Worst bar in all of Hoboken. Rowdy crowd, overpacked, and especially a terrible staff. I went into this dive bar with my wife and 15 year old son. We asked to sit down and the hostess said, sure find a spot with no sense of hospitality whatsoever. We were brought menus, which were very confusing. We waited for 15 minutes for the server to come and get the drink orders, but nothing. We waited another 5 minutes, still nothing. Another 5 and it was like we didnt exist. The three of us agreed that if someone didnt come within 2 minutes we were out. All in all we waited around 20-25 minutes. We decided to leave. On the way out, the female hostess said, "Have, a nice night," like there was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. To us, this was so terrible we couldnt even find the words. However, we left without stirring up and argument. In conclusion, I along with my family absolutely hated this place. The service was terrible, in fact, if I could give this place a 0/5 I would. Cmon people get your stuff together. You want to have a bar 15 minutes from the city you better be ready to get the people in and out. The way people in the city are wired is that they want to get out of restaurants in a hurry, not sit 20+ minutes just to give a drink order. I wouldnt go here if you want a nice dinner, although the bar seemed to be popping with the younger crowd.

Just attended a bridal shower here where the large dining room was reserved just for us. Despite the gray skies, it felt like a little vacation spot! There were a couple of palms by the doors, which were open. It was nice and breezy with excellent service. We had very attentive servers continually filling drink orders and they spaced our 4 course brunch very widely so that it felt like a longer party. While I didnt see the check at the end of the day, (Im sure it wasnt cheap since we did 4 courses and were drinking prosecco, bloody marys and mimosas for 4 hours) I would say this is a great spot for a private party - elegant, old-world style and great service!

I come to Madison often because they have great happy hour. I only had one instance where the waitress was clueless and could not help me with their happy hour. For the most part, I will say the hostess and wait staff are friendly. They have good martinis and excellent calamari. They also are baby friendly - I say this not to suggest that this is a family friendly restaurant/bar. But for those moms that may need to do an early bird drink before the crowd gets crazy it is spacious and they have changing tables. I should also note the dinner is very good and they have Monday night specials too which are excellent. I like to come here for oysters too!

Was thinking this place would be a step up from the usual "nj diner" experience, but it actually fared worse. Drinks and appetizers were great; ambiance was buzzing with light jazz. But when the main lunch course came, the chicken panini sandwiches were lukewarm and the french fries cold. This sometimes happens and usually will be remedied by either microwave or new plates, but the waitress was rather check-out and simply offered "new fries" which when they came fared no better than the first offering. Have been in the area for 27 years and this would be the first and last time unfortunately; too many other spots are better and friendlier.

I had a half an egg shell in my meal and I wasnt offered any compensation! No free appetizer, nor a drink. I crunched on an egg shell! It couldve been something else that was glassy in texture, but I was only asked if I wanted something else. My friend had to send his meal back because they cooked his meal well done instead of rare as requested. Our server was also hard to hear, she didnt seem like she wanted to be there. At one point someone else was serving us because we couldnt get any service for a while.

I went to Madison last night for girls night... so so ambiance. Bartender was very nice and attentive. The DJ was pretty decent but his variety of music could use some work... mix it up a little... What really annoyed me was that the AC was not that great. Management, if you know its going to be crowded.... TURN THE DAMN AC HIGHER. It was hot as hell and everyone was sweating. Its humid and UNCOMFORTABLE. If you could fix that, you will definitely be on the right track.

A solid joint local for a little classier dinner or brunch. In can get pretty crowded over the weekend. Ive been here a few times and the beer is always good. The food can miss the mark sometimes, but overall it is decent. Big fan of the french onion soup dumplings, its strange but really tastes amazing. If you live in the area, fill out the card that comes with the bill and they send you a discount for your birthday and anniversary.

Quaint upscale tavern atmosphere with a good beer menu. Stopped in here for a quick pint and really liked the tap selection. Not your standard Guinness and Yuengling selection, they had Brooklyn reserve and troeggs. Food looked very tasty, especially the burgers which many of the regulars opted for. Staff was friendly and prompt. Definitely coming back for brunch.

is a great establishment for after hours dancing. The DJ is always pumping the place up with great music! the drinks served were decent.. the bar staff was not enough to assist on the number of patrons that were in attendance that evening. had to wait for a bartender to even acknowledge I was there. overall the place is a fun place to have a good time

My sister and best friend threw me a surprise 30th birthday party for 30 of my closest friends. The event was stellar. The food was great, service was excellent and the vibe was fantastic. It was great that we could just walk next door and have a few drinks after dinner. Strong work Madison.

Service was abysmally slow. The food was mediocre at best. Chicken was very dry, lettuce on the salads was soggy and unappetizing, veggies were way overcooked, and nothing had much flavor. It was our first time here and both me and my wife were disappointed. We will pnot come back unfortunately.

Consistently delivers great food at reasonable prices. The Madison doesnt feel like it would be a great restaurant and always seems to be reasonably busy but it has over delivered for me many times.. Hanger steak is great, as is the wasabi grouper.

Attended a small intimate office holiday dinner. Good calamari, excellent sliders, and very good Chicken Raphael. The Blue Moon pints topped it all off. The bar area is a fun place to meet people. I would recommend the Madison Grill.

Went on a Saturday night for a birthday party. Shoulder to shoulder people, louder than hell, and expensive. If youre looking for that club type scene on the north side of Hoboken, great. Maybe Im getting too old for it though...

Overall a great place to go to in Hoboken! The bar area are nice and tidy, food is great and bartenders are top notch. My only gripe is the smoking patio, it needs some improvement. Once they fix that up they get my last star.
