This place is horrible. I used to frequently visit here but after sandy this place took a turn for the worst. They used to have great food specials, now you order a $20 steak dinner and get potato chips with your steak and thats it. No other choices and you dont get a salad anymore. Seriously? There is no more "semi private" dining anymore either, everything is all open and if you just want to sit down and eat dinner peacefully without everybody looking at you than you should go elsewhere. My final straw for me was I go in there the other night to order some food and grab a beer, some half witt security comes outta no where and starts asking me for my ID? Mind you Im already seated and ready to order my food, my license was in my car and i was not about to run all the way in my car just to please this moron. Im almost 40 years old, Im half bald and grey, you seriously need to see my ID? I calmly got up and left and I will never come back here EVER!! This place lacks a lot to be desired. The other local places around here offer a far better dining experience.

Not trying to be rude but this place needs a serious upgrade. Bathroom is horrendously filthy, I mean seriously thats the first thing that needs to be taken care of. Ordered the Manhattan clam chowder (from a can), which seemed to have beef in it and tasted strangely like chili, when it came out is was cold but the waitress fixed it. Heres what I recommend to happen as a fellow restaurant owner, hope this helps. 1. The TVs look nice but it makes me wonder why so much money on entertainment and no money invested into making the place look nicer. 2. Upgrade the environment to make it look more like a modern bay side restaurant and not a Dive Bar 3. Find better food either by hiring a professional/new chef or talking to your local Sysco representative. 4. Train the staff better, waitress did the minimal amount of effort in serving us. 5. Again clean the place up in terms of hygiene, if the bathroom is that disgustingly dirty it gives me horrible Ideas about what the kitchen looks like.

It seems most of the time when I order a steak in Blue Rock they never get it right. I always order it rare and it comes out medium or well done. We went there last night hoping they would get it right, but they didnt... AND the worst part of the experience was when I sent the steak back and the waitress came back to our table and said they disagree and feel that the steak was done correctly, and then had the nerve to tell me they were NOT going to make another for me! Its disgusting thatthey would treat a customer this way and as a result I am never going back to this restaurant. Its a shame because I do like the place alot, but I cannot stand for being treated that way. So NEVER again.

I went to the Blur Rock Cafe around 9pm on a Friday night. I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and it was $8.00. That was a fair price and it was good to boot. Then around 10pm my friend showed up, ordered the same drink and the price went up to $8.50. Then again to $9.00 around 11pm. Around 12am I ordered a rum and coke and it was $10; more soda than anything. I dont know whats going on here but they need to figure out their prices because that is ridiculous.

I went there on Wednesday March 9 2016 with my family. 3 ribs dinners. Calamari and steam clams for starter. Food was excellent but the service was really bad. The waitress was doing too much, attending the bar and tables. Finally some girl came over ,who said to me Im sorry but can I help you. Told me she doesnt work there but took care of me and my family. Hope next time will be better. That is way I give it 2 stars. Take care Tommy Montalvo

This place has a great outside smoker friendly deck out back for summertime relaxing. They have inexpensive good pub food available, and good cold beer on tap. They often have good music, and in the summer, being close to the water gives you a seashore feeel without going all the way down there. Inside in winter, they have pool tables and a nice clean building. The nicest place in the area- You will have a good time there !

Delicious food and pleasant people great for smokers and non-smokers they also have an attached porch I guess you would say and you could eat dinner and actually relax and have a nice cigarette afterwards not too many places left like that actually eat dinner outside or inside whatever you choose great family atmosphere Friday and Saturday nights little bit more than a family atmosphere

Took a boat over from Staten Island. Slips available for docking while dining. Just missed the lunch special prices but no matter. Had the snow crab legs dinner and was not disappointed. The linguini and fresh clans looked amazing as well. Not much ambiance but light and airy and open. Waitress Fallon was the best. I would definitely go back again.

Every time we go there, we have a great time! The owner greets us and the music is fun. The dinner specials are amazing and the prices are awesome, compared to a high end restaurant. The place is large enough that you can hang by the bar and watch tv or play pool, yet, they have a dining room for you to eat in if you wanna just sit and relax.

The Blue Rock was nicer before the renovation of Hurricane Sandy damage because the bar and dining room were separated by a wall which kept a lot of the noise from the bar in the bar. That doesnt take away from the great food. Shrimp cocktail with shrimp like small lobster tails, excellent specials on food and drinks.

I go for the Maine steamers. They are really great. Drink prices are too high. Local crowd. Atmosphere is like a large old mans bar. 2 pool tables and late nigjt bands. The bands are usually great. I just posted a picture of a very poorly poured martini for $11 and on certain nights 12:50

Wose snow crab Ive had there. It was cold, too salty & most of the legs had barely any meat. When I said something to the waitress she said it was because they were busy. Sounds like an excuse to me. Their snow crab use to be to die for. Never going back again.

Great local spot. There are always drink specials and the owner creates dinner and lunch specials weekly on top of the every day menu. The only place I know that you can enjoy live music and play pool. Awesome outdoor tiki bar with great views

We had a large group come in on a Monday. The food came out fast and delicious. The servers were competent and nice. We had a great time and a great meal. We liked the old school jams. Typical sports bar ambiance and the prices are fair.

Good food, fun place with an outside tiki bar and dock and dine slips available! What more can a boater ask for? No reason to call ahead for a slip.. just pull in. They have about 3 free dock and dine slips. Watch the current!
