Point 40 is one of my favorite diners in South Jersey if you base it only on food quality. However, being that Im fairly young (nearing 20), the servers apparently feel that I do not exist. I cant even think of the last time that a waitress bothered to glance my way at this restaurant. 99% of the people who eat here are over the age of 65. Ive been getting the same meal for years now, but tonight when the platter arrived, I noticed that the fries had suddenly turned into STEAK fries. In my personal opinion, if youre going to change your fries from really good crispy fries to nasty steak fries, you could at least tell the person ordering about the menu change. When my meal arrived, I automatically asked the waitress why they were steak fries. She informed me of the menu change, and I responded that I dont like steak fries. She, in turn, walked away. With my meal, you have the choice of fries or soup. In my opinion, she should have asked me if I would have preferred soup, seeing that I didnt even touch my fries. When my party went to the cash register to pay, the manager didnt even bother to ask us how our food was, and I didnt really appreciate that too much. I feel that Point 40 is very age biased. You WILL get better service if youre 60 than if youre 20.

The fact that my wife had grown up 2 miles from this diner had been one of the reasons it was one of her favorite places to go especially after church on Sunday. Although I was never that impressed with it until more recently I came with her and enjoyed seeing her enjoy herself and some time off from having to prepare the family a meal after a long day of doing whatever needed to be done. That newer liking of this diner was until I heard the news that another local diner that neither of us liked, maybe even borderline despised had taken over the ownership here. Since that takeover I have been here three times with my kids and was at least glad to see that the only difference I see so far is the new menus as well as a little higher prices on the new menus. My three star rating is based on previous ownership and will remain unless something happens to sway that rating for the better or worse. When I eat a dinner there I almost always will get the mini meal #15 but have started to expand my appetite to some of the more healthier options on the menu since I am not getting any younger and want to be around for my kids for several more years.

When you go in the diner, Larry is there to give you a warm welcome and seat you. He doesnt walk to the table and throw the menus on the table. Mike was our server tonight, and he is simply the best! Our food was great, and we will enjoy our leftovers tomorrow because they give you sooooo much to eat. I like to cook, but a night off is always welcomed, and Point 40 Diner is always where I like to go.

Have eaten there 5 times on the way to and from the shore over the last few years and every thing was great. Best meatloaf I have ever had. Deserts are to die for. Very nice staff, and very clean. I would give a 5 star but that is reserved for fine dining IMHO.

The food is jaw droppingly good. It is typical diner food, so if youre too bourgeois for diner food, you wont like it. But for the rest of us, its great! Nice quiet environment with super friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend.

Great breakfast. Great Monte cristo any time of the day. Recently tried their Maryland crab cake meal with baked macaroni and cheese, stewed tomates, and clam chowder. It was wonderful -AND- only $9.99!! Great service; Every time!

it was the worst all the 5 star are from when the diner use to be good ever since they sold it going down hill and wish they let it rest in peace and not ruining a good diner

Needed food. This was the first place we saw. The foods just your average, run of the mill in-the-middle-of-nowhere diner. They have food if you need anything to eat.

Brown wilted lettuce on the turkey club, under cooked fries and a waitress who was not interested in hearing our complaints. Will definitely not be returning here.
