Look if youre vegan double check your orders before you eat them! Every time i come here i am always very uncomfortable and i feel as if the new cook hates me. I only buy one certain dish and they always seem to make it wrong or even give me the wrong order.. Im not a angry person at all and i have never wrote a review before i am just deeply deeply sad about how some of the staff members treat me but i have never been angry with them. Even when they have given me a dish with eggs in it twice and i ate one of them. ( i am vegan and have been since 2015 ) They refunded me and gave me a free treat. The only thing that makes me keep coming back to them is who i believe is the owner. She is so sweet and nice and always makes me feel welcome. I came here again a while ago getting the same old order and what not and the cook kind of gave me a glare after i repeated my order to them and told them the number of the dish. i guess they thought i didnt want one of the ingredients that came with it? I called my order ahead and told them my order multiple times just in case because i did not plan on waiting for it. But they still had to remake it and i had to wait for it to be made. As i was standing there i kept looking over at the cook pointing at me and talking to a coworker angrily and i really just wanted to leave at that point but i already paid and i just wanted to get my food and get out of there. It was the same cook from a month or two ago that gave me the wrong order over and over again. but he still needed someone to watch him and tell him how to make my dish? I forgot to mention my boyfriend and cat were sitting and waiting for me the whole time in the car. We had a long night so we leave and i know this might sound very repulsive.. im not very sure why i am putting this out there in the first place but we were almost home and my cat was tired from the drive and pooped on me. it was kind of funny and me and my boyfriend were laughing about it but it sucked i had to take a long shower and all i wanted to do was eat because i had nothing to eat all day.. i ordered my food ahead of time because my cat was in the car with us. Am i the only one or am i just unlucky? i have been coming here a long time and have even bought a whole birthday cake from them for my birthday. I dont even feel like coming back here anymore.

RUN, DONT WALK. Find somewhere else to go. As a group of graduate students, we went to UB last night to work on a group project. My friend ordered a simple sandwich with chips, and a beer. It took them over 45 minutes to get her food to her. First, there was a girl behind the counter yelling to another staff member, "Did that lady order food? What did that lady order?" Over and over again. Then a nice staff member, who had obviously already clocked out but saw that they needed help, stopped by our table to confirm my friends order. This staff member found that they had prepared the incorrect sandwich. Fifteen minutes after this, I went up to see if my iced coffee was ready yet. It was sitting on the counter- for who knows how long. They did not call out the order, get my name, deliver it to my table-turning nothing. I then asked for my friend if she could have her beer come out ahead of her food. They confirmed. Two staff members came to our table to confirm the kind of beer she had ordered. It was not delivered. Forty five minutes into this debacle, they delivered my friends (aka. that ladys) food, and they still had not brought her the beer she had ordered. She reminded them, they went to get it. A fourth staff member appeared at our table and proceeded to tell her they were out of it. (Out of the IPA, so let me offer you a Blonde or Pilsner instead... Same thing, right? Dear Lord.) She requested a different kind, and it was delivered in another 5-10 minutes. Needless to say, customer service was absolutely terrible. Of the 4 employees we encountered, only one seemed competent about her job- and of course it was the one off the clock and leaving. UB is only positives are their atmosphere, hours and free WiFi. I will never, EVER be returning.

Love that this place is open 24 hours and they have different options, but the staff is extremely hit or miss. Today I tried to call in an order and pick it up. First, the website menu was old and the person that picked up the phone was new and couldnt even direct me to a vegan breakfast choice. The other lady gave me 2 options and after an awkward exchange asked how long I would be. Normally I get a "it will be ready in 15-20 minutes" when I call in orders but not here. I showed up and wanted to confirm one burrito was vegan since the new menu at the store only said eggs and cheese. The new girl had no idea and another lady with purple hair seemed too busy to care so just gave an annoyed thumbs up. Ive been here before where other employees have no idea if coffee or other menu items are vegan, and have even seen one belittle a young female employee in front of the whole restaurant for about 15 minutes while I ate. Great food, spotty service, and never know what you will get.

Ive frequented Urban Bean for the past few months and have always been pleasantly surprised with their food and hospitality. The staff is always enjoyable to interact with / very happy people. The coffee and food is pretty great, but carnivores may find themselves slightly yearning for a bit of meat on the menu. Wifi password as of today: thankyou Some things I consider a must-try: 1. Pineapple sangria (i accidentally had three) 2. Breakfast sammies (on english muffins!) 3. lavender/lemon pie, and bourbon cheesecake This is not a good place for remote work when its busy for software engineers. The seating is pretty fine, but the Internet wavers. That can be bad if you have to hop on a meeting or need to do mission-critical project work. For college students and others, its probably more than fine. Still 5 stars from me. Cool patio/space, friendly people, and good food. Thanks Urban Beans!

I used to really enjoy going to Urban Beans, but I have not been back for months and dont know if I ever will return. They have great tasting espresso and there was a short-haired barista who was friendly and very knowledgeable. I am not certain if the barista still works there, but the last few times I had been there, she wasnt working. The last few times have been a nightmare and the baristas have no idea what makes a good espresso drink. The owner/manager or whatever she is has been incredibly rude on several occasions. The very last straw was when my iced espresso beverage was made incorrectly and she refused to let the barista remake it. She is just too rude for me to handle, but I may one day bring my business back if the customer service is present.
