Ive only one experience with the Salty dog of this location. It was when I use to live in NYC I came with friends one evening for the first and only time. The bouncer stop us and didnt allow us in claiming Spanish people with long hair cause a problem the previous week and the owner didnt want Spanish people there because of it. The young white male who was bouncing at the time refuse to give us any detail other than that. I stated its against the law to barred entry and refuse service based on race, gender, age, nationality or religion by the law of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He didnt cared still refuse so respectfully we left. The next day I research if an event like he claim did happen and even called asking for the manager. My results show nothing about problems by long hair Spanish people from the previous week. The employee made a racist judgement of me and my friends who are educated and refine adults. Needless to say we refuse to ever try that Bar again.

i ordered a double wild turkey & diet coke, and it took two bartenders four minutes to assemble my drink. one was 50ish, one was maybe 30, and neither of them knew Wild Turkey was a bourbon? And having determined they had no wild turkey, they were unable to come up with an alternative, despite having four or five other bourbons (jim beam, bulleit, michtners, makers, and maybe angels envy?) right there at eye level in front of them on the shelf!? so i got a jack and coke rather than spend another four minutes following them up and down the bar pointing at bottles and reading labels for them. it was really surreal. i cant imagine its like that all the time, and in the end i got what tasted like a triple jack and coke in a nice big pint glass (yay!), but... wow. actually, maybe i will go back, there was a lot of Jack in that glass, and it was cheap!

This place is my husbands favorite sports bar. He comes here for all the games, football, basketball, etc. While being 7 months pregnant, I accompanied my husband tonight only to find the bars packed, so we opted for a seat at the table....with the intention to order something. Before being given the chance to look over the menu, our waiter/manager (the bald headed man) made an unnecessary remark about our "lack of order". We just wanted couple beers and dessert but I guess according to the "manager", we have to order "MORE" than that....mind you there is a gentleman with just a bottle of beer sitting across from me for the past 1 hr without a plate in front of him. Maybe he ought to order "more than that" but i dont see him or other waiters harassing this man. Never been so disappointed at this place. Such a disgrace!

I have been going here for years, but the service is horrendus as of late. After a small incident with the hostess about seating, my wife asked our waiter if she could speak with the owner or manager, and he said there were none, they were out." She asked then to speak to whoever was in charge and he said he was, and asked her at the same time why she had an attitude. When I spoke to her defense the waiter named Mark said he wasnt going to serve us and asked us to leave. When we spoke to the hostes about it, he walked by and said "dont serve them." We got up and left and never plan on returning. We are going to go watch the game at 200 5th Ave in Park Slope.

Have you been to The Salty Dog? The Salty Dog is not only a neighborhood sports bar, but a timeless adventure of dining that’s even kid friendly. Its firehouse theme features a garage style door, a vintage fire engine display; even their restaurant’s four alarm chili fits in perfectly. With their great food and setting for such an affordable price it’s no wonder why Gail says “Go!” Next time you’re in Brooklyn be sure to stop in The Salty Dog located at 7509 Third Ave., Bayridge, Brooklyn, NY. Their wings are the reason my friends and I decided to give this place another try even after the first bad experience with the staff, the wings are pretty good. The drinks left something to be desired. The staff that waited on us left a bad taste in our mouths when they started complaining of the tip left by one of the people who left, while there was a good number of us still placing orders. We were not done, but after the scene we had to endure we certainly are done with this place for good.

This is a very nice typical sports bar with a firefighter theme. to be honest I would probably give this place a four or five star rating but the one issue I have is that it seems to have a major meathead factor that frequents the bar. some of the language and behavior is extremely inappropriate. other than that I do like to come here for a big game at home in the mood for a sports bar experience.

This is definitely one to avoid, at least for me - its a total bro bar. The drinks are cheap but nothing special, and the cocktails are watered down. The food is fine, as far as bar food goes, but its loud and awful and the atmosphere is kind of hostile and aggressive. On weekend nights the whole front of the bar is open, and you can hear their bad dance music from blocks away.

Went here for dinner recently on a weeknight, around 5 PM. The food was good, the happy hour specials were great, and my 4-year-old son loved all the firehouse stuff. Prices are very reasonable, too. When I was younger (early-mid twenties), I hung out at the Salty Dog a bit on the weekend nights and it was always fun.

If you want to go to a bar filled with obnoxious drunks with no regard for others, terrible service, and a guaranteed fight (not on tv) then by all means, this is your place. And to top it off, there's always about a 8:1 male to female ratio. There's a reason it's called "salty dick."

Worst Place to go in Brooklyn for a Night Life. This place is gets over crowed, Too many RACIEST People, Dress code for a BAR (Stupid), Too Many males than females. Causes Traffic on the middle of 3rd avenue. Also to Top all of this TO MANY FIGHTS IN THIS PLACE. Never Again!

This place is nothing more or less than what youd expect from a bar called the Salty Dog: a standard old white straight guy sports bar with no frills. This is by no means a criticism; I love going here for a cheap drink and pleasant chat. Glad its here.

Had high hopes for this place and went there twice and each time had a bad experience. First time, the dip I got was bland and meh. Wanted to give them a second chance, came here again and got Wings. They were dry and had no flavor, not going back.
