I have to say the restaurant is a beautiful place inside. The decor is wonderful, the atmosphere is nice and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I ordered off the Prix Fixe menu for restaurant week and chose these three items: 1) Pasta Sugo Allamatriciana 2) Smothered Organic Boneless Breast of Chicken 3) Perrys "One Buffalo" ice Cream (choc and vanilla) plus 3 rounds of drinks from the bar - 2x Rusty Winters and one Grappa The pasta was good. The sauce was a bit bland and lacked some flavor. I did like the use or large cuts of onion. I didnt taste any pecorino romano cheese at all (if it was in there) and there was maybe 1 or two small pieces of Guanciale. If I every go back, I probably wouldnt order it again The chicken was also bland. It was cooked well and was juice, but I wouldnt call it smothered. It was covered with one big slice of soppressata and one slice of Provolone, but it added very little to the dish. The patatos that accompanied my dish was delicious but not cooked evenly. Some of the pieces were hard as in almost undercooked while others were mushy and over cooked. I am not a fan of brussels sprouts anyway, so take this part with that in mind. I found the sprouts to be very soggy and bitter. The Ice cream was good. Nothing to report really here. My biggest issue with this place was the bar service. We sat down and ordered drinks almost immediately. Our first course had arrived long before our drinks did. I was almost through my first course when the drinks finally arrived. The waitress was very apologetic and did her best to make up for it. Since one of our group ordered the slow braised crispy pork, we had a slight wait for the second course (menu tells us its 25 minute cook time) In this wait time, and based on our waitress promise that the next round of drinks would not take as long, we ordered a second round. Needless to say that the second course pretty much came and went without getting our second round. We requested to speak to the manager, but our waitress had informed us that the manager was behind the bar helping out and if we wanted to speak to him, we should go over to see it (yes it was our job to get him). Its a shame really, because I could have seen going back here, but after the way they treated our request, I was a bit insulted. To their credit they credited us "1 round" of drinks, but in actuality they just gave us a percentage discount off our drinks, which funny enough, didnt actually cover a round of drink, but about five dollars less. Hopefully when you go they have fired the bartender and the manager of the place and hired competent people. I have a feeling given how empty the place was on a Saturday night, that this issue of service has been going on for a while. **edit - There were three people in our party that evening. We had dinner from 5-7pm. One of our party members send a review on their facebook page and clearly (picture below) they cant take criticism. I have changed my rating based on this from 3 to 1 star!

Food was mediocre. Greeting at the door was friendly and polite, giving us good expectations. Unfortunately, the server was friendly but knew little about the menu. When the first thing he said was that one of the days specials was already not available (we were eating dinner early), it was a warning. Two of our party ordered Fish & Chps. The fish was covered in a soggy, tasteless breadcrumb mixture and the chips were anything but chipper. They were soft and looked like they had been fried and then reheated. Didnt taste very well either. The best thing for either of them were the vegetable side dishes they ordered. Brocoli and green beans, respectively. They were bright and properly prepared, steamed fresh. My chicken, covered with crushed corn flakes, was crispy but tasteless. The menu said it would be served on a bed of spinach but was served on a mixture primarily of fried peppers and onions with about three leave of spinach. The decor and ambiance was proper, relaxed, refined, a bit quirky. A nice bar near the entrance, outdoor seating nicely blocked from the view of the parking lot, private room available and even an actual library with real books - some even recent. Too bad the food didnt live up to the rest.

Went to this restaurant today and there was a man behind the counter. He looked at the lady with me and looked at me once and didnt want to acknowledge that I existed. He refused to even speak to both us so I asked if he had a take out menu and he replied " You mean order food and then leave?" I said "Yes a take out menu. He then stated they do not have take out menus and looked at me as if I was crazy. I told him that my lady friend simply wanted a cup of coffee and he said the only way he would serve us is we dined in. Then a waitress made a rude statement about how they dont even have takeout cups in the restaurant. I have to say the service or lack of service was disgusting and the man and lady was very rude and also I have never been to a restaurant that stated they dont have takeout cups and refuse to give you service unless you dine in. Horrible place and I will never go back. I own a business and I would have never treated customers that way.

Very disappointing and poor service. Waited nearly 20 min b4 the waiter said he would bring some bread (it never was served). Took equal amount of time for pretzels to appear after ordering (it was not busy; we were seated at 6:25 on a Sat night; we were the 1st table to be occupied inside). During dinner, the bottle of tap water was empty for nearly 10 min; we had to ask for a refill (I dont expect pampering, but not such a lack of attention). Food? Mediocre. My burger was blasé; no flavor. A side of fries were soggy; we sent them back, adding that they were not crisp. They reappeared after our entrees were done, still soggy. Mussels were not anything to rave about either. Salmon was just OK. Didnt even bother with dessert; happy to leave. I cant believe this was an off-night. I suspect high regard in the reviews and reputation must have been earned years ago. I should have cooked at home instead, with better value and quality.

Saturday night and the place was mostly empty. I think the locals have figured out this place is average. First 8:00 pm on Saturday and they ran out of bread! How do you run out something everyone wants, enjoys and is the cheapest thing besides water. Then the oysters on the half shell had sand in 3 out of 6 of them. We eat oysters weekly in different restaurants and never have they been this dirty. We ordered muscles before being informed there was no bread, because that might have made them better than average being able to dip the bread in the garlic, broth and butter. The ribs were the one thing done right, and the Creme brulee was good, but too much sugar burned on top. We come to Fishkill often with a son in West Point, like the town, but wont be back here.
