The food was great, however the customer service and timing was an absolute atrocity. A friend and I went there for the first time, we were given stares by the customers and some of the staff (we simply brushed it off). We were sat in a timely manner, however it literally took the waitress 15 minutes just to come to our table to start us off with our drinks, and she didnt come on her own we had to request for her to come. Meanwhile, we saw a family of 4 that came in 5 minutes after us was served promptly and had gotten everything before us. My friend and I gave it the benefit of the doubt since many of the servers were young (not much younger than we were). Also it was a Sunday morning it was kind of busy. So we tried it a second time. This time we had gotten served our drinks. By the time we had gotten our drinks we were ready to eat. We told her that we were ready to order and she told us that she would come back to take our order. We waited 20 minutes and no one came to our table. Everyonewas served in a timely manner. We had gotten so frustrated that we simply just left. We personally feel because we were the only non-white customers we were treated differently than everyone else (whether the effort was concious or not). Id recommend better customer service, older and more mature servers, and promptness in response (we called to talk to the manager but "he wasnt in") we hadnt gotten a call back.

I absolutely love the food and would give the food 5 stars! I am a regular at Blueplate and the service is usually decent except for one experience. I regularly go to Blue Plate with friends but for my birthday my mother and sister visited me and I brought them here. Service was very bad even though everyone around us seemed to get their food and drink refills in a timely manner. We were given a lot of stares from the service and costumers. When we were part way through our meals we were asked if we were ready for the check. We declined and after we had finished our meals we were basically rushed out of the establishment. This is very odd as every other time I have been here my friends and I have been offered coffee and dessert. I belive this experience was because my family and I are non-white. Other reviews about this restaurant with similar experiences concern and sadden me because this is the best food I have had in south jersey. The many times I recieved decent service I was with my white friends and didnt notice any difference in treatment between them and myself, besides the occasional stares from other customers.

Was there on 2/6/12 for breakfast,I ordered eggs over medium with home fries and toast,my husband ordered the same but with sausage,we both got coffee,To start with the coffee was awful,I had to add at least 8 packets of sugar just to make it drinkable, when we got our order,My Husband commented that the sausage tasted funny, like it had Iodine in it,I told him the home fries tasted as though they had been cooked on a grille with too much lighter fluid on it,the toast was good, the eggs weren't done to our liking,we told the waitress and she took the sausage off the order,Roughly an hour later I started to have pains in my stomach, before long,I was in my bathroom, vomiting and having diarrhea, this went on for 2.5 days,I missed 2 days of work,my husband got a little sick but not like me,probably because he is 6' 4" tall and weighs 255lbs,I will never go to this restaurant again,

Over rated by far. We saw the name and the online menu and thought we were going to a new trendy type place. We arrived and were the only ones in the restaurant. We couldnt figure out where the name came from because it looked just like an old diner inside... nothing we expected considering the price for dinner. The first major disappointment was the fact that even though two other tables had come in, it took just shy of an HOUR to get our food. We had three (white) plates- the Gnoucchi, chicken and pork. The chicken and pork were over cooked (dry) and bland. It tasted like they overkilled smoke flavoring into the pork stuffing. The Gnoucchi sausage just had a strange flavor. Definitely overpriced and over rated. Tuscana is down the road a bit. I would recommend that instead for dinner.

This is only based upon one visit, but it was for a Fathers Day breakfast. You would think theyd bring their A game on a day like that, but I think that maybe the cooks were the backups. We got pancakes for my 2 year old daughter, and they were chewy, tasteless and quite frankly, inedible. The little girl at the table next to us who also ordered pancakes also could not stomach them. My food (a steak & egg variation on eggs benedict) was pretty decent but my coffee was pretty lousy. My wife got regular eggs benedict, and the eggs were severely over done. The service was pretty good, and the restaurant overall had a nice appeal, a family-owned establishment, but I must say that the breakfast there was pretty disappointing.

I got breakfast this morning. My omelette tasted bad, as if it had been sitting in old dishwater. I couldnt eat it. The potatoes were underdone and were clearly only cooked on one side, never turned or flipped and they had no seasoning. The scrapple was cut so thin that it dried out and was not good. My wifes bacon, bacon egg and chesse quesadilla was just ok... I wont go back...they need to put more care and attention into their food. Id also like to mention that they deleted a fair but negative review from their facebook page. Boo! You should try good food instead of deception..

I just love the small town feel of blueplate! Service is great and they always have interesting food options. They use locally sourced vegetables and fruit considering this is farm country. Great breakfast... pumpkin pancakes are yummy, along with more hearty fare. I enjoy their quiche at lunch and they have salads that are delicious too. Dont forget the homemade desserts!

The reviews on this location are spot on! They make amazing omelets and the french toast was superb....my BF had eggs and bacon with home fries and was very pleased with the portion size and way the food was cooked. He tends to like things like done well and he raved about how crispy and delicious his bacon was...highly recommend this place!

Nearly every dish on the menu offers a unique experience, combing contrasting tastes into enjoyable flavor medleys. Though the food often takes a while to prepare, it is well worth the wait. My sole complaint is that, while the main course is always enjoyable, the sides, such as the fries, are occasionally burnt.

Just had dinner at the Blue Plate. OMG the Salmon Mushroom Risotto, absolutely amazing!!! Salmon pan seared to perfection crusty outside and buttery melt in ya mouth inside. The creaminess of the Risotto along with the earthiness of the oyster mushrooms perfect combination. Kudos to the chef

Had breakfast. Long line and long wait. Food was just average and a bit overpriced. Blueberry pancakes NOT good. A bit dirty and run down. Dont understand the attraction and long line for average food when Harrison House right up the street with no line and no wait with same food.
