Ive been there 3 times in the last month for breakfast & lunch, and my overall impression is outstanding. I grew up in the restaurant business, my dad owning several in NYC and have worked as a restaurant consultant, a producer of TV Food Shows and last but not least a teacher of cooking and food history in NYC as well as right here at the adult Ed classes in West Milford and other parts of NJ. The place is new, there are some things that need to be fine tuned but the food is well conceived and well presented. Service can be a bit slow, however it is honest and definitely NOT pretentious. This place is an asset to the community and a chance for a family and others to earn a living and satisfy a need providing decent fresh food as an alternative to most of the sludge served at some other local eateries

The name, Vreeland STORE, is probably a misnomer. This is an historic building, known to many locals, that has been preserved and enhanced by the current owners. Its a bakery, sandwich shop, a restaurant with a bar and an inn with several suites to accommodation out-of-townees located in a rustic setting. Food is very good and everything is homemade (or made on the premises) by two young entrepreneurs whose father renovated the store to its former glory. They sell breakfast foods....scones, muffins, pancakes, eggs dishes, etc. Lunch food includes tasty sandwiches and soups. Several evenings each week they offer Tapas with a variety of assorted dishes....again...all homemade. Gluten-free food is also available. The on-site baker also makes macaroons in a variety of flavors. Prices are affordable.

A country gem. The family that runs it just does a fantastic job. You can see and feel the history of this 1800s store as you walk through. The wide plank original floors. The beautiful pine bakery counters. The original glass cases. Now lets talk about whats inside those cases. Most scones are dry. Not these! Cheddar and scallion! White chocolate and rasberry! WOW! The lunches and dinners are also fantastic. Very creative and ever changing. Between the charming country character , the NYC quality bakery and the creative lunch and dinners...this place gets 5 stars! One last note...the coffee here is fantastic!

high price but the quality is as well. a majority of the staff is very friendly. the whole setup has a delightful rustic vibe. they do cute little events fairly regularly. have not attended the full moon parties but they look a treat. the annual fall festival is always worth checking out. one of the very few quality venues to get a meal in west milford.

The ambiance was historic, its an old building furnished with wood goods and antiques. Love the look. The service was great as well, waitresses were kind and quick to respond with what was requested. The food was also great, but my egg omelette was packed with onions, making the experience of eating my eggs less enjoyable than usual.

Nice place to go for lunch - they are also open for dinner and breakfast but I havent experienced that yet. The sandwiches are delicious! Everything is made to order so there might be a little bit of a wait but it is worth it! They also make homemade desserts. It is inside a former farmhouse which has a quaint atmosphere

This was probably the worst dining experience ever, no wait, we never got to eat because the food took an hour to come out. I cancelled our order and paid for the worst "bloody Mary " Ive ever had. I dont recommend this place based upon the service. The wait staff never even came to see how things were. Horrible service!

Nice atmosphere and a great place for breakfast. Dinner dishes can be hit or miss, but mostly hit. Service can be spotty. Sometimes attentive, slow on others and it doesnt seem to be to tied to the crowd. But when all is working the place can be really good.

Just left, without eating; after waiting an hour for breakfast. 3 servers, tables not cleared, coffee cups not refilled, incorrect orders. Big problems in the kitchen. Too bad. We wont be back.

Great food, friendly staff, they also carry a nice selection of beers. Also a nice little bakery and you can grab desert to go. They even got some gluten free options here.
