Ok. This dosent get anymore honest. THE SERVICE IS THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!! The prices are not reasonable at all. I see other reviewers think so and everyones entitled to thier opinion but lets look from the...."take out" perspective! 1 - The same price as eat-in is the same as take out, there is nothing wrong with that EXCEPT....you dont get half as much food to take out...they do not give any condiments(i:e sour cream, guacamole ect) with out charging you! 2- Eat-in gets ("endless")as one reviewer writes, chips and salsa and that too is fine....EXCEPT, take out people have to spend over 50.00 to obtain a (Lg) bag of tortilla chips and a Lg salsa. Not to mention, for another bag of chips it cost 6.00, after taxes. 3- The services is extremely poor and inconsistant with what take out order customers. Now, the finishing touches come when you ask too many questions or try to understand what you can and cant order(combonations) the workers start talking in thier native language to one another and they become distant with the customer. Now in order to get you all to understand this, these events occured 4 out of 6 times going there. Why so many times you ask, I believe in second chances and occasionally more than that. This last time was the final staw (breaking the camels back) that i will ever enter that establishment! Oh, i failed to mention my orders exceeded $50- each time. Hey, this is my take on this establishment. If you read some more reviews, you will see one of its downfalls is the service! I ask you this, would you stay with a Doctor that had lousy bed side manner? Would you support someone that does not appreciate your services? I know i wouldnt, moreso i WILL NOT!

If you know Mexican food you know this isnt the greatest AT ALL. They use marinara sauce on top of their burritos! That is a disgrace to Mexican food everywhere. Not only that, but they use mozzarella cheese inside their burritos! MAZARELLA!!! What?! When I bit into that burrito it took me a lot to choke back and not spit out. Sure those items are great on PIZZA however not exactly what Id like to taste in my burrito or any other AUTHENTIC Mexican dish for that matter. Let’s not mention the meat... it tasted horrible not sure where it’s from or how long it’s been there but overall not good. I thought perhaps it was just a one-time experience so.. I went back again because I’m not quick to cut a mexican joint down especially since it was rated decently however I was rudely mistaken when I went back again. Totally offended by the way they put their food together. I know Mexican food bc not only am I half BUT I guess nothing beats California AUTHENTIC restaurants.. The meals were way over priced for simple things like a burrito. Which in California or Mexico will go for 4.50 or 5.00 AND you’ll get more bang for your buck. Another downer noooo Horchata!! Who the hell has an "authentic mexican restaurant" with no Horchata?! The only thing authentically mexican about this place is their servers. Don’t bother unless you dont know any better as far as mexican food goes. They need better joints around the East Coast. What a shame!

HORRIBLE dining experience. Our female server has been a grouch to us for years now. Last night, we drew the line and told her how unpleasant she is. She overcharged us, in between giving us nasty glares the whole meal. $12.95 for 3 small vegetarian tacos with overcooked veggies? What? Tourist prices in the middle of winter. Ridiculous. (The lunch menu, which SHE gave us, read $6.95 for veggie tacos). My dinner was alright. The musician is great. But the servers have attitude issues, even though weve been tipping graciously FOR YEARS. TIred of it. We have to beg for service practically. NEVER going back again. I cant tell you enough how ridiculous the service was. She deserved NO tip though my friend insisted on something. Best part? My friend flipped out and caused a wonderful scene. Were NOT the type, but again, after years of crappy service and overpriced food, she hit a limit. Oh boy, was it a scene.

Located in the Starboard Plaza with Mr. Mattress, this is a decent Mexican joint for NJ. I found it to be clean and pleasant on this Sunday afternnon. The waitperson was efficient if not overly friendly. The food was not bad as the previous reviews made me expect. I had the Queso Fundido which was 97% cheese. I would have liked a little more Chorrizo in it. The Burrito Buena Vida was served with a small portion of rice, black beans, and sour cream. It was a spinach tortilla and well stuffed with chicken, beef, and peppers. I would say it was good. Overall, decent fare. It got busy as I was leaving and I saw 4 take out orders being picked up in the 60 minutes I was there.

Our Last Visit !!! Been there at least 4 or 5 times. Service is spotty, not the friendliest but just O. K. Was there last evening. The food is not that good. They use jared tomato sauce for their red sauce. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, this sauce was good but the chicken was hard to find so basically its one big dough ball that you are eating. My wife ordered a beef and chicken burrito and again, NO BEEF or NO chicken. The chip and salsa are good but it ends there. I do not recommend this restaurant. For what they are charging for an entrée, $ 14- 15 is just NOT worth it. ,........

The worst Mexican food Ive ever eaten in my life. Not only is the food terrible, but the people that work there are disrespectful. They missed up my order and when I called them to let them know, they said I was the one mistaken !! After arguing, they finally decided to make me my order again. Of course, when I went to go pick up my food, the employees laughed at me and talk about me in Spanish. Little do they know, Im a fluent Spanish speaker and I know exactly all the disrespect things they were saying. Please help yourself and stay away from this place !!!

I love the food at this place. The portions are good size, which they need to be for how expensive. My boyfriend and I just get one entree each and the bill is always close to $50. We also, always drink water. The service is fair... they are decently responsive to requests, but are in no way friendly. We do not eat at the restaurant anymore, just do take out. The other post is correct that you are charged for every side when you do take out but you do get a free small bag of chips and salsa. Overall I rave about the food, but not the service or price.

The food is fine here but the prices are about 50% higher than they should be. I dont eat meat so I was looking for fish tacos. I was told the could make shrimp tacos, $2.00 additional. The tiny little shrimp were hardly worth the $15.00 I was charged. I asked for additional chips after the two of us finished the skimpy serving we were given, I was told that would be additional too. I should have waited in traffic and gone the extra distance to eat at El Tepeyac Mexican restaurant on Old Bay Ave. the food is better and the prices are lower.
