Quality of the food is sorely over rated and the price for it is another insult for those who are accustomed to quality at a reasonable price. Enough salt and grease in soup and bland, unseasoned entrees will pass mediocre muster with most who are already hungry but is hardly on par with expectations or the high prices. After an order of $70.00 for my table I didnt expect to get nickled and dimed for any condiments, etc that didnt come with the meal. Also, dont be surprised if what you get doesnt remind you of what you ordered. Perhaps this is the Chefs arbitrary whim over certain recipes; you be the judge of that, for me it was yet another disappointment. In summary regarding the food, I have had food twice as good for half the price at several other eateries in the area. With regard for the decor, it is typical of the average diner. However, the atmosphere is not consistent with or conducive to a relaxed, quiet setting in which to dine and/or converse while dining. This place is huge inside and they make use of every square inch. The booths and tables are too close, the lighting was uncomfortably bright, the noise level was too high for quiet conversation and the hurried rush of many servers in the aisles all made the impression of a busy business, NOT A PLACE TO RELAX! As for the service, my server was impatient, rude, argumentative and I had to accomodate her when she hurried me into my entree while I was still on my appetizer. I will never again patronize this business nor will I recommend anyone I know do so. There are many other eateries in the area where you will be respected as a customer, be made to feel comfortable, enjoy better food and pay alot less.

I finally had a planned chance to stop in at the Red Lion Diner this week after having been asked by several if in my travels I had ever eaten there. I too had asked others if they had but with only one affirmation of the question who had basically said "its your typical diner". Upon arrival I had noticed the parking lot to be quite full and was concerned there may be a wait for a table but upon walking in I saw a lot of empty tables and found out after I had been seated that there was a room in the back where it looked like some sort of meeting was going on. The hostess was very quick to seat me and when my waitress came she was pleasant and understanding of my need to peruse the menu since I had never been there before. I did request a cup of coffee and glass of water which came out in a normal amount of time as I have experienced elsewhere and was then able to order my breakfast though I was hoping for a little better options on the menu. The coffee was weak in flavor whether the brand or being watered down but even at that I would have liked to have it refilled before I had almost finished my meal. As for the food, it was was okay but I think next time I will try another place someone had highly recommended that is only a few miles away. Unfortunately I am finding out that the one personal review I had received was pretty accurate so maybe I need to check out the dinner and lunch menus and get away from breakfasts.

Seating was prompt from the hostess after entering. Server brings 4oz glasses of water at initial table visit. Ordered coffee. It was mediocre. Ordered the Belgian Waffle with 2 over medium eggs. Taste was decent but for $9 it was little food for the cost. My wifes 3rd coffee refill was met with curdled creamer from the disposable single-servings provided. A nearby staffer quickly replaced the bad java and informed us this was a known issue. Hunger unsatisfied, I decide to try the hot corned beef sandwich which was about $9 with no side. Subbed saur kraut for the coleslaw and had it as a wrap because they did not have marbled rye. It was good but soggy. My 4oz water mightve been refilled once during my 2 courses. We declined dessert and were given the check and told to pay at the hostess stand up front. Although the check was itemized on paper, the hostess could not split the check by seat. She unpleasantly informed my wife and I that it could only be split in half. This diner doesnt support the troops.

Good luck getting a cup of coffee. Arrived early on a Sunday morning and asked for a table for four. I was asked if my entire party was here and I said no. I was told that I needed to wait until everyone was here. I asked seriously? The manager said seriously. I could understand this if the place was packed but the diner was mostly empty and there were tons of open tables and most of the staff were just standing around. All I wanted was to sit and get a cup of coffee while waiting. No dice. I wont be going here again.

My wife & I have been coming to Red Lion Diner for 45 years and have never been as disappointed and insulted as tonite. We felt our deluxe corn beef was less portion than in past and mentioned to our waitress. The heavyset owner came to our table and spoke down to us, saying all the portions are weighed, with absolutely zero customer service skills, let alone interest in our dining experience. We will never again enter this establishment.

Omelets are over cooked, London Broil is overcooked on the outside. Service is mostly judgmental. If you order 1 drink early in the day you feel like your being judged. Go somewhere else. Seriously. Its a Diner but its not even 3 stars. Not even close. I gave this place many chances. NEVER going back ever again. How do you over cook eggs? Disgraceful.

The salad portions are always huge, larger than you would expect, but the greens & other veggies are fresh & delicious. Its nice that they have actual spring mix/ baby greens instead of just iceberg lettuce for every salad. The regular diner fare, burgers and fries, hot sandwiches, eggs, etc. are decent, too.

Tried to have dinner here this evening but the smell of rotting food was overpowering. We stayed long enough for the waitress to bring us a dirty set of glasses with water and also a dirty cup of soda with food visibly caked onto the side. Wtf...
