I called today after finding a COCKROACH in my Shrimp Lo Mein and explained that I had been a loyal customer for 15 years without a previous issue of any kind. I spent $36.11 on my pick up order, which I had to throw away out of complete and utter disgust. The owner was EXTREMELY rude, stated that I should NOT have thrown it out and rather bring it in to see what TYPE of big it may have been.(does it matter what type? NO TYPE should be in it) I explained I had pictures of it and that they were already closed when i tried to call, and couldnt immediately return it. He made the assumption that it possibly came from MY HOME??!! Terrible customer service. I have NEVER in my life lived with or had bugs, in fact- I have a serious phobia of all insects. I cannot eat Chinese food of any kind for a long time after this. He did not appreciate the business I have given him for these 15 years, even though they do not deliver at all and Ive moved out of the area, and still travel for their food. He did not offer me a refund or admit there is an infestation. I will be calling the board of health. Do not eat here!!

Im a food critic and especially in the Chinese, Italian, Spanish, and Medi specialties. Their food is simple and fresh and more importantly, consistent! They are not gourmet but they are very close to it and for their prices, it is of excellent value. They are fast and efficient, always making sure you have enough iced lemon water and/or tea. Its a small place so take out portions are outstanding. If you want to try it for the first time, go for their lunch specials (general Tsos, Shrimp w Lobster sauce, Pepper Steak, or try their specials off the lunch menu. 5 Stars!

Amazing place and very very hospitable couple owns in Anne and Qin. The food is excellent. The decor is excellent. It is also a quite small and bustling place. Golden East has been rated Top Chinese in Central New Jersey for the past several years and is certainly that indeed. Even with the far inferior competition next door, Golden East has maintained its reputation. If you are ever in Mid State Mall, this is the Chinese place to go. Ignore the Buffet next door, which has vastly inferior food and service. They are not owned by the same people.

We were on the road and Googled the place to eat. This place had almost all 5 * reviews, so we tried it. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE! One of the worst tastes of Chinese food weve ever experienced. SLOOOW service (though friendly and nice), and ambiance glittery/ shabby (though cant say it mattered to us at the moment). Cant imagine what taste buds and definition of "fast service" all those people have who really mislead us to this place.

This is the best all around authentic Chinese Restaurant in East Brunswick. You are always greeted by Anne or one of her delightful waiters. Your tea and Chinese noodles are always full. The food is consistently good and if you go there frequently enough, you are treated to a Chinese New Years gift when you visit during the holiday. We have tried other restaurants in town, but none of them are as good as the food received here.

This place used to be good -- but has gone downhill. Owners are soooo nice and staff is great, but my last trip had me fighting off gnats (or fruit flies?) and the boneless pork had a twang to it, like one day from being rotten twang. And not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, but it might be time to change some of those nasty ceiling tiles.

This review is simple....best chinese restaurant! Period! I have been to many many chinese restaurants all over New Jersey and New York and this one never disappoints. The owners and staff are super friendly and treat their patrons like family. This place is the jewel of East Brunswick! Its a must go! Pan fried dumplings are the best ever!

Thi is the best chinese restaurant I have seen for a long time and there is nothing else in east brunswick area that comes close in terms of quality amd quamtity for the price. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone

Nicest people in the world operate this classic Chinese restaurant. Food is very good, typical Chinese fare. Try the pan fried vegetable dumplings, so good! Moo shoo is the best Ive ever had. None compares!

First time here in awhile picked up some takeout Shrimp with lobster sauce combo. Was very good, price good. Nice lady there gave me a little golden rooster for Christmas as she sets her Christmas tree.
