First and foremost, I have over 15 years in the restaurant business. The place has an awesome concept, but no execution. I came here twice and both experiences were mediocre. My first impression of the outside upon entering was that it was pretty cool. It has a nice outside area. But its also in a strip mall. After entering, the hostess was on her cell phone. In fact she was on her cell phone the whole entire time of both visits. Very unprofessional. The inside decor was nice and looks great compared to other restaurants in the area. However, the tables each visit had something dirty on them. Either the table was sticky, the glasses were dirty, or the silverware was. That is unacceptable. The eggplant app had uncooked eggplant and the flavors that went with it were too powerful together. The popcorn on the table was burnt. The drinks were good and the burgers were good. The smore dessert is delivered in a bowl that is unpractical to scoop ice cream and dessert out without it tipping over. We had to hold onto the bowl while eating. Again, great concept but no execution. The reason I wanted to visit this place was because the menu is not like a menu in any other restaurant around the area. Its different and looked appealing. However, there needs to be some oversight. There was no indication who the manager or owner was. Clearly, that person is not doing their job. It wouldnt take much for them to get on a better track. Anyone I spoke to about this restaurant had negative things to say. I woukd hate to see such a great concept of a mom and pop restaurant get negative reviews because of little things that can easily be fixed.

Great food! Great beer selection and service! Genevieve is the best bartender in Vineland hands down! Here every week and beverage a bad meal or drink! You are missing out if you pass The Red Knot up!
