I use to really enjoy going to the place. We went often and referred family & friends. The food was decent and fresh. Service was always so-so, but the food used to be worth it. But things have gone down hill in the last several months The last 3 times we were in the place,(on a weeknight) one of the waitresses had her 2 yr old son in the dining room of the restaurant and she allows him to roam and play, jump in the booths with patrons, eat from their chip bowl, and the whole time, she just smiles at him. Friends & family have reported the same experience This was the case the last time we were there and I couldnt wait to get out. Then came the clincher. Right before she brought our check, a COCKROACH climbed up the wall next to our table. That is enough for me - I am outta there

DO NOT EAT HERE. I made the mistake of going here for a late lunch on Saturday. I found a small, curly white hair in the runny salsa that was provided with the nachos. When I pointed it out to the server, she started arguing with me that it was cilantro. It was a hair! It was tough and wouldnt break apart when pulled. Also, there was a loud, obnoxious fat kid, who is the son of the couple that runs the place. He apparently has anger and other issues. The kid did not shut up for one minute while we were there. He kept talking to himself, yelling and throwing things. The food, itself, is bad. How bad is it? You can get MUCH better food at On the Border or even Chilis

Nope, wont ever go back. We go in for a work lunch, reservations and all. You order food and they dont write down which seat ordered what. Guys just start bringing food that your table MAY or MAY NOT have ordered. Its a free for all at that point. They say the dish aloud, and when no one answers, they start shouting and getting angry. I ordered a dish that was not called. Guy asks me what I ordered, so I tell him. They bring it out to me and then bark at me for not raising my hand earlier. First off, they didnt bring out the correct food. Second off, dont bark at me BRAH. Third off, food wasnt even that great. Customer service goes a long way.

The Food was EXCELLENT! However, our sever who was a female, had the grace and finesse of a moose. She was horrible in the way she spoke to us, it took her about 30 mins to visit our table for the first time after we all arrived. She came to our table at the end of the night to tell us we had to leave right away because they were closed, even though there were other people still in the restaurant eating. We overheard other people complaining about her. She was abrupt and rude in her mannerisms and speech. She should be kept in the back of house until she learns how to interact with the people she depends on for tips.

Ive missed work and school for the past few days and Im still not better - thanks a lot, El Azteca. I hadnt done anything else out of the ordinary in days, and I was sick within hours of eating here. The service was awful, everything took forever, the food was not good. The room was ugly. Im telling you, just dont eat here...I want to throw up just thinking about it.

I just went yesterday for the first time. I had my mother & my 3 children with me. We were out celebrating my mothers 62nd birthday. The food was amazing! The staff was really friendly. Our waiter even brought my mother their fried ice cream dessert with a candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to her in English & in Spanish. I will definitely be going there again!

The service was good and friendly. The food was just okay borderline not good rice was salty, beans were good tacos were not good neither was the enchilada. I wouldnt say is the worse restaurant just not the best, if you have never had Mexican it would be Edible however if you love Mexican food this isnt the place.

I grew up in San Antonio in the 90s, and fell in love with the Tex-Mex out there. Cheap prices, good ingredients, and laid back atmospheres. El Azteca is the closest Ive come to that in the Northeast. Fantastic food at great prices, and really fast and attentive service. I just wish they made their own tortillas.

Decent place.not the best but not the worst as well.. Definitely better than chain restaurant. Some items are good and some turned out ok ok ..nothing bad as such.. fajitas and chalupa was good. BAD thing is they add mandatory 15% top for dinner. So no incentive for servers to go a bit extra..

The food was very good, great selections, I did find a hair right on top of my meal. I was able to take it off and still enjoy the food. if you go on a day that the kids are out of school it will be load. The owners 10 11 9 yr old kids will be running around the restaurant blasting music

The best authentic Mexican food around! This one and the one in Center City are delicious and the people there are so nice. Excellent portions of awesome food. Whenever Im in town I make sure to go for a meal. Get the cheese sauce! The queso is good but youll want the cheese sauce!

Food is great, service sometimes sucks. Love the cheese enchiladas, quesadillas and burritos. Tacos are soggy. Guac is fantastic!! Atmosphere is rustic Mexican, could use some music!!!! One server with the mohawk is the only one who gives good service and gets it! Lol

every time I eat here I love it. Good fresh food. Only minus is that they serve Pepsi products and not Coke....guess thatll get me to drink water lol. Love this place. Rice is always cooked well. Ive never had a bad experience here.

Its authentic mexican food but they dont have a lot of options. Not Jamaican Water, not Tamarindo, also they dont make tacos with cilantro and onions. We dont see any latin customers in there, just american people .

Their desserts are amazing! They have two not on the menu that you should ask about. They have stuffed ice cream balls with fruit in the middle and half the ball is dipped in white chocolate... so delicious!!!!

Ive been eating there for years now and continue to be completely satisfied. The food is consistently good and a value for what you get. The ambiance isnt the best but the value and quality make up for it.
