Thomas Sweets is a great old fashioned ice cream store. By old fashioned, I mean that they do not care about the decor or fancy trends like a cold slab of stone. Instead, they focus on premium quality hand scooped ice cream. They also have soft-serve yogurt in delectable flavors like cookies and cream, strawberry, and coffee. You can turn any ice cream and topping of your choice into a smoothie-like concoction as well. Make sure to go all out and put your dessert in a made-on-the-spot waffle cone. The seating area is small but there are two quaint benches outside to complete your "old time" feel.

My girlfriend and I stopped in for ice cream the other day and I must say that the ice cream is superb. This establishment has a huge variety of different toppings and flavors and the store next door has a great assortment of chocolates and delicious treats. The chocolate store is a great spot to purchase gifts for a loved one and the ice cream shop makes a good stop for your ice cream fix.

For my first try here, I thought Id go with the standard small hot fudge sundae with vanilla ice cream, crushed almonds whipped cream and a cherry. At first glance I could see the fudge wasnt right...very thin stuff. The taste was not nearly sweet enough. The ice cream was good but nothing to shout about. Im left now with a continued desire for some real hot fudge!

This place has the best thick milk-shakes I have had in my lifetime. It is basically around 5 big scoops of ice-creams just blended to form something like a milkshake, hence the name. I am crazy about this place. I put on 4 pounds in just 3 months, thanks to the high in calories but DELICIOUS ice-creams here. Personal Favorite: Nutella Thick Milk-shake

I have been coming here for years for my sweet tooth fix, as it is a Rutgers tradition. Id say the cookies and cream flavor is their best. Get the banana boat to split with your friends, you can pick for 3 scoops, 2 wet toppings, and 1 dry topping. Also, their card minimum is $10, so bring cash. There is another location in Princeton as well.

The ice cream blend-ins are AWESOME & the separate chocolate store called "Next Door" is like heaven! It is beautifully decorated & once you walk through the door you are swept over with a delicious smell of fresh chocolate (and they often have samples -- yum!). They have really funny birthday cards there too. Just really great all around!

Great ice cream and selection. Definitely glad to see the blend happening but I cant say I approve of blending regular ice cream (it comes out SUPER soft). I also HIGHLY recommend that management create a list of suggested blend combinations -- for the average ice cream eater, the blend can go very wrong if you have never had blends before.

BEST ICE CREAM EVER. And just the cutest little shop! Parking is kind of a drag during peak times, but we ended up parking near the State Theater (where we saw Sesame Street Live) and walked there. Its a bit of a schlep, but you want that when youre going to be shoveling down delicious ice cream.

BEST CHOCOLATES AND FUDGE. They have great gifts and stocking stuffers. I bring a TON of candy down to my family when I visit and the absolutely love it. The New Brunswick store is even better than Princeton and DC. The staff and owners are great too!

Best ice cream, period. LOVE the blend-ins, the variety of flavors and toppings. Shame I moved out of the area but will try to get back anytime Im in the vicinity. Cash only is a bit of a bummer but a small price to pay for the best ice cream anywhere.

Very few fairy-tale selections. I had the raspberry coconut milk soft serve. It was good, but Id have still liked to see more selections. The only things dairy free were the mango and mixed berry sorbet and the raspberry coconut milk soft serve.
