First off, this restaurant has the coolest atmosphere Ive seen. Immediately upon entering, you have the host booth directly ahead and brick staircases up on either side, with a booth or table at each level of the staircases. At the top is the bar and more seating. We got a primo bench on the left staircase and it was beautiful. Onto the food - for appetizers we got the crispy calamari which was served with wasabi aioli, thai sweet chili sauce, as well as marinara sauce. Ive never had calamari with wasabi aioli and thought it was a very interesting take on the dish. We also got the Brie Almandine, which was brie cheese served with amaretto butter sauce, toasted almonds, and flatbread crackers. This was absolutely amazing. Nice and sweet with a great texture. After that, we tried the truffle infused burrata which was served with 600 day parma ham, grape tomatoes, gold peppadew peppers, and toasted ciabbatta with chive oil. This was... interesting and not what I expected. Ive never had burrata before, and to me it was very smoky and bitter and I didnt really enjoy it (but this could just be the natural taste that I didnt know). For the main course, my parents got the Stuffed Chicken and the chicken breast and werent too impressed. I got the Duck Breast a la Cerices and I thought it was fantastic. The sour cherrie sauce added so much flavor, and the duck was done perfectly medium rare. My girlfriend got the NY Angus Steak and was raving about it. Our side dishes were all lukewarm for some reason, but they were replaced right away with hot sides, no questions asked. The service was great, and as it was both my girlfriend and my birthday that weekend, they sprinkled birthday confetti around the table and put a nice birthday centerpiece which was very thoughtful. Ill definitely return - I was torn between three and four stars and the atmosphere and service knocked it up to four for me.

We had very high expectations of this place because of the reviews and pictures of the atmosphere and we sooo wanted to love it. Staff and service were good although our waiter had very limited menu knowledge. The food was just OK to good at best. If youre going to offer a 20oz Porterhouse Special for $45 you better nail it...well, it was a very poor cut of meat with a lot of sinew throughout and had absolutely no sear or char on the outside and came swimming in a red wine reduction which only belongs on the filet mignon. NOTE to the chef: It needs to be cooked over a much higher heat or flame or in a high temp broiler quickly for a good char then rested while covered to finish cooking the inside. The Scallops were good and cooked well, but sloppily served over a big pile of what can only be described as a "semi" Risotto. This restaurant has great atmosphere with tons of potential. If they invested in a 5 star chef, Scarborough Fair could easily be one of the best restaurants along the Jersey Shore. So to sum up.. If youre expecting food along the lines of Daniels Bistro or Nicholas (which the reviews would have you believe) you will be disappointed.

Fantastic date night!! Food was excellent! Quiet atmosphere and fantastic staff. Wanted to mention, I wrote a special request on our reservation on open table for a particular item that was not on the dinner menu as a surprise for my boyfriend, I received a call from Tina at the restaurant, very shortly after, to inform me that she had spoke with the chef and that my request was no problem at all. When we arrived she quietly informed our waitress and my boyfriend was surprised and very very happy with one of his favorite appetizers! Thank you for going above and beyond! We will recommend to our friends and family and we will definitely be back!!

Came here for our 1 year anniversary and it was beautiful from start to finish. Not only was it quiet and really romantic but the staff was amazing, the owner is twice as amazing and had taken time to speak to guests about their stay. Hes a soft sweet soul of a man and I cant wait to come back here, I recommend to anyone who asks to this place. Ive seen people give this place 1 star and complain about the food but I promise you everything we had was delicious!!!! Happy to have found this gem of a place and hope it stays out for many more special occasions

The people are wonderful, the atmosphere very quaint, but the food was AWFUL. My lobster special dinner tasted like I was eating a rubber chicken. I couldnt cut through it with a knife. No one enjoyed their meal. I had tried it for lunch one afternoon and it seemed good. But what a disaster Saturday night dinner was. Unless you hear they have a new chef. Dont waste your money!

Unique, cozy setting and good service. Very interesting old building with lots of semi-private "cubby hole" dining areas. Appetizers were great, entrees were well prepared but overpriced and uninspired (think, plain steamed vegetables and very salty risotto as sides). Kinda at the level of wedding food - ok but boring. Not a great value, but thats not why people eat here.

Ive lived next to this place for eight years now. They constantly do their most noisy work in the wee hours of the morning and cant seem to figure out how to close their dumpster. As a result my dog has gotten sick from the overflowing trash thats in our yard multiple times. Theyre rude, inconsiderate, and in praying for the day they close so I can actually get some sleep.

Great food in an interesting & cozy atmosphere. It was heavily decorated for Valentines Day. We had the crab cake & seasonal salad as appetizers. Both were excellent. For dinner I had the spinach salad and topped it with grilled shrimp. My husband had the Tuna Steak (very rare). We were very pleased.

This place is so creepy. I dont understand how they are still in business. Scallop appetizer for $16 and you only get two small scallops? Is that a joke? The place is disguising the plates, silverware, and bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Try it for yourself. Dont say I didnt warn you.
