I went into Chelseas last night to have a beer and eat some dinner. I sat at the bar as usual for me and ordered my beer and some nachos. The bartender was pleasant and attentive, all was well. When I got my nachos I happily began to eat them. I had only gotten a few chips in when I used my fork to eat some of the lettuce on top of the pile. I got one bite and then saw what I think was a click beetle crawling in my lettuce. I calmly, because I am not scared of insects, removed it from my nachos and placed it on my napkin. I did not kill it then just held it there to show the bartender when she returned to the bar. I showed her the beetle and she took my nachos away. I did not raise a fuss. I was polite and discreet. The couple sitting to my left had no idea that I had just pulled a bug out of my food. I was given a second plate of nachos promptly and while I had reservations I began eating those as well. This time I made it in maybe two nachos and the couple to my left reached out and trapped a beetle that had just scurried from my plate. Again I did not raise a fuss, nor did the couple to my left. We calmly waited for the bartender and showed her the now crushed beetle. This time I said I did not want another plate of food. I sat there at the bar finished my beer and waited for someone to apologize or make reparations. NOTHING.. So I paid for my beers (the nachos were not on my bill) and tipped the bartender for 5.00 for two beers because I know it is not her fault and she should get a tip for the amount I would have paid for my entire bill. I then on my way out told one of the servers that I had two different plates of nachos and both had bugs in them and that I was upset that no one approached me with an apology. He then said he had heard about that and was sorry. I walked out the door and then the owner herself yelled after me that there where no bugs in their food and that I was a liar that I put the bugs there and she was going to look at the video to prove it. I said go ahead you will see my pulling the beetle out of my nachos and placing it on the napkin. I said talk to the people next to me they caught one of them too. At this point She said she was going to call the cops and that I was never to come back there again. Unbelievable! I did not actually eat any dinner so Im not sure why I would plant bugs in my food. I left here so angry and disappointed in this place. I have been here before. I have eaten food here and it was fine. I have had several conversations with the owner and they were pleasant. She asked me if I went to church and we talked about her faith. I wore my Seattle Seahawks hat in there once and she asked me about Russel Wilson and she told me he was one of her favorites. What is wrong with people. Enough is enough I will not be bullied and threatened. I did nothing wrong in fact I was polite and discreet the entire time. I will never go here again and I am going to tell my story to EVERYONE i know. Thanks Chelseas 22! #bugsinthefood #bipolarowner

First I would like to start off with "We have the best wings in Hunterdon county." The biggest lie Ive ever heard in my life. The wings we were served last night came to the table practically RAW! There was no flavor to the meat and the sauce was nothing but butter. Ive had plenty better wings than that place, and right up the road. Secondly, the chili. I dont know how people eat food that comes to the table looking like a can of wet dog food. I was so disgusted by our entire meal. Lastly, the rude customers. We sat across from a couple who proceeded to scream at each other and tell the whole bar their lives stories. I can tell you more about their lives than the food in the 30 mins we were there. Now usually you dont fault a restaurant for their patrons, right? Well this bartender kept the questions flying and the yelling wasnt controlled so although not entirely the business fault the bartender should have not allowed that to continue! Now I am all for giving restaurants 2nd chances but after our experience I will never step foot in this establishment again.

Stopped here with my boyfriend on our way home from Warren County. Super convenient to get to, right on the main road home. Small place, nice patio seating area. Slightly understaffed but the staff were very kind and definitely stayed on top of the tables. The food overall was very good - I had a buffalo chicken wrap, which needed more buffalo sauce, but was still tasty. I substituted fries for onion straws which was the best decision ever because they were delicious. Id go back here just for those. My boyfriend had the jerk chicken wrap with fries which he really enjoyed. It was a bit watery due to dressing/tomatoes/etc but the flavor was decent. He said he thought itd be spicier. Overall, both meals were very good - chicken was fresh and tender, wraps were grilled and crispy, and the sides were well done. Definitely worth a try if youre in the area!

This is our go-to local casual pub/restaurant. Its your classic local joint, great prices, great food, very neighborhood type atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly. They have a main dining room, a bar area, and an addition that is glass covered and open air in the warm weather and closed and heated in the colder weather. Negatives are that it can be loud on weekends (just people having fun and blowing off steam!) and sometimes there is a bleach smell (good that they are killing any bacteria!). It can be tough getting a seat at the bar during peak times. Owner is usually present and making sure everyone is having a good time. Portions are very generous, and the specials are always great, its good that they are always mixing up the menu.

My wife and I stopped in to Chelseas for a dinner. We knew nothing about the place except it was on the GPS and close by. I thought it was a great place. The salad was great and the food was outstanding. I live in Michigan. After reading some of the other reviews, I think somebody is trying to trash the place. Service was great and the whole experience was enjoyable. For the price and quality, you cant go wrong! Les

I work close by and have been here many times over the years and 5 or 6 times since new ownership arrived. Havent had a decent meal yet with the most recent owner, so I wont go again. Cant even get a burger or chicken sandwich right. Overcooked, undercooked, or just plain bad. Only decent part of the whole place any more is the wait staff. They should try to find a job at one of the other decent restaurants nearby.

I eat there about once a week. I got on Wednesday just for wings. The owner is a nice woman. The servers a re E good. There are some servers that arent so good at serving. I never ate anything but the wings $6.00 for a dozen on Wednesday and Sunday. Its close to my shop and I say give the place a try. Your experience may be different but at least it will be your own.
