BAD FOOD, TERRIBLE SHOWMANSHIP, INSECTS CRAWLING ACROSS THE TABLE, AND USELESS STAFF. My girlfriend and I went here tonight as I live behind the restaurant and it was snowing pretty badly. At first it was like any other hibachi place; it looked promising. But after our orders were taken, things went downhill. The first thing we noticed is the hibachi cook was not really entertaining at all. He didnt say a word to us the whole time, he flung a few pieces of food at us and did the customary egg roll and fire nonsense, but there was no showmanship about it and he didnt make any comical quips one comes to expect from a hibachi cook. The second, more disturbing thing that went wrong was that after my fried rice was served, a small roach climbed across my table. When I told the serving staff and they acted like nothing was wrong. I said something about it again and they moved us two chairs down... Kinda pointless really. After all of that was endured,we were prepared for a good meal worthy of the $20 per person meal cost. Think again. My girl friends chicken was rubbery, and my salmon was very bland. The only thing really worth eating was my fried rice. At this point I was tired of dealing with the crappy service and bad food, so I called over the manager (who hadnt been brought over after 2 complaints of me sighting an insect...). The manager promptly offered to take the chicken dish from the check and 10% off the final amount, but he didnt even seem the least but apologetic (or surprised for that matter) and he didnt even mention the insect. All in all, a pretty crappy experience for my date night nor even worth the 30 second trip from my home to the restaurant... I would suggest avoiding this place.

Went tonight with a friend who had never experienced a habatchii place. Sadly they were off the mark tonight. Previously, they were better. Tonight there was a 20 min wait for a table. I understand that it was 7:30 on a Saturday. Not a major complaint. We were seated in 10 mins. We were seated off to the right of the table (between the 2 tables). An hour passed (again not annoyed. I was enjoying my company), and the table next to us (who came after us) had thier chef. The family on the left us got angry and left. 5 mins later still no chef, I asked the waitress to move us closer in view for when our chef arrived. She did. Now at 8:45, the chief came. He proceeds to cook and leave us out of the entertainment. Now I start to get annoyed. Then realize the other family seemed to want vegetarian style. I calm down. Now at 9pm I realize no one is cooking for us or even getting us drinks. The other family actually said something to the chef. He then proceeds to fight with the chef behind him thinking he was supposed to cook for us. He then realized the waitress told him everyone to the right left. He put our food back and tells me he will hurry and cook it. I asked him not to hurry but do it right. Again, he says hurry and completely skipped all the entertainment. Oh and the lobster was bad. My friend couldnt even eat it! Now adding all this up I am annoyed. I get the bill, and they even charged me for the refill on soda. I have never been in a place that took 3 hours for dinner. Very disappointed! Will NEVER return!!

Well I went in for a lunch and I asked for a lunch sushi men . When she presented me with it I told the woman I was going to sit at the sushi bar. She insisted I get take out instead of eating there and when I had to promptly repeat myself that I wanted to eat in she finally had me sit at the ba . The sushi bar men are so rude! The entire time I was there they were on their phones ! As Im eating my salad (I wasnt even there for 5 minutes) I ordered a sweet potato roll and shrimp tempura roll. Literally as soon as I got my first bite of my salad they had already put a roll onto my plate. Which doesnt make sense cause every single sushi place Ive been to has taken 10 minutes or more to make a deep fried roll. So curious on how I wasnt even there they placed a roll that Im guessing was made way before I even got ther . Not a good first impressio . The sushi guys were on their phones the entire time and ignoring everything Ive asked the . When they actually looked up from their phones for the couple seconds they were blatenly staring at me. The one waitress was very nic . But the rest of them were garbage. Never again will I retur .

This restaurant is absolutely atrocious in every sense of the word. The waitress was completely invisible throughout the entire meal. I had to get out of my chair and specifically seek out someone who looked official to get a refill on my glass of water. I should never run out of water in any reasonable restaurant, ever. The restaurant itself spat in the face of hibachi convention by requiring that I pay an additional $7 to get noodles. Every single other hibachi I have ever been to gives both rice and noodles for no additional fee (and the same approximate base price). Mahzu didnt serve dessert. Every single other hibachi I have ever been to gives a free scoop of ice cream. Mahzu has absolutely no love for its customer, and nickels and dimes you, except that its $5 increments that they squeeze out of you instead of meaningless coins. This restaurant is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. They will never get my patronage again, and I strongly urge you to rethink your next visit.

I have been here before with much better service, after my recent experience I will never visit again. Place was empty on a Tuesday night and we orderes hibachi steak. I asked the waitress if I can substitute no vegetables for more rice, the waitress said no (never experienced that before). The waitress also stated that you can pick ONLY fried rice OR noodles, (never heard that one before either). Every other hibachi place I have visited never gave me a problem for a small substitution. Funny thing also, when I asked for more rice, I was denied. The family sitting across from me received their substitution and extra rice. Also, for the price, dessert and one side meal is not included. The waitress was incredibly rude and the chef was not entertaining. He arrived, quickly made the food in which the steak tasted like rubber, and left. I will NEVER visit here again. I never write reviews for restaurants, but I felt it was necessary for others to know what a poorly run establishment this is.

I never had any bad service and Ive been going to this place since 2009. The waiting time to start the hibichi is about 10 minutes. Arirang I had to wait 45 minutes before they lock the table for the chef to come. My water is always filled before its empty. The chef- entertaining, he does the usual. Mahzu has delicious soup! Their salad is green and tasty! The quality of the meat- steak and chicken is superb. The shrimp is mouthwatering. I love this place. The only thing I dont like is the menu on top of the plates and it would be nice to have a loyalty card for the regulars. Ive tried Arirang 3 times and each time I went their I had terrible service one after another.I honestly prefer this place over Arirang without a doubt.
