As soon as you enter, there is definitely a strange aroma. Attempting to stay basic, we ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. About ten minutes later the waiter returned to inform us that they have NO MEATBALLS! Maybe its just me, but I think that is almost inexcusable for an italian restaurant at 6:30pm on a Wednesday? Its not like we ordered the Osso Buco or a special. The wait staff we encountered were all very uncomfortable, as if they anticipated dealing with unhappy customers. We sent the baked clams back as they were all breading and no clams. They took them back without question at no charge. My rigatoni with bolognese was passable and the salad okay, but the overall experience was less than gratifying. This was not my first visit either, but I think it may have been the last. I guess its hit or miss, since some reviewers gave many stars.

My son and I arrived here late, after a long day of driving and hiking, and this was just what the doctor ordered. The food was just perfect, the staff courteous and friendly to the highest degree imaginable ( the kind of service we are used to at Cracker Barrels ) . Fortunately, our visit was midweek, Tuesdays and Wednesdays being Pasta Specials nights...so from now on, I do my hiking on a Tuesday or Wednesday!. I have used many New Palz restaurants in my many years of hiking here, but none surpasses this one. It was the perfect way to end a long road trip. The one and only drawback is the size and location of the lavatories; only one person at a time, and right next to the bar.

The food was decent, but definitely overpriced (but someone has to pay for the owners new S class Mercedes with custom wheels parked out front). The server was very nice, but got my order wrong, and then basically disappeared until he dropped off the check. There was another guy there who was very eager to clear our table (the place wasnt even busy). We had the bread for about 5 minutes before he came and offered to take our bread plates and dip. We had forks in our hands and he offered to take our half-eaten plates. TLDR: We blew $100 on a couple of pasta dishes and an appetizer, and the service was sub-par. Nice ambiance, but the place is definitely not worth the money.

$16 for ONE stuffed apple, have you lost your mind?! Its an APPLE for crying out loud! It was good, but not $16 good! Maybe $8 or $9 would be more appropriate. The cavatappi pasta special was ok, but again not for $27, too much oil sitting at the bottom of my bowl to be able to thoroughly enjoy. Also crisp up that bacon for the carbonara, nobody likes mushy bacon. One reviewer had it right, someone has to pay for that Mercedes, but it shouldnt be at the expense of dissatisfied customers. The service could be improved; we actually never received oil for our bread and waited a lttle too long for our check. Id go again if prices were adjusted accordingly.

When we sat down it took about 30-40 min before we even received anyone to come over and ask if we want water. And had to ask 2x for bread. At one point they gave us old soaked garlic bread. White wine sauce was broth and calimari was from a can. More upsetting. A couple came and sat next to us and was waited on right away. Like hers your table and this is your waiter. I have told my co-workers and every client I came across in the 12 hours since we ate there. They actually treated the only minority couple of the night as if they didnt an educated six figure income family had the means to actually eat out.

Used to be wonderful, now its very average, overpriced Italian restaurant with a new owner. $60 lobster main course in New Paltz is not acceptable (waiter didnt mention this high price at ordering). Surprise - all came to more than $400 without tipping for 5 adults. 1 bottle of wine included, but this is not something you see much in this town.

Food was disgusting. The steak at roadhouse was more moist and had more flavor and not to mention the price was outrageous. Very dated and the owner at the bar was loud and obnoxious. Lived in New Paltz my whole life, went once and never have to worry about going back. Bad food, bad environment, over priced and dated.

My boyfriend and i went to La Stazione for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. They had live jazz on the patio and the food was excellent. The service was attentive and courteous . I would recommend La Stazione highly to anyone who enjoys culture with there cuisine.

The food was fantastic, the waiter was great, and we all really liked the establishment. It may be expensive for the area but we moved up here from Brooklyn and the quality of the food reminded us of there. Wed definitely go back.
