My best friend and I are regulars at this restaurant, and always look forward to eating here. The service is great, the ambiance is relaxing and subdued, and the food is amazing! The owners and workers have definitely come to know us, and make us feel very welcome. Everyone is nice without being overly exuberant, and the waitstaff is always attentive. Masa uses fresh, high-quality ingredients, and also offers interesting rolls and specials - its nice to see the chefs personal creativity! The only slightly off-putting thing about Masa is the music they play - a little on the generic Asian restaurant side, but weve come to find it kitschy and amusing. The prices are good, especially for a high-quality sushi restaurant, and they have a very wide variety of sushi as well as other Japanese food items, like tempura boxes, noodles, and cooked food (the tempura is a delicious alternative to their sushi!). They have a huge list of special rolls that are all phenomenal - the Rock N roll is a personal favorite. By far one of my favorite restaurants, ever! Its over thirty miles from us, but we never mind the drive, because we always have great eating experiences. Dont be fooled - though the restaurant doesnt look like anything special from the outside, its definitely a hidden gem!

I read the ratings and therefore drove down there to get some dinner to go. 2 dinner boxes, around 20 each, some sushi appetizers, around 8 and 11 bucks. When I came home and opened the packages ... . Everything looked old. The crab salad in one of the lunch boxes looked like puke. We didnt eat the crab salad at all, threw it away. The fish was burnt, the stake felt like the cow dies of the age. The appetizers - for this price I would expect something either sizable. But the portions wouldnt even feed a young mouse. OK, small size but good quality - no, you should have seen and tasted these. Moreover, when I was waiting, I started talking on the phone and I was still talking when the waitress pushed the paper bags (no even plastic bag) into my hands. But I had a phone in one hand, but she couldnt wait

I work nearby, and have been eating at Masa Sushi for almost 4 years now. They are consistently good and fresh, and they are friendly. The quality of fish, sushi and service has not declined over the years, and I have become a bit of a snob now because I enjoy Masa much more than other sushi restaurants. Their lunch combo roll is a great deal, and when I have ordered other things on the menu, such as Age Tofu, Edamame, and Spicy Kani. I have ordered the Flamingo, Bridgewater, and RockN roll and thought they were really good. My only thing I didnt care for was the seaweed salad- it was just bland. I think this is attributed more so to the actual salad than the restaurant though. Definitely would recommend and will continue eating there.

This place truly is a hidden treasure. We moved to the area after living close to NYC for years with very high standards and expectations when it comes to sushi. Masa looks extremely modest from the outside but boy are you in for a surprise. We took a risk the first time we went there by bringing our guests visiting from overseas - two of whom had been around the world and had had great sushi many times before. Even they said this was one of the best sushis that they had ever had in their lives. If you enjoy sushi go to this place. And make sure to pick a couple of their "couture" rolls featured in the photo album!

I have never had better sushi, from the fresh fish in Vancouver to upscale LA to the best NYC has to offer. Masa is simply the best. Fresh ingredients, very creative, excellent preparation and great service. BYOB is a plus. The mango tuna appetizer is very fresh, sushi pizza and spicy tuna bowls are guilty pleasures, and the photo album menu is full of treasures. We love the storm, sakura, exciting, red dragon rolls and too many others to mention. Comfortable place, well worth a drive and an evening out. Its our favorite restaurant.

I come here at lunch time, so I can only speak for that service time. Sushi is ok. Its not the best i ever had, but its not disgusting. Service is relatively fast for lunch. Price is good and they have excellent lunch options. Fried Ice Cream I had was mediocre. Ice Cream is tasty, but the outside Tempura Breading was a bit mushy. If you have the time and are willing to drive, Yutaka in Somerville is better, but if you need something quick and local, its an ok place to visit.

Masa is a cute, intimate BYOB restaurant with great sushi - in rural Raritan, NJ!. One of the best perks - 1/2 Price Sushi Mon-Wed (half-price/full quality!). The owners Samantha and Tommy are warm, hospitable, and remember you from your first visit. If you want a cozy neighborhood sushi place with great food and prices, Masa is the place to go!

I was disappointed. I ordered the Golden dream which was supposed to be shrimp tempura and avacado with mango and pineapple sauce on top. There was no avacado and the pineapple sauce tasted very artificial.

A wonderful small Sushi restaurant. Fresh and creative is what you will find here. I personally love the Bridgewater roll, but have had multiple rolls and Sashimi and am always impressed.

Just tried Masa Sushi today and got some take-out. The service was quick and the rolls were great. I had the Bridgewater roll which I highly recommend.

The food is great, but very pricy. $27 for a bridgewater roll and quart of chicken soup. If your on a budget this place is not optimal
