Sarku is to Japanese food, what visiting "New York" at a Las Vegas casino is like. Its "mall food", better thought of as "in the style of" Japanese food. With that said, it is made to order, freshly cooked. They are best known for their Chicken Teryaki, which isnt bad. The sushi is surprisingly good, and again freshly made. Its decent, inexpensive, freshly made, and a step above generic "fast food". Visiting "fake New York" at a Vegas casino might not be the real thing - but that doesnt mean it cant feel a fun diversion.

Horrible customer service. Especially the night folks. My wife and I arrived about 9pm and ordered at the counter intending to dine in. The lady stopped my wife from getting a tray because she was going to put the orders on take out platea so we can take them out when they close. WTF! They cant serve on proper plates at 9pm because they close at 9:30 and dont want extra dishwashing done??? Really really bad. Total opposite of the Sarku at near Mercer Mall where I usually eat lunch. They treat customers as kings over there.

I usually get the chicken teriyaki with "extra meat" but they give you maybe half at most than other Sarku locations. In the Bridgewater Commons Mall, they pile it high which is why theres always a long line. The North Brunswick location is almost always empty, and Im not surprised. Sarku NB, dont be cheap... Increase your portions or Im afraid you might go out of business. Other than the portion size, I gave you a couple extra stars because the food is still delicious.

If you love cheap, delicious Japanese food, this is definitely the place to go. The amount of sushi offered for such a low price is phenomenal. The meals include food like the salads and tempura shrimp, ranging in tastes and textures, but all delicious. The Japanese beverages available, such as the $1 green tea, really help improve the meals quality. The seating and customer service complete the deal and make it an experience to remember each time.

Went there tonight and they were out of ginger dressing. They only have two types of dressing and they run out of one... really???? I ordered the bento box which comes with 4 pieces of a sushi roll which actually was two pieces cut in half. Other locations I have been to were much better. Will definitely not go back to the North Brunswick location.

Their Teriyaki Chicken is THE-BEST!!! I usually intentionally order extra meat for a small additional price, knowing that I wont be able to finish it. So I can wrap-up the remaining chicken and save it for home later..... Yes. I know I am crazy. :) But it really is that good!

The food is really good, the only thing I had a problem with, was the girls in the front attitude, I understand we all have bad days but that sarcastic, extra what ever attitude is unneeded, 10/30/15 (7:20pm) bad costumer service.

I had a dragon roll, spicy tuna roll, tuna & salmon sashimi and a garden salad. All for take-out. Presentation was excellent and no plastic garnishes like other places use.

Great place for fresh, tasty, healthy and inexpensive teriyaki & sushi food. The store hours are wrong on this ad. They open seven days a week from 11AM - 10PM.
