I rate this place one star because I have to in order to write a review. I got some shrimp dish and the shrimp was so over cooked that it was almost impossible to chew. Im from nashville and even we have better sushi! I got the 1/2 soft shell crab and I choked twice on the roll because I couldnt chew it! The crab was terrible! The service was terrible. Even my friends meal, he said was terrible. We barely ate any of it and we still have to pay for it! Terrible food! This place should not have 4.6 stars. Yuck

Sono is the real deal--- fresh fish, meticulously prepared, super friendly staff that understands the subtle difference between serving a couple out for a quiet dinner, or a gathering of people looking for friendly and upbeat service. They just get it. Smart, clean, friend, authentic Japanese

Great food! Everything I have there from appetizers to dessert is fresh and delicious. Tried the Kani salad for the first time and it was excellent. Also White swan roll is a unique and fantastic roll! I highly recommend this restaurant...it is the best sushi around!

The waitress was so confused about who ordered what. She gave the wrong food twice and we were a party of 10 people . I asked for water without ice and twice she forgot what i wanted . Very sloppy and disorganized. The food was sooo mediocre . I wouldnt go a second time.

PROBABLY THE BEST SUSHI IN THE AREA! PERHAPS, THE BEST SHUSHI IN NJ! FISH IS ALWAYS VERY FRESH BECAUSE OF LARGE TURNOVER WITH TAKEOUT. THE ONLY DOWNFALL IS SERVICE. SERVICE TENDS TO BRING MEALS OUT ON TOP OF ONE ANOTHER, PRACTICALLY ALL THE TIME.

Ive been going to Sono for years. My parents have been regulars and whenever Im in town Sono is a must. They have the best sushi I know of and it is consistently excellent. The owners and staff are really great.

Consistently excellent food. I have been coming to Sono for more then 15 years and have never been disappointed. The sushi is always fresh, the staff is great. It gets crowded on weekends, but thats par for the course.
