Have been going to this place on and off for many years. In the past, it was a friendly, local place....pretty good food and a pleasant bar and wait staff. It had changed in the last few years, but I keep trying in case the place returned to its original form. Tonight, by far, was the worst, and therefor likely the last, time and meal. Waitress was unfriendly, burger ordered rare came out lukewarm, well done and on a very stale bun...clearly a leftover in the kitchen, dressed up for my order. A suitable, if not delicious, replacement was made...no complaint there. But, really!!! Not as much as an apology from management, in person or by way of a free coffee? Waitress acknowledged burger was sitting there, no doubt, and management was told!! No way to keep a customer!!

My wife and I went to the Chapter House after every other place in Freehold was filled. I have never been there before and I was telling my wife over dinner how cozy it was and how good the service was. I was glad the places in Freehold were filled because it allowed us to finally go to the Chapter House (which we always pass on Rt. 9 and say we should try it). The food was plentiful for sure. I ordered an appetizer and I was shocked by the amount that was on the plate. My wife had the Iron Skillet Steak and I had a Burger. We both really enjoyed our meals. We go out most weekends and the Chapter House was very reasonable when we compare it to all the other places we go. We are definitely going back.

We went to the chapter house for an early dinner, ordered a steak and a chipolte chicken sandwich. The steak was so bland, I relied heavily on A1 steak sauce and salt and pepper for any flavor. The mashed potatoes were so bitter, they nearly ruined the meal. As for the chicken sandwich, this was the most spicy chipolte Ive ever eaten. It was very flavorful, except a half hour later I experienced the most excruciating pain in my stomach ever. During our meal, we were interuppted four times by the service staff. But when it came time for the check, they were nowhere to be found. Would NOT reccommend chapter house to ANYONE!

The Chapter House used to be a wonderful place with great food and service and my wife and I were regulars. The last few months Ive seen the quality and service drop like a stone. Such a shame. I suppose the owners are cashing in and cutting back. I cant see throwing away my money anymore. If you like to sit around wondering where the bartender is or why you have to wait forever to get your food, this is the place.

I used to go here with my family and recently came with my friends, it has gone down hill. I dont know if its new management, owners, or they just dont care. My time coming here is over. The burgers were over cooked, the fries we ordered were soggy, and the apps were cold. Not worth my money or time. Sorry but have to go somewhere else!!!!

Tonight, you ruined my parents 39th wedding anniversary by not accepting a gift certificate that was legitimately purchased at the business. My parents have been residents of the area for 30+ years and loyal customers of the restaurant in the same timeframe. Im very disappointed the owners dont take that loyalty more seriously.

Food, atmosphere, staff, value. Weve been going to The Chapter House for years. The food is great, burgers are made fresh on the grill at the bar and they have the best wings. Ive never been disappointed in the entrees that Ive ordered. And their drinks kick butt! Always a friendly face to be found.

Took my family here. Mom and I loved it, everyone else thought it was too "low brow". The food is amazing, the service is friendly, and its priced fairly. I havent had a better steak in the area, the burgers are great too. If youre snobby stay away, youll just ruin it for the rest of us anyway.

Ok beer selection - I do understand it was a Friday night, but ridiculously slow and in-attentive service. Waited 30 min for a panini. With fries - but it came with pasta. Weird. It was totally busy but also totally NOT customer friendly. Bummed :(

Kids burger was good, but five dollars for a little bowl of mac and cheese was a bit crazy. The ribs -- I would never get again. My wife and I both had ribs -- they were dry, overcooked, and had zero flavor. Wont be returning anytime soon.

Took a long time to place a drink order. It took even longer to place our dinner order, and the place wasnt even crowded. I had Yuengling since it was one of the specials, and it tasted like it had been watered down. The food was good though.
