Save yourself money and go to a Indian grocery store and buy the food from the frozen section because I think these guys serve the same. I would have given this a negative star if possible for food. Ordered the meduwada and these were refried the life out and were definitely not fresh. On the masala papad the topping of tomatoes seemed to be at least 3 days old kept in a bad refrigerator The parathas were straight reheated from the frozen section of Patel grocery and that too hard like a dehydrated leather The Malabar Veg curry was ok but the Rava dosa was a new invention that went Deep South horrendous , how can one manage to mess up simple South Indian food???? If you want to give away your hard earned money for bad food you should eat here. Total Disaster of a restaurant wonder how they are still in business

Excellent South Indian dishes, served quick, well done, and fresh and warm. In many different combonations from rava-regular dosas, whether it is Mysore or Chatpata, the meal never can go wrong. The server/manager of the night, Dakshesh who was from Ahmedabad India knew how to make the customers day with great interpersonal skills and talent with the food. The sambhar and chutneys were just another plus factor that complements the great taste of the dosas. I am willing to return with my close ones. Great Great Great job Sankalp, of Edison, especially Mr. Dakshesh and his kitchen crew. Oh did I forget to mention, this place is better than Moghul Express of Edison in dosa quality and variety by far.

Super slow service: they served food very slowly. They dont understand that kids menu should be served first. After repeated requests also they were not able to serve item early. Bad oil in food : I had ordered Chole, which tasted like burned oil, Manipulation in order : Masala Papas served with roasted papad instead of fried, Pulav served in the name of Biryani but charged for Biryani. Cannot not communicate time and quantity required before taking order. Overall experience was bad. Wont suggest this restaurant for family and friends.

I have been here in edison for last 3 years. I have many friends here and most of them are chefs. They said about Sankalp that everything even Sambar, Itlybatter, Chatny and everything frozen. I am a south indian and i never seen frozen sambar chatny. In home if they use the Itly batter / Sambar more than a day that will cause food poison. Really I am writing this because I ate 2 times there. I asked my friend why not disclosing the same before and he said they dint give his salary he left the job from there right now..

Finally went to Sankalp yesterday after much procrastination.. however, it didnot live up to my expectations, food was good, service was good but quantity was not enough. For the price they charge for a dosa, I would expect that one dosa will do it, but that was not the case. Even my kids who at home are satisfied after one dosa, they expected more at Sankalp.. I have eaten enough times at their Ahmedabad location, there the dosa is more than enough, hard to finish one serving. I hope this guys realiaze it aswell.

We have been regular at this joint for past 3 years and just love the flavors of the food here.. Its really close to south indian food found in North India.. Place may have taken a minor dip since ownership changed in last couple of months but hopefully new owner will bring it back to same standards or higher pretty soon.. Must try Sambar Wada, Masala Dosa, Triple Barrel Dosa and Kanchipuram

This is my second visit... Amazing taste each and every thing I had both times.. Kanchipuram Achari rava dosa and kurma with malbari paratha is a must try.. I came across none with this amazing taste in pure veg restaurants across in tri-state.. This is very first time I gave a review as the taste and service made me to..

I was there yesterday. Waited for 20 minutes no one came to take the order. There was very less people but still the lady who was taking the order ignored us. It was a very bad experience forget about the food they are serving. I just walked out to another one nearby. Frustrating. No more soliciting this one.

Amazing food and variety of choices. I love their Cheese dosa. Its amazing, spicy, cheesy, full of masala, and real Indian food. I recommend it. Try it, you wont regret. But I would advise to avoid busy times because its gets crowded. After all, who would want to miss all those amazing dosas.

I wish i could give it something less that 1 star. The Sambhar tasted like a left over gravy. The Chuttneys are ok but the Dosa/Idli are totally not what they should taste like.Rasmalai tasted like i was eating plastic. Its noway a South Indian restaurant. Its Pathetic.

We had opinion ring for the appetizer. They were great and that pink sauce was even better. The chicken fried steak was ok... not quiet what I expected for a scratch kitchen. The baked potato was ok... just not hot, I though there was supposed to be butter on it.

I used to be a big fan of their Bisi Bele Bath. Was shocked to see that today they increased the price from $5.50 to $8.00. Almost 9 bucks including taxes. A steep increase for a rice item. I dont think I will frequent this place any longer. - Sam. 4/18/2017

Food was good but just for 3 people they have automatically added 15% gratuity. I asked the counter person and as per him, they add gratuity for 2 or more persons. So, as per him we should just go alone.

Not the same quality as in India. Plus they dont have good service and cleanliness. Some food items were good, but U have to do better in a place which is lined up with abundance of Indian restaurants.
