This Lower Montclair CoffeeShop has a very homely ambience, while still staying true to the "Trend"ing theme, I visited on a Friday evening during live entertainment, the waitress warned about $5/person minimum, which disrupted the vibe a little bit, Otherwise, the vibe was very good, a broad spectrum of guests, young, old and in-between, and modern paintings covering the walls, the presentation of Desserts in the case was beautiful as was the overall design of the store, the owner was also very hospitable, The live entertainment was very good in terms of talent, but the placement of the performer and the volume were both a tad off the rest of the vibe, (While not a factor in the review it is apparent The location was redesigned and was not always this type of establishment) Less positive, were prices per portion, now Im always for higher prices if it is more upscale area, and quality establishment especially a small business, and I do feel strongly the lovely setting warrants higher prices, but the quality of the food is questionable as per the price, and the portion unacceptable, The food is good, yes, but not ~$5/ baked good, good, and the portions are outrageously small, Tea for $2.50 and only 8oz of water with a single bag! This is Tea, not an anti-coagulation prescription!!!!! And their "refill" reuses the original bag! Still a pretty good experieince and I venture to say would truely be a Five star, but price vs. quality & quality as well as stage placement need correction!!!!

My friend and I had a morning to relax, and stopped in after seeing the coffee shop as we were walking. We werent sure they were open as noone was in the place. When we went in, we were told to sit wherever we would like. We chose a place near the window where we could eat and people watch and enjoy the atmosphere. It actually made me nostalgic for a place I used to frequent in college. We were planning a leisurely morning maybe evendors stay til lunch. I should have known it wasnt to be when my friend was told he couldnt order a large coffee, he could only order in a mug. We ordered a mediocre breakfast, and had barely finished when the waitress told us to move because they had reserved the space. First, if that was true and the space was reserved ahead of time they should have told us when we went to sit down. I believe that they reserved it after we arrived, because the two older ladies who came in appeared to be regulars and kept giving us dirty looks because we hadnt moved yet. Mind you the entire back was open with no customers. The waitress came over again and said, we really needed to move. We had been waiting on a water my friend had ordered and our bill. So I snapped back we would move when we got our check. She said we were supposed to pay at the counter. Mind you we were first time customers who were shuffled out for regulars. I regret leaving a tip. We wont be back.

I am shocked that for a Montclair establishment got high marks for anything but décor and free wi-fi. For a coffee shop to offer bagged tea that we can by in the supermarket and then charge high prices for it; insults the consumer. You can go down a few shops and go into any other place and get nicer teas; and they arent even a coffee shop!!!! Food, poor. Menu said wide selection of scones; they had no scones. Croissants - we were expecting something we would see in a pastry shop, it was pulled out of bag, pre-packaged. They charged a high price for that as well. Salad, the servers dont mix the salad for you, it comes in plastic container, you get the salad and then have to dump it in a bowl, toss it and pour the dressing on it. They expect a tip for this as well. Service, what service? If you take anything away from this review, take away the poor quality of product and high price charged. Go down the street anywhere else and get a better experience.

My friends and I were all very pleased with our experience at the Trend Coffee & Tea House. We wanted an authentic night out and thats exactly what we got to. It just so happened that there was live entertainment that night, which was an added bonus! The ambiance was AWESOME, the service was great and the staff was so friendly! I ordered a salad with a fruit and cheese platter, and my friends ordered panninies. Everything was delicious and the prices were very reasonable! Ever since, Ive been back several times. I often enjoy going in the day time to just unwind, drink some coffee and indulge in a pastry, The crepes are DELICIOUS, my favorite for sure! If you want an authentic night out or even just to go hang out and grab a coffee during the day time, Id highly recommend checking out this place! Two Thumbs Up!

A bunch of couples (about 15) came here together on a Friday night and loved it. The live band was fun to watch but it does get a little loud and not conducive to conversation. Nevertheless, they shut their performance down around 10:30pm and we stayed and enjoyed each others company until almost midnight. I had the oreo mousse pie, delicious and light. My husband had the apple pie (he didnt even notice it was vegan...and hes a picky eater). The vanilla chai was good (not necessarily great...but definitely not bad). I might opt for a cappuccino or latte next time. The vibe and decor is great...cozy couches and chairs in little sections makes for a warm and comfy environment. We will definitely come again.

They have numerous Gluten-Free items that are NOT gluten-free. The woman manger/owner doesnt care that the products the label gluten-free are not made in a gluten-free kitchen, placed in the same display as gluten and not wrapped to avoid airborne gluten contamination. After re-visiting the same woman told me she doesnt care because "they sell well". Avoid this place for gluten-free food and because of their ignorance. Hopefully one day they will understand and care that gluten-free is no gluten ingredients and no contamination and people get ill, as most have started to learn and adapt to offer a safe gluten-free product to customers.

Theres a reason Trend Coffee has been on Americas best coffee. Its a quirky place with a lot of random things hanging on the walls and nestled in places that you might have grown up with. Very hipster like atmosphere. Theres not as much place to sit about as youd expect of such a popular place, but everyone is friendly enough to share a couch or table with you if youve a mind to work there for a while. Ive indulged in tea here, since it is my go to drink, but have also enjoyed their Honey Bear Latte.

Love this place! The atmosphere is fantastic! Lighting is a good mix of bright enough to work but still has a glowing type of feel. Staff and friendly and have the right balance of checking up on you without being annoying. Theres a wide range of food (wraps, paninis, quiches, salads) on top of the drinks. Ive only had coffee drinks so far but havent been disappointed. WiFi is free and fast. Outlets are available for laptops.

I have stopped in several times to have a few cups and use the wireless. I agree with Joe, prices are higher than I expected, but the good atmosphere and friendly service mostly make up for that. Much, much more relaxing and personalized than a chain, its a pleasure to spend a little more money here and know its not going to Starbucks.
