When you first walk into HiFiRecords, its hard not to think about the amount of time, commitment, love and labor the individuals who work there contribute to make this shop come to life and stay alive. If you care at all about music and art? If you want to know what is happening culturally? RUN, dont walk to HiFi Records and absorb the heart and soul and the vibe of a community. The selection is great, their prices are fair And definitely not Overpriced like in the City & Brooklyn . Just picked a copy of Flock of Seagulls, The Cars, The Rasberries, Kiss - Love Gun, Black Sabbath 1st and some African & Turkish music for less than $70!!! Get off you asses and Go find some treasures! On another note - As a business owner I know that small businesses are too often overlook. Customers assume that pricing will automatically be higher at a small business vs. a corporate owned store, as well as they dismiss the perks that many small businesses offer such as customer care, inventory assortment and community support. Yet, many many people still consider shopping at big-box stores and their online soulless, consumerism generating pitts. If you live by the dollar you die by the dollar- and saving $1 aint worth building up the corporate giants and the death of the community shop! My 2 cents :) Happy hunting at HiFi!!!!

Phrase that comes to mind for this place is Hipster Duchebags" Worst record shop ever! Super small and super overpriced you can literally buy anything they have in the store (new or used) off-line and get it deliverd to your door for a cheaper price. I was looking for over a hour and picked out 13-15 Lps (thinking maybe we could make a deal) When I go to the counter to check out the girl tells me that anything thats not priced is not for sale. Are you f**King kidding me ??? You watched me shop and spend all that time picking things out, you couldent have said anything before hand??? What inconsiderate idiots!!! She also had no idea about records and did not know what she was selling, what records were worth, and worst and most important no knowledge of the pressings. Also who keeps merchandise thats not for sale next to the things that are for sale? Do we live in North Korea ? Super unprofessional and a waste of time. Better off shopping online.

HiFi Records is now one of my favorite record stores. If you are looking for new records at great prices in NYC, pop by. Many record stores in NYC have increased their prices tremendously. The prices here are VERY reasonable. I purchased a record for $12, while it was selling online for $16 (excluding S&H) and at other shows for $18. Not a huge price difference, but when you buy quite a number of records like I do, the savings add up. I felt like I got some good deals here. The selection was awesome. Many genres represented and are categorized quite nicely. They had an awesome New Releases section and a locals section.HiFi Records seemed to specialize in new stuff but they’re used selection, especially their New Arrivals; was very respectable. The staff is great and genuinely helpful, they gave me some stellar recommendations (and actually got them for me off the shelf). Super-nice! Next time Im in NYC, Im spending more of my cash here.

Stumbled into this place by chance and Im so happy I did! I dint know Astoria had its own record store and I couldnt be happier. This is exactly what this town was missing, and that it happens to be well stocked, very organized, with a whole section with $1 & $3 records and a friendly staff who are not pretentious know-it-alls - Im hooked! Like I said before, I had stumbled here by chance as I took an alternate walk one day, and now I am a regular. Stop by a couple of times a month and pick up new releases and I always check out the deals section where I always find a handful of must haves to add to my collection. Just recently I picked up some NM records from the Blasters, English Beat & Dorothy Moore!

Great selection - both new & used! Prices range from $1-$10 for used records. The $1 records are...well $1 records, but the good stuff begins at only $3 ( love that Blue Dot!) But the most youll spend is typically $10 for a minty condition of Elvis Costello - Jimmy Cliff - Ramones albums. The shop is small but cozy and very well organized. Hard to keep myself from buying everything - I can spend hours here the place is totally chill and they have listening stations so you can sample before you buy. Their new selection is very eclectic and well curated. They staff is friendly and very knowledgable and the place seems filled with good-vibes every time I walk in.

If interested in upgrading or buying a turntable Hi Fi is worth visiting. Recently did so and Javi (owner) helped me choose a new table. The process was easy going without any pressure to buy the most expensive choice. Instead got what I felt comfortable with and am happy. Will go back for my turntable needs again.

My absolute favorite record store. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. Looking for something specific? Theyll either help you find it, order it for you, or hold on to it for you to come pick it up. They also host live music from time to time.

Cool vinyl store in astoria. You can find some gems in that store. The dude that works there is chill and knowledgeable. Too bad they cant serve some espresso yet. If you are into records and live in queens go out there.

Nice location, decent new and old collection, BUT the prices are totally gouged on the new vinyl. You can get a lot of the newer vinyl online for half the price. It was my first visit yesterday and definitely my last.

$9 or more mark up on the current price of new vinyl. Decent used section, prices are much closer to the norm than their new records are.
