Not sure if people are actually critiquing the correct business sometimes with these reviews. The food is fresh, but expensive? You have got to be kidding. It is inexpensive for sure, but you get what you pay for. I was frightened of getting food poisoning when stuff that should have been cold was warm- the sushi in particular. I stopped after two pieces and knew it had to be good to be true- all you can eat lunch for $7.95 that includes sushi: something is wrong. The crab too is stale, warm, anything but tender meat. The heated chinese food is the same noddle, General Tso fried, etc.. items you find at thousands of other Chinese buffets. The hostess lady walks around, chatting on her cell phone as she sits you; doesnt otherwise acknowledge you. The place is depressing and dark on the inside, sitting on a baron, crack-riddled parking lot across from the Fox Run Mall (yet still seemingly obscure; I wasnt sure after passing it so many times over the years if it actually was open for business any longer). I gave it 2 stars only because of the price and a few of the poor waitresses trying to make a few bucks off a $7.95 buffet; some of them made an effort to at least be helpful and nice.

Boycott this place. Ive been twice, and wont go again. Went at 8:30 pm, place closes at 10. Everything looked stale, the sushi was disgusting (who wants gross/weird looking sushi?!) and very questionable. Not to mention the sushi chef looks at you funny and doesnt speak English. Sushi is not labeled. Food was almost all gone, not hot, like it had been out for hours. Tasted "off" and was hard to find a dish I wanted to eat. Overall, a very depressing vibe and experience. When dropping the check the waitress asked my boyfriend how the food was, he was honest and she just looked at him weird. Notably did not comp or adjust the meal--our bill was $27 with just water for a drink on a Thursday night. On our way out my boyfriend remarked to the hostess on the quality of the food and service, she was rude and just said maybe it wasnt our taste and they served 200 people all day and no one ever complained.

More like 2.5 stars. It is a large buffet with a lot of items. We were there on a Sunday night so it was not busy. The assortment was typical of Chinese buffets and everything tasted ok and everything was stocked well. But the food was not hot. It was not even warm. It was room temperature, even the soup. Not ideal for an entire meal. When my husband went to get his 2nd plate, there were fresh items that had just been brought out that were warm. So, yeah, they need to turn up the buffet warmers. We did enjoy the sushi, probably our favorite part of the meal. Service was fair, we had to ask for soy sauce and also get salt and pepper from another table because we had none. We had plates cleared quickly and drinks refilled as soon as they were empty. Sunday dinner buffet for 2 with sodas came to $33 including tax.

I went here on a Monday, lunch time, so I guess I can understand if the food wasnt as fresh as it might be on a busy weekend day, but there seemed to be a few people and it appeared as if everything had been sitting for a while. Nothing tasted great and there seemed to be a lot of stuff I didnt care for. The sushi was below mediocre, and there was one that had fish in it, but it looked like a slice of rotted banana....soooo no thanks. Also, the worst part, was that I was over by the dessert buffet and a giant ANT crawled out of the chafing dish and across the counter. I regret not saying anything, but I immediately put my plate down and left. I felt a little queasy at this point. If theres ants on the buffet, I cant imagine whats crawling around out back!!

ive gone a handful of times, and the sushi chef is always rude and acts like he has a problem with you. also stares at you while youre getting sushi, not just looking at whats being taken, but at you, like hes mad at you. i figured this was just me the first time, but its been every time anyone ive known has gone. this is terrible and makes for an uncomfortable experience. also, went a few nights ago and the food was atrocious. spoke to the waitress who just looked at me confused. i was extremely polite. then spoke with the hostess and she told me that maybe their food wasnt to my taste, even though ive been on several occaisions and have the correct expectations for a buffet meal. overall the service is TERRIBLE. will not go again.

This place was HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...awful...front the start...my feet stuck to floor! Food was not at temperature that board of health would consider close! Not the type of food I would expect from a CHINESE restaurant for one...lack of food descriptions.....even though alot of food to chose from not much at same time...unless you are looking for pizza or french fries! Hibachi people acted as if they didnt care to serve you...no labrls...warm raw beef and chicken...did not dare order. Not very traditional Not worth the price with even worse service! By far the WORST BUFFET I HAVE EVER PAID FOR

We went on labour day, they were charging extra for a speacial holiday buffet we were a little irratated but decided to eat anyway. Everything in the trays was either cold, over cooked (to the point you couldnt chew it) or just plain disgusting. There was nothing different from the day to day buffet except that the food seemed like it was saved since last labour day. halfway through the meal the airconditioners kicked on and the place instantly smelled like mold. Needless to say if i want chinese ever again i could throw a rock and hit a better place then this.

Not sure how "Great" made it in the name of the restaurant because its not the case. The food was cold, we were rushed by our waitress, nor was there a menu to let you know what the cost was. $40 with tip for two people drinking water is absurd. Ill save you some time and advise going to an actual restaurant downtown. Youre guaranteed a better meal, atmosphere and a feeling of satisfaction when you leave. Unless you like being surrounded by big eaters, screaming kids and feeling like youve been overcharged when the tab comes, this place is not for you.

Great food and the restaurant is really nice too!!! Everything was hot and fresh and refilled often. The hibachi bar is small and has limited food choices, but it was still good. The waitresses are so kind and respectful plus they dont try to rush you out the door and give you the check right away. My boyfriend mentioned the bathrooms had a lot of hate towards Asians written on the stalls/walls and they were inappropriate etc. The womens bathroom was fine to me. Overall, a great experience.

To be clear, their lunch is terrible. Its NOT fresh, and I know this not only from eating there, but from speaking with former employees as well. Its over priced for what youre getting considering a lot of it is frozen and deep fried, but once in a while they surprise you with something decent. The assortment of sushi is very basic. Id recommend the Chinese buffet in Somersworth over this.
