The Windrift has been a tradition in our family for many years. When it came time to plan my brothers wedding there was no doubt where we wanted to stay. When we arrived the workers were extremely friendly and treated us very well. HOWEVER....the management did not. My family is very respectful and we were treated like we werent supposed to be there. I understand that this is a resort and it should be maintained as one but when you have 10 rooms booked under one wedding party I think that it is ridiculous to be treated unfairly. On Thursday, we were escorted out of the bar at 12:30am which is fine but there were other people at the bar and the way the bouncers handled the situation was so unprofessional. My family and friends were spending a lot of money there and took very good care of our rooms. We will never be staying at the Windrift and we will make sure our family and friends are notified about the mistreatment as well.

I only eat here bc I have a house across the street. There are a lot of solid dining options here, some with excellent views - so many that it feels like a cruise ship except the food is very reliable, especially for all the people that dine here. The woodburning pizza is actually as good as what Ive eaten in Italy -- seriously! The upper deck bar/restaurant is great for amazing views. You really cant go wrong eating here - just different rooms for different age groups and for families versus no kids - you just have to feel that out and find which works for you. I havent stayed here - but guests Ive talked to say the rooms are very nice but have gotten pretty expensive especially since the renovation - its always packed in season though.

Have stayed at the Windrift quite a few times. Once I booked a room with an elderly guest and young children and they gave me a hotel room right over their party room and bar! No sleep, music all night long. The last manager was very helpful and understanding. I specifically called back this year hoping to speak to him to make reservations and he no longer works there. Instead I got a manager who is completely rude and prices that are absolutely ridiculous. They want their customers to pay for their renovations, and her answer to me is that eventually the rooms will be booked. Yeah, with old rich men that sit at the pool all day to hit on the young women.

Had lunch yesterday and it was terrible!! My wife had gazpacho. The flavor was decent (not great). It was served in a large soup bowl and barely covered the bottom of the bowl. I had a cheeseburger. The burger was flattened out to fill the roll (about 1/4 " thick) and was served with an unappetizing thin piece of sliced tomato which was more green than tomato red.......I put it aside. Asked the burger to be cooked medium with a little pink in the middle. It came well done. I got down about half the chewy, tough burger and pushed it aside. I will say the water with lemon was delicious!

The windrift food is disappointing and very over priced. We sat downstairs in the restaurant section. While the decorations and ambiance are classy it is not worth the trip to the Windrift because the food is so mediocre. I ordered the lobster and heirloom tomato salad. The lobster was far too chewy and the portion was very small. My boyfriend ordered a chicken panini which was decent. The service was fine. All in all I will not be returning to the windrift for dinner. Although, I may try the bar because the ocean view is beautiful.

The new renovations in the Windrift are phenomenal. The beach front atmosphere is such a nice change compared to everywhere else on the island. There is no other place on the island that has such a variety of food. From sandwiches to sushi and even pizza, the Windrift accomondated all of our tastes. The waitresses were all very friendly, despite running around being busy. It was an extremely busy night and we expected to wait forever for a table and food but we were quickly seated and our food came out faster then we expected!!

Dont go on Mexican Mondays unless you want watered down margaritas (we had to call them out on it and even then they were still not great). Tacos were ok, bbq pork isnt exactly a taco flavor and the chicken was dry. If you do go, I highly suggest the Avalon Sushi Roll, though it is expensive. That being said everything on the menu was expensive. Great views! Fast service. And I have had good drinks here in the past, but the Mexican Mondays margaritas were a joke.

We discovered this awesome restaurant on the last day of our family ocean city beach week, and I would say we could have come here every night if I knew such place in Avalon. Decent structure and contemporary style throughout, the view from the 2nd floor was amazing and not to mention the food was unbeatable with outstanding presentation. Theres a live band after 10pm and nice bars inside and outside deck. Windrift has my high recommendation.

The staff does not provide a level of customer service reflective of the cost of the hotel. They call themselves a resort, but they dont even have a gym. The simplest requests are denied without consideration. Room service is a joke, the front desk will make you go downstairs to place an order even if you ask to be transferred to the kitchen phone, which, by the way, is a few steps from the front desk.

Went for Tuesday night Wing Night. Wings are good; pitcher of Miller Light fairly reasonably priced. Downside is $5 per person charge at the door. Seriously? $15 for the 3 of us for nada. Feels like the usual gouging at the shore. Leftover from years ago when young people would come and spend the whole night there drinking low cost beer. Now mostly families so repeat, gouging. Wont be back.

This was our first visit to the Windrift. We had a friend recommend it,and they have been there many times. We absolutely loved it there. Worth every penny to stay. It is kind of all inclusive,in that there are places to eat with bands right on the premises. The Stone Harbor town is adorable. The beach is beautiful! The pool is great. It will not be our last time visiting!!!

Building is well designed and looks amazing. bars on bars so youre never far from getting a drink. Great place for dining and drinks. Brunch servers were a little slow and not at the top of their game. Besides that the bartenders are funny and knowledgeable and make a great lemonade cucumber vodka and a STRONG tequila sunrise. Would stay at again if back in Avalon!

The setting was ideal. The food and drink were excellent and our service was great. Unfortunately we had our discussion at the same time that their entertainment decided to do lounge singing the entire 2 hours. He never took a break and was right outside our area. It made for a difficult meeting. It would have been nice to allow us to relocate.

While the restaurant was beautiful, the service was atrocious. The food came out at different times, and we were forced to clear our own tables after plates and drinks stacked up from dinner. The waitress was rarely seen, and we had to go to the bar to get our own drinks often. Absolutely unacceptable from any restaurant.
