though, there were great comments on the pizza, strogonoff, cheddar broccoli soup, and more, so the food seemed to be consistent in that manner. I would go back if in the area again. Just maybe not if its winter time - that snow you know.
