This place was horrible; food, people, everything. First of all, the staff was rude and acting as though they were doing us a favor by allowing us to eat at their strip mall dive. Constant rude stares while we dined was not appreciated. The wait staff obviously had better places to be b/c they never checked on how we were doing. The food was subpar; it lacked taste, was bland and sloppily done. The appetizer wasnt properly cooked and the main course had too much sauce. It lacked flavor and it felt like I was eating cardboard and paste. It was not an enjoyable dining experience. I was there on business and this place gives off a bad impression of the people of New Jersey. If ever I go back there on business, Ill probably have better luck at the Applebees accross the street than this horrendous place.

My family and I have been coming to this place for years. It feels nice to be greeted consistently from the same staff. The staff is like family. The food is outrageous. I get the grilled calamari appetizer every time. Its simply the best. Even my young kids devour every last bite. The muscles are also fantastic. My 11 year old recommends the escargot. I usually get the gnocchi special with sirloin tips and onions also amazing. The gnocchi are homemade and melt in your mouth. Finish with the delicious cappuccino. Does not look like much from the highway but dont be fooled this place is worth the stop.

I hated everything about this restaurant. I got my appetizer and it was very hard and distasteful (fresh mozzarella should not be hard). I felt like going into the kitchen and telling the chef that mozzarella must be placed in water at room temperature for 30 minutes before being served. Then the main courses came and one of the orders was wrong, and my plate was just a giant mess on top of which it was mediocre in taste. I know what good Italian food is I have explored restaurants in Italy and my grandfather owned part of a five star restaurant in Little Italy, NY. This place is awful

Excellent pasta and coffee! Luigi the master pasta chef makes all the pasta fresh and if you look into the open kitchen you may see pasta being made! The ravioli are also made fresh with alternating stuffings. Amazing the difference fresh pasta makes. The owner Nino still makes some of the specials (I love the pork chop special so order it if its offered) and his mashed potatoes are really special. They serve freshly ground Kona Coffee which is something else. Lots of restaurants seem to skimp on coffee these days. Espresso and cappuccino are excellent too!

I am usually a big fan of eccolas I recommended this restaurant to my sister and her husband for their anniversary. They had a servant by the name of Deloris who was extremely rude and inpolite. She totally ruined their anniversary dinner. In addition, the food was not good that evening. As I stated I WAS a big fan and so are some of my friends, I will be sure that they hear about this experience and I will never go back there again. Thanks A lot Deloris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Old Friends met for a Wonderful Lunch @ Eccola Italian Bistro. There were 10 of us, we ordered different dishes, but, All agreed, the Food was Delicious!! Theres a pre-fix lunch, thats really great! House salad, Caesar salad or Soup, Entree from 3 different columns (w/ different prices points), finish w/ coffee or tea! Warm, friendly, professional staff, too. When old friends gather to break bread together, Eccola is the place to be! Will definately return soon!

Weve been coming here for special occasions for over 15 years, and were always pleased with the hospitality, the quality and the range of offerings. The food is always fresh, and from the bread to the decor, the restaurant consistently hits a very high mark. Most impressive, is that the same staff have been here as long as weve been coming, and they always provide welcoming and attentive service that makes dining here a real pleasure.

I have not eaten here in awhile and I was very pleased to discover that the food and service is fabulous. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the country.I travel for business and I eat in a lot of Italian restaurants and this one is the best. The veal and the pasta was much better than the same dishes that I had in Northern Italy. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food.

Please dont judge the restaurant by the building. We stopped in here last night for the first time, and absolutely loved it. The staff was attentive , knowledgeable. Great food, try the ravioli with eggplant covered with grilled chicken. They have a very nice variety of desserts, plus they also do serve liquor. Reservations are recommended. We will definitely be bringing family back to here.

Had a team outing for 10, turned out to be pathetic experience. This place looks too shady already from outside and had a good experience last visit few weeks back. Today was very bad. Waiter was saali is too rude to all our guests. I looked pissed off at the first order. Food was good .. But I am more for a good experience. I am gonna skip this place, I suggest you too unless its a pick up.

Excellent restaurant! My wife, son and I love this restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly. My son is now 4 but I have been taking him to Eccola since he was two, and the staff, especially Johnny and Mario always make my son Johnny smile with there kindness. Everything here is so fresh, and very tasty. They also have the best grilled calamari I have ever tasted. Highly recommended!

My folks found this place when I was in middle school and it became our official special occasion restaurant. Two decades later and now Im bringing people here for special occasions. It is consistently wonderful. I have my favorites, but I try to order a different appetizer or main dish off their Specials list each time. Always well made. P.S. Get Dessert.

Amazing time after time! This time was the best so far because the staff was beyond accommodating. I have many food allergies and the chef personally came out to make sure everything was okay. He remade one of my sides exactly as specified. All 5 of us enjoyed our salads, drinks, meals, and dessert. The atmosphere is so nice. We will definitely be back.

This place is a hidden gem. Looking from the outside you think it would be chain restaurant with mediocre food, but after you go there you find that the food is excellent with a great dining experience. Everything is good from the pasta, pesce, meat dishes and even the desserts. Highly recommend the place. Dont judge a book from its cover.

Probably some of the best Italian food around. On suggestion from the waitstaff, I had the grilled pork chops. Fantastic taste. The staff is very efficient and quick. I dont believe the concept of "thats not my table" or "Ill get your waiter" even exists here. Everyone pitched in to make my meal an absolute pleasure. Ill be back.

Was there on Saturday evening with friends. Looks nice, however, if you do not have reservations, make sure you tip the hostess well in order to get a table. After an hour and a half of waiting, we decided to go somewhere else. Later, we realized you must tip the hostess to get a seat promptly if you had not made a reservation prior.
