The new owners are ruining the place. When I used to come to Helena from Babb, I loved stopping in at the "merc" to see Ray, visit with the locals, and enjoy a cup of coffee. The new owners are totally absentee. Ive never even seen them! Turns out one is a teacher, I guess, and the other has another job. They just are never there. Its really disappointing as this used to be one of the best coffee shops in Helena. Id recommend skipping it and hitting one of the local places. I also learned at the coffee bar when I stopped in, they new owners arent even from Montana! Ha! The service was pretty bad the day I came down and the coffee was sour tasting. Go elsewhere.

Such a great little coffee shop/store in Helena. The drinks are tasty, and the items for sale are fun and unusual. Instead of the standard coffee shop seating, there are several little nooks and crannies. It makes it a little tough to figure out if theres room, but once you find a seat, its a cozy environment - perfect for lingering or chatting with friends. Theres even a little koi pond with a couple of fish.

Its not one thing - its the the whole package. The drinks are excellent - especially the Chai which is actually brewed, not made from a mix. The gifts and candy range from snarky call-backs to yout the high end pieces. If you want to spend an afternoon sipping a good drink in a booth while playing scrabble - this is really the best place.

BEST COFFEE HOUSE IN HELENA! It has the great barn-like cubbies for when you want to drink coffee and do some computer work. The have also have a candy store and unique gifts. If you are visiting Helena, you need to stop. This is one of my favorite coffee houses. You have to see it in person to appreciate the decor.

What a fun place! I loved the little tucked-away booths, the walls of quirky post cards and greeting cards .. and the TREEHOUSE! I had a chocolaty variation on a London Fog latte, and it was delicious.

Often so busy you wont find a place to sit, or the baristas will forget you ordered something. Cool selection of gifts, postcards, souvenirs, etc, and neat decor.
