The owner is a miserable and inconsiderate brute, running her store with an iron hand and spittle with every word she boasts. I had stopped in to buy a large order and in the middle of the order she stopped to answer the phone and take care of that callers needs, leaving us standing there until she got off the phone. When I tired to point out a mistake she was making, her co-worker stopped me and told me to shut up, cant I see she was on the phone? When she got off and I told her about the mistake she got an attitude. I then told her to cancel the extra item she made the mistake with. She canceled the entire order and told me and my wife to leave her store. I lived in this town for decades and when this new owner took over many were concerned here in Bayside - with good cause. She is brutal and sloppy in appearance as is most of the employees there. I fear for the quality of the bakery items after such an experience. We go to this store for 30 people in our local office every Saturday - a little treatfor our workers - you can bet everyone of them will avoid this miserable bunch of people in this store and theyll tell their friends and so on. This evil person that puts her hands in our food will no longer put her disgust into mine.

Worst customer service ever!!!! Me and my sister in law stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to grab some coffee. Our waiter sat us down and we asked for two cappuccinos in a to-go-cups, since we were not sure whether we wanted to stay there or not. (At the time we were waiting for my husband, who was 8 blocks away and was supposed to arrive within 10 minutes). We were told that we cannot stay at the table if we wanted coffee-to-go, despite the fact that there were at least 10 empty tables. When I returned to the table with two coffees ( you have to get it yourself if it is not to-stay) the personnel made my sister in law get up and wait next to three empty tables, only because we were getting coffee to go. We told them that it was ridiculous, as we were paying the same price and they had 10 empty tables and no people waiting!!! We asked them if we could still sit down and if they would need a table we would of course leave , but we were still denied. I WAS APPALLED BY THE ABSURD OF THIS SITUATION!!! We ended up drinking our $6 cappuccinos sitting at a bus stop right in front of Marthas bakery. All the more upsetting is the fact that it was my favorite bakery, where I have been coming for over 7 years!!! Not anymore...

Good coffee and desserts but unfortunately the store in bayside has a disrespectful manager without leadership skills, he and few other employees walked away when intended to talked to them by the register. My question was not offensive for them to vanish just wanted to know if I could pay before sitting down since I knew exactly what I wanted. It was a yes or no question. On the top they looked at each others faces and laugh. What a shame Mr. Manager.

This is probably the best Marthas out of all 3 (but wait, I havent been to the one in Flushing, oops). Huge variety of of pastries, cakes, teas, anything you can imagine. However, my friend tried to order vegan and his choices were pretty limited. This location gets VERY CROWDED at night, during weekends. Wait time for a table after dinner is usually 20 minutes, but oh so worth it! Another thing: the pound cake to take home, not the one they serve you, is freaking delectable and very, very reasonably priced. They have them all right behind the register!

Problem here is they do not label anything but the cupcakes .so you stand in line trying to figure what you want but are moved to the front of the line to only walk back when called to try to figure what these cakes are..it would really streamline and move things along to LABEL everything ..this way when called you could tell them exactly what you want instead of backtracking and tripping over everyone trying to do the same. The cakes are awesome but the line process is annoying. LABEL label Label...is it so hard to write caramel or oreo cheesecake.

Great cafe bakery in Bayside that is a block away from the LIRR bayside station. Very convenient. Interior has ample space for sit down service for their coffees and pastries. At the counter youll see a large display of a variety of cakes, cookies, and pastries. While in the back is their cafe coffee area to make coffee and espresso drinks. Went with the peanut butter chocolate cupcake. Moist cake with a lovely tall icing that had a great peanut butter flavor with peanuts and chocolate bits. A great snack to or from your commute.

Ambience is good if youre looking for a feel-good, social, vibe while in a mood for a cafe-esque type of foods pass the usual business hours of a bakery. Waitresses are always really sweet, everyone is always busy with something, and service when seated is usually quick. The food is good, a little expensive considering the sizes of some of the deserts but if expense is an issue, there are always another item and it will usually be really good. Things to get: apple turn-over, crusted apple pie, quiche, seven layer fudge cake.

Yeah, we throw down for parking spots a few blocks away because this place is worth it. This place is ALWAYS packed, but thats not a bad thing. You get time waiting in line just blissfully imagining what itd be like if you could gobble down, in one sitting, one of every item they offer. A little diabeetus never hurt anyone, right? Berry fruit tart with fresh berries? Napoleon? Triple chocolate mousse cake? Um, yas to all of the above. Its too bad us three gals made the responsible decision to share these :]

One of the best cake in town but the workers are disgusting because of I not being a white color person they was three of they one guy a Chinese girl and white girl, they look at me as if I wanted something free had wait a good five minutes for they to finally stop talking which I did ask for help before standing wait for service wanted to leave the store by my wife really loves the cake there! But this was not the first time it happened

Great cheesecakes. They have a huuuge selection of them. Past those however (did I mention they were delicious?), they do not have a lot of choices. They have cookies, 1 napoleon, and 2 kinds of fruit tart, thats it. As a bakery, I am disappointed that they do not carry eclairs, croissants, etc... Maybe they should rename themselves Marthas Cheesecakes. Service: very good at the counter. A little slow (but still good) when you sit down.

Marthas Country Bakery is great! I was wavering between giving it 4 or 5 stars because their stuff is good, but not amazing across the board. I love coming here with friends for some sweets. I love their gelato & cakes! My new favorite item is the banana Nutella creme brûlée! Marthas gets pretty crowded at night, you can sit there or take it to go, but the wait is never really that long.
