My wife & I went to this place for my birthday and we were so disappointed. The interior looks really nice, but not like the pictures. It was dark & not enough light in some areas. The food was just okay. Not authentic Mexican food and OVER PRICED for what youre getting. You would get more food from a small authentic Mexican restaurant for way cheaper. I wouldnt mind the price if they actually brought out what is described on the menu. The dishes were not warm enough and it was not enough food. ONE SMALL bowl of rice and beans was brought out for TWO adults who ordered TWO meals. When I asked why, the waiter said it is "family style to share" & we can always ask for more. My wife and I looked at each other confused as to why we have to ask for more. Each of us should of had our own small bowls brought out as advertised on the menu for EACH of our orders. How are 2 adults going to share a small bowl (half rice / half beans)? They dont even bring the rice / beans in seperate bowls. If you ask me, it just seems like the company is being incredibly cheap. They also didnt give us a decent amount of sour cream on the side or sauces. When sour cream is literally $2 for a jar. My dinner claimed to be a "sizzling" dish, However, it came in a dish that looked microwaveable and put on top of a rectangular plate (& warm at best). The presentation of the food is horrendous. Even at fast food chains you get a bigger amount of condiments (sour cream, Salsa etc). We will never eat here again! $70 wasted down the drain.

We dined at Rosa Mexicano for my brother in laws birthday on a Sunday evening. We were a large group (13) so they sat us at the back of the restaurant in a VERY dark room. It was so dark in fact that we had to use our smartphone flashlights to read the menu. The waiter said there was nothing they could do to improve the lighting situation. Even though we had three children in our party, they did not offer us childrens menu, we had to ask. The table side guacamole was the highlight of our visit, the pitcher of sangria we ordered was overly sweet and expensive for such a small pitcher ($34) Our waiter was not very cheerful or welcoming and the children in our party almost fell asleep in their seats in the dark dining room. After we ordered the entrees began arriving in spurts from the kitchen and some people in our party sat waiting for their food while others were already eating. Overall the food was tasty, the kale in my Salmon Poblano was overcooked and a bit too salty, but the other people in our party were satisfied with their meals. The atmosphere was okay, nice music but the restaurant seems overpriced and I dont think we will be returning.

Came here on Saturday night at 7.50pm- my husband , me and a toddler. Was told there was a wait time of 30 mins. We put down our name and decided to wait. Now the irritating part begins. We could see a number of cleaned up tables vacant but no one was being seated. There was a table of four vacant right in front of us which stayed vacant for 15-20 mins before they finally decided to seat another couple with a kid who had been waiting before us. Very very poor front desk management. My kid was getting quite restless with the waiting and they could see that happening. When we inquired after 30 mins of waiting we were told it will be 2 more minutes. Another 15 mins of wait and still no table. The time now was 8.35pm. Still a few tables were empty but they would not seat us. At this point we politely asked if there was any possibility to seat us and the front desk said wait for 5-10 mins. Now we knew what the meant by those 5-10 mins. We decided to leave. The lady at front desk said a very unapologetic sorry and seemed rather happy that she gets to strike off from the wait list. Well never going there again!

I wasnt a huge fan of this restaurant. The hosts were pleasant and so was our server.....but the service and food was off putting! We waited for our appetizers for far too long....only to have our entre literally come out a few minutes after the late appetizer. Water was scarce and asking for it was as if we never asked at all. The mango margarita was terrible. Salt should have only bin on the rim of the glass but the entire drink tasted of salt, it was disgusting and I had to return it. The rice and beans which we were told would be served for the entire table was literally in one small bowl together.....that was not merely enough for three grown ups! The sangria tasted as though it were watered down and it was given in the tiniest pitcher known to man. Getting in contact with our server, turned into a game. The guy was nice and all but seemed to be preoccupied with God knows what.....and it wasnt even packed. He had one other table besides ours. Again, the people here are friendly but the service and food was really nothing to boast about. I definitely wont be returning!

Been going here for two years now and Ive never been this disappointed in the service and the food, Ive seen what this place can truelly provide and today they simple hit rock bottom for my group (11 people) . Waiters pls just because you have a large group and the tip is automatically charged doesnt me you should not do your job and give good and timely service.... cooks just because its a busy Saturday doesnt mean you shouldnt give each dish the time and effort they deserve and management you need to be active with whats going out front and give a helping hand to the waiters specially if you are giving them more than they can take without sacrificing service. OVER ALL dont waste your time with a group larger than 4 people. Right now this place cant take it management and owners need to do a better job in organizing man power. Dont expect me or any of my family members to go back.

I was born and raised in Southern California and this is the first place in the area Ive tried that tasted like actual Mexican food from home. Im not sure that those in NJ know what Mexican food is actually supposed to taste like considering some of the inedible food Ive been served at other establishments in the area, but trust me, this is it. $12 for guacamole is a bit pricey but considering the price of avocados and jalapenos out here Ill pay it. Its worth it to have fresh, delicious guac the way it should be made. My main dish (enchiladas suizas) was excellent. It had just the right amount of spice. The black beans were perfect and had a hint of smokiness. The service was excellent and I loved the decor. I will be back.

This is my 2nd visit to a Rosa Mexicano and the place does not disappoint. The location here is warm and inviting, as is the service. Our waitress was on point, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The short ribs were outstanding as was the table side guacamole (which I highly recommend). The bartender didnt skimp on alcohol for our drinks either. The pomegranate margaritas were exceptional and consistently good. We didnt bring children with us on this visit, but there were quite a few in the restaurant so while the decor is upscale Mexican, dont be afraid to bring a well behaved child and a pair of jeans.
