I was invited by a friend of my wifes for a New Years Party and I live all the way in Queens, NY. It was worth the 1 hour drive from home to Parsipanny, NJ. The party was amazing and nicely organized. The belly-dancing show was fantastic but could have used a younger woman though :) The selection of the DJ was fantastic and he was spinning awesome music all night long! He even played the songs that I requested. The price of admission was reasonable since it was BYOB. It was a great and memorable time. This party also marked the first time my 3 year old daughter celebrated New Years Eve as opposed to sleeping through it so I can never forget this place. :-) Aside from the party, the food was terrific. Their version of chicken makhani was very tasty and is my favorite Indian dish. What stood out was their russ malai! My friends at the party kept on urging me "go eat the russ malai, its awesome". It was actually the best russ malai I have ever eaten! It truly was. I even went for seconds and became a hypocrite by not sticking to my New Years Resolution to lose weight...only 15 minutes into 2015 LOL :p We got to meet the owner and the owners nephew and they were very warm, friendly and gracious. The location was pretty good and was easy to get to. All I had to do was drive on I80W and then Route 46 West. It is located in a shopping center strip but their signage off of Route 46 can be a little bigger.

Have had some great experiences here...gone for lunch and it was delicious, celebrated my uncles 50th here and it was lovely, so we decided to have my engagement party here. Great decision, they were sooo accomodating with anything we needed and had no issues the day of. Food was excellent, there was lots of it, and we all had a wonderful time. Thank you Pakwaan for helping us make our special day so easy! Cant wait to return, either for a quick, delicious meal or another family event. :) Definitely consider Pakwaan for your next event. They really went above and beyond...and fyi if you have picky eaters, they can accomodate other cuisines. My fiancé is Italian & the owner was completely fine with providing delicious Italian appetizers, milder food options, even offered to cook some pasta. If you want a place that knows how to professionally handle parties & cater to your needs, Pakwaan is it.

I USED to love coming to this place to eat great Desi (south Asian) food. We would come here all the time for the buffet but they really need to have more varieties cause its the same damn dishes ALL the freaking time and it gets boring eating the same thing over and over and also they have been tasting a little bland lately , like there was no spiciness to it at all. BLAND and Indian food DO NOT and SHALL NOT ever go together. For what Im paying I expected more, we also drive pretty far to come all the way here. Plus the skinny waitress who always wears a pony tail seems really rude, never smiles, always looks miserable when we call her. Theyre also very cheap and greedy with portions. So Pakwaan is so done for us. Now onto a better Indian restaurant that has VARIETY in their buffet and are not cheap and greedy.

We were on our way to Ihop which is located next door to Pakwaan and the smells that hit us in the parking lot immediately had us deciding Pakwaan was the place to go instead. We were immediately seated and told to help ourselves to the buffett. They had a good size selection for meat eaters and vegetarians. We literally stuffed ourselves because the food was so tasty. The waiters were very attentive and friendly without hovering. I wish this restaurant was located near us in Buffalo, but since its not if were ever in the area again we will definitely be stopping by.

I ordered catering pick-up here for small party at my house and I asked for 40 people and paid $65 per tray. What I got were small trays, not deep, and the pieces were very small and mostly gravy. Disappointed how little I got for the price especially since their prices were higher than some other places I called. In the end, we only had 26 ppl and the food was just enough and they were already pretty full from all our appetizers- definitely wouldnt have covered 40 ppl! Food was average for Parsippany/Morris indian restaurants.

Love this place. Great food, buffet is one of the best in the area (a lot of choices here as well). One of the few that will regularly serve goat (if thats your thing) in the buffet which is rare to see. In addition, the options on much of the vegetarian dishes change quite often which is a huge plus to try different variations of dishes. The interior is well kept, and the service is great. Definitely our go to for our indian fix.

My Indian housemate took me here. Its one of the best and authentic Indian restaurants in New Jersey. Their chicken biriyani is absolutely delicious and flavorful. I also recommend their chicken makhani, its one of my favorite Indian dishes. Overall I was very impressed and highly recommend this place.

I generally dont write reviews but had to do it because of so many fake positive reviews. Food quality and taste is terrible. I went to this restaurant reading reviews, but cant be genuine positive reviews. Food did not even appear cooked on same day. Restaurant was empty on Friday lunch.

Tried to get buffet take out. They came to me with the smallest container i have ever seen and expected me to pay 9.95 for it. Wasnt big enough to put one small item in it much less a variety- my girst time going after having ready a few good reviews. Wont be back!

Stumbled upon this gem of an Indian restaurant while traveling through the jersey area. We are picky about the quality and taste of Indian food, and were blown away by the distinct taste and variety. Service was great. Restaurant very clean. Highly recommend.

My order was completely wrong and the owner basically told me I ordered the wrong thing and that it was my fault. She was unwilling to exchange my food for the correct item i ordered. Horrible customer service and the food was mediocre.

This place was just OK. The food was alright but now I have a stomach ache. From the whole time being there, the waitor and waitress just grunted to everything me and my date said. It was genuinely weird.

Love the Chicken Tikka Masala from here. They use the kebab chicken which is very tender, juicy and full of flavor. The online ordering is very convenient. Highly recommended.

The food was OK but not at all spicy, which was what we asked for. It wasnt too packed so good arrived pretty quick. The bathrooms were OK and the service was very nice.
