As nice and cozy hole in the wall Restaurant this might be the staff especially the owners son who is the waiter at this restaurant are so not friendly or welcoming. I decided to have a small dinner celebration here with 9 people and did not feel that we received the treatment that we deserved as paying costumers. This restaurant is a "BYOB" but if you "bring your own bottle" you cannot drink any liquor straight from a glass they want you to mix it with soda or one of their beverages which is not stated anywhere on their website or in the Restaurant. They also added a whopping 20% gratuity automatically to our bill for such unfriendly service as to where I would have given them a pity 15%. Anyone who knows how flan should taste or look knows the bottom and top should not be burned to where the top and bottom forms a skin crust and separates from the rest of the flan LOL AWFUL!! As a group of 9 we were talking to each other and kids were trying to have a good time but the staff started flickering the lights on and off in our area which I thought was RUDE! I can go on but all I can say is that I wont be going back! Perhaps after reading this review they can throw on a fake smile on to their bitter faces and show a little gratitude to the customers coming in who are keeping them in business. We are Latinos and was hoping that we would get better treatment from our own people. We were so WRONG!! We didnt even get a thank you as we left the restaurant. I get better treatment at McDonalds! If you want better Authentic Mexican food go to Taco Bell! Seriously dont waste your time or money!

I was there to celebrate a special moment with the family. After a beautiful day we decided to have dinner at Riviera. However, the rude service, the lackluster attitude, and inconsistency in the quality of the food ruined our celebration. The second tableside guacamole was terrible, the Chimichangas looked like a large Chinese eggroll, and overall the food lacked true Mexican flavor. They supervise your drink when it comes to the BYOB, where you are treated like a child. One of our guests was called out and scolded like a child because our liquor was not mixed with enough soda, keep in mind that we are adults. The environment is NOT family friendly. They did not like the fact that the children were enjoying themselves. There was no one else in the restaurant when my party of nine was having dinner, therefore no one could have complained. One would think that a Mexican family restaurant would know how to cater to a family orientated celebration. Men with deep voices cannot laugh in this restaurant, if your laugh is too deep, they will start to flash the lights over your table in order to get your attention or have you lower your laugh. HOW RUDE WAS THAT!!!. Live music Thursday and Friday, I will never know what the restrictions are because I will not be returning. I like my music in a non-monotone level. If you want to know what it feels like to dine at a library, where you cant express yourself in a celebratory manner, have dinner at Riviera Maya.

I ordered from GrubHub. Id to take you on a journey that I went through this evening. I ordered the Fajitas at 7:02pm. The estimated time was 7:40-7:55pm. Large time slot but I wasnt bothered by it compared to the average hour wait for food in the Teaneck area (unless you settled for fast food, chinese or dominos.) The time slot came and went and I receive no calls as to where my order was. I decided to contact the restaurant at 8:15pm, about a half hour after the time the food should have been delivered. I was told the delivery went out 25 minutes ago and should arrive soon. Food was in hand by 8:19pm. I settled down and opened the bag, only to find that THE TORTILLAS ARE MISSING (and the food was on the warmer side). Who can eat fajitas without tortillas? I surely prefer not to. So I called and inform the hostess who was quick to tell me she will send them over right away. Cool, I appreciated that. Tortillas in hand by 8:55pm. The delivery guy had no idea where my building was, I ended up having to walk to his car at the closest landmark. Its now passed 9pm, and I still havent eaten. When I opend my second bag it was pleasant to see a complimentary bag of chips, though a flan would have been better of course. All in all I give the 2 hour run around a generous 3 stars mostly because the FOOD IS GREAT, TORTILLAS ARE A++ !!!

Horrible experience in this restaurant today, we are usually happy with the food and atmosphere at this restaurant the lady owner is very charming today however this young guy greeted us. I had a bottled water because I did not want to indulge in a sugary drink. He proceeded to tell me it wasnt allowed and further said me bringing in a bottled water was defeating the purpose of them selling water. By the way the water costs 4.50.his last comment was unnecessary and extra. I ordered these small tortillas with what the called pork ribs which was actuslly shredded pork. It tasted dry and like it was in the frifge for some time, horrible! Wont be dining here again

Coming from a Mexican American cultivated area and being a San Antonian this was as close as I could get to what you would call Mexican food. The staff and atmosphere was great. Had the beef /chicken burritos and cheese quesadillas with rice and beans. Food portions were small and lack spices. Torillas were plasticty tasting. Guacamole was guacamole nothing special or great tasting. Probably wouldnt go again if in the area. Head south to the Bronx for some true tradional Mexican food for the same or even lower priced entrees. Better yet come visit San Antonio TX.

Horrible place, I happen to stop on mothers day 2017, they had a limited menu due to occasion (understood) but their takeout menu was available( I was not given a chice). I did see that they had raised their prices about 20% in comparison to takeout menu, for example the guacamole was 6.99 regular price... Mothers day menu guacamole was 11.99. I guess this guac had their mothers tears or something super special. I would not be returning!!??

We ordered this for the first time for our 2 year Anniversary. Its the middle of the week we are tired from working ...good take out as a little celebration is a good idea. It was AMAZING! The steak was incredibly tender, i could cut it with a plastic knife. Minus the plastic knife i felt like I was eating a real meal and not take out.Everything was so good.

Its a nice restaurant, went for lunch the waiter was awesome and very nice but the owner was a little intense, anyways the Hamburger with the pineapple was slamming and the salad with the beef and veggies was nice and clean as well, looking forward to going again!

Is basically a take out place, so decor n/a. We often order from there while drinking beer next door at Andys Corner Bar. The food is great and the service very friendly. They always offer to bring the food next door to the bar. The fish tacos are quite tasty.
